  1. In the hope i can get some relatively cheap not from VW does anybody know where i can get big end and main bearing bolts and the flywheel bolts.
  2. corrado headlights are generally naff. its the wiring, rather than taking it straight from the 12v it takes a longer route and loses power. There are headlight looms on ebay and theres a guy on here doing them occasionally. Could try a xenon bulb to get you through as they are brighter or even just replace the bulb might work but the best bet is the uprated loom.
  3. if you don't like it i'll have it  it is just such an amazing machine though, absolute piece of artwork. i think the only drawback to the r32 in a corrado is its fwd and from what i've heard that is barely a drawback anyway with the amount of power as it is so i have no doubts this would be amazing to drive!!!
  4. would you mind if i asked how much you got the unit for?
  5. haha, genuine reason for sale... I don't want it
  6. wheels look really nice, my favourite wheels!!! like you said tho - needs lowering. Is there much wiring required? its a mod that looks amazing i think i will have to look into doing but im no electrician!!!
  7. I hope they are declaring the non-factory modifications on the insurance...
  8. Ahh, only take an hour or two to change then :) If you need it, i've got a KR cylinder head i can sell you... in fact i have a few lol
  9. Well get up early on saturday, nip down your local parts store and get working. Ill talk you through it if needs be just to stop another corrado being broken!!!
  10. Don't break it, its such a shame that soo many people are breaking corrado's. Head Gasket will take a day and you could have a lie in AND be ready to go out on the drink on the night time. If you really wanted to you could get the head skimmed, grind all the valves in during the week and put it back together and i bet it will feel better once its back together. I am by no means a mechanic and i've changed a head gasket a few times now, cost about £50 for head gasket and head bolts plus £70 for head skimming if you fancy taking on the task
  11. only thing i would suggest is either put a ticket and tax on it and get it running right or break it. what engine is in it? if you really dont want to break it you might need to spend some money on it to get it right. Keeping it and letting it rot away is a bit of a waste. either that or make it a project car for some serious power and looks seeing as you don't actually need it... R32/VR6T/1.8T something like that?
  12. Fluffy dice for the win!!! mine broke :(

 i feel so special. just to make clear i am of course joking and not having a go...
  14. I have a friend that works for Zcars  I can see what you mean about 4wd/rwd for the toy car, would be soo much more fun getting a bit of drift action going on or some track time.
  15. and the fact that anybody can go out and buy a fast car, but not everybody can maintain and tune a nice car! the look on peoples faces is priceless, even though he was quick, i bet he felt so gutted in his £15k+ car
  16. what are your plans for the conversion? running it on the original ecu or going standalone? will you be using the mk4/mk5/corrado clocks? I think for performance there isn't alot in it, reliability is not really an issue to worry about with the engines as from what i've heard people have seen r32s with 200k on the clock with original chains and clutches etc. When i spoke to Vince (if my memory serves me right) he said the mk4's are alot easier to setup as the mk5s need alot more setting up but vagdoc has got around all that as you can see from pete_griffs. As for the extra parts needs, other than the standard parts (oil cooler, manifold and wiring) its just pipes being altered and mixing and matching between engine parts on the 12v and 24v like tensionners etc but people have done it different ways, just depends how you want to go about it.
  17. ok, well you've been a great help to me when i was considering R32'ing my corrado and your information will probably help me in the future if i do decide to go that route! I absolutely love your choice of car next, they just look amazing and sound fantastic. Think the blue looks fantastic!!! You'll get another corrado, they all do... they all come back
  18. So can we not talk you out of this Pete? There are plenty of fellow corrado owners willing to help get this 100%, if you were closer i would definately be round giving you a helping hand. It must be worth that last extra push, seeing as you have yourself a daily cough...ahem, sax cough... cough... saxo

noooooooooooooo, don't let the scene boys get hold of this information!!! ROOFRACKS :nono: there will be ratted rado's with old picnic boxes and tricyles at shows across the country. transportation of goods only allowed
  20. completely stripped the head on my VR6, cleaned the head and block ready for painting. valves to grind in this week, rings to go in hopefully on saturday or sunday.
  21. they don't need planning permission for speed camera's. I've already tried that one, because its the government they can literally do whatever the fcuk they want. and they say this country is a democracy :bad-words:

    first week

First things first have you given it a good service? might just need a good flushing out, new oil, plugs etc. has it been stood for long? water temp may have been the thermostat being stuck shut, if it continues to get hot check the radiator hoses make sure they are warm. mfa is usually wrong on corrado's, i wouldnt worry unless your actually getting 18mpg. again, oil light might just need a good service, check the blue/yellow plugs are securly fixed to the oil filter housing at the front of the engine as thats why my oil light went a bit crazy once.
  23. good news travels fast, bad news travels faster as you will find out. I've heard good and bad things but you won't find out until you learn yourself
  24. i know what you mean but if your not looking at tuning and setting up your suspension theres no point spending that extra money on them. not saying they are not road use, just saying perhaps not worth the extra money if your only looking to lower your car
