I want...no... need your doors with the audi door handles!!! how much it cost you to get em done?
-
They do do them but i havn't seen them in a set. I've got the 12 sided and i find them great but hes a very stubborn man

Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows where i can get 6 point ratchet spanners from. I have got the 12 point ones from halfords but my dads prefers the 6 point type (less rounding). hoping to buy him a set for fathers day. Cheers

Notice how its sneaking up as the row about mp's expenses continues... coincidence, i think not. :bad-words:
-
When we disconnect the power to the injector it doesn't inject so i presume its not stuck open.
-
did compression check today and got 175 - 185 on all but no. 5 which was 300+. Took the injectors out to test them and cylinder no 5 injector was constantly firing, even with ignition on. So i think its ECU, any knowledgable ones say otherwise before i spend money on an ecu?

Good good, i love the effort and work gone into your car! Got some pictures of it out of the driveway today, at private land trying to get the thing to run right, its just not having any of it though :( pretty cool picture of the cat glowing and the exhaust smoking :)
-
well the cam sprocket i replaced so i know its fine, the timing is 100% right as i have had the cover off and both cams line up as well as the mark at the bottom. Injector plugs are still in plastic retainer so you can't really get them on wrong. I've come to the conclusion its the tappets though so going to try them tomorrow. But its just absolutely drinking fuel (approx £10 in 5-10 miles) and clouds of white smoke out the back. Oh and i had it on the diagnostic today and it showed no errors up so its confusing one!
-
lol, if only toad! but yes they are correct, unless the numbers on the coil do not correspond with the cylinder... will check the compression tomorrow, what do you mean about cam being setup right? if you mean timing then it is definately setup right. not sure how to check correct fuel pressure, might be a problem but it stinks of fuel and it chucks clouds of smoke out the exhaust

lol, guess im going to have to make my own members ride thread. which funnily enough i don't think i have done for either of my corrado's i've owned, and i've been here for near 2 years now!
-
Aaaargh!! where have all the photo's gone in your thread? i wanted inspiration to finish my car!

I've tried searching to no avail, basically i've just rebuilt my VR6 engine from top to bottom and put it all back together and for some reason the rear bank is not running right. There appears to be a spark, good fuel but i don't actually know how to check if its MAF but even if it was that wouldn't cause cylinders 1, 3 and 5 to not run right. cylinders 2, 4 and 6 are fine. The usual test of removing the ht leads doesn't make much difference to any the 3 cylinders. My dad reckons it could be the tappets that have jacked up and it just needs a good run but seeing as its just used £5 of petrol on tickover for 10 minutes im a little concerned to be driving it. It also stinks of petrol but theres no leakage anywhere. I will be taking it to private land tonight for a run to try it (has no MOT, Tax or insurance so giving it a good motorway blast is a no no). Anyone got any idea's? and i don't have vagcom so i can't try that for now, possibly got someone with some diagnostic thing coming on saturday but if i can id like to get it sorted myself
-
lol, no rush... if you have any left would appreciate them being sent this way. let me know when your done and ill pm you my address
-
im sure there was a topic a while ago from someone that worked for the DVLA with a corrado that had found out
-
Just got quoted £45 for a bag of them :( anyone fancy a group buy? i got 2 handles to do...
-
lol, fun fun fun! which bolts do you mean?
-
-
haha, all corrado owners print out the pictures with the words "looks like theres room for one more on the flatbed" and put it in the glove box as a warning to their corrado
-
if only you were nearer would have had the windscreen out of one of them! that is an awful sight seeing soo many corrado's in bits.
-
easy peasy!!! are you replacing the top caps and rubbers? I could probably talk you through it, you will need tracking done at the end though. the front has 1 nut at top and 2 bolts at bottom and the whole strut drops the rear has 1 bolt at bottom and a nut at the top and again it drops straight out

Do they not teach the green cross code any more...?
swiftkid replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
I know, its ridiculous!!! i was turning into a junction the other day and some people looked at me turning in and actually started walking out in front of me as i was turning. no urgency to cross or anything, do these people not understand who will win? have they never played carmageddon?! -
on here lol. I think grey or more likely black smoke is petrol so im guessing its more likely that its not sparking and perhaps not timed right, if its banging it would suggest that it is firing in the exhaust. definately check the timing, if you can get hold of a timing gun you connect it to the battery and then to ht lead for cyl 1 and then point to bottom pulley on left hand side, it should flash everytime the notch on the pulley matches the arrow on the plastic cover. Otherwise check spark plugs, take each one out individually, put them in ht lead and somewhere they can earth and then see if they are sparking. is there any tapping noise? could try checking the pressure of each cylinder as well make sure. Does it use any oil or water when running up to temp?
-
the 9a is constant injection as i recall and if you remove the injectors and then prime the pump they should spray. I would maybe advise disconnecting the injectors and the pipe and clean the lot out as it may not just be the injectors but the pipe itself. I perhaps wouldn't fiddle with it without some research but it could be the mixture (mixture screw) or the timing? have you got a timing gun to check it? when you say its smoking, what colour is it? does it smell of petrol at all?

any chance whoever is doing the wiki gude can add this to it or it will probably get lost into the abyss of time. very useful guide, will be on dog and bone in the morning unless Pat McCrotch fancies posting some freebies out if he can
