  1. jebus, i really need to look into my car. im getting average of about 32mpg on my way to work, highest i've ever seen motorway cruising is 35mpg :?
  2. when i bought the car it had standard shocks and cut down springs so i replaced them with coils which strangely enough rubbed on the tyre so i had to get spacers to run the wheels. put them all on and one day as i was driving my wheel started to vibrate more than usual, so i pulled over to find 2 wheel bolts loose, 1 missing and one actually sat on the wheel itself... i think it was partly my fault for not getting longer wheel bolts i did love the mille's but the previous owner absolutely ruined the car and had hit a curb and buckled em so they had to go.
  3. think you've seen me once phil, i was at the ketch meet ages ago in my old corrado. was going to come over and say hello but wasn't sure who you were lol cheers for comments, just trying to decide on wheels over winter but i like how the speedlines sit a bit too much
  4. oucho! im getting 100 miles to £20 so 300 miles to a tank. think i'll get my car vagcom'ed asap!!!
  5. well that has to be the most irritating thing this week, in a bad mood, looking forward to this race and for no apparent reason decides that it doesn't want to let me hear people talking which then makes me in more of a bad mood and trying to sort out this :bad-words: stupid retarded xbox . GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :censored:
  6. My corrado has done something similar, setting off to devon for a week (from hull) and doing the checks when the rubber seal around the expansion tank decides to die, so got my mates mk4 golf and knicked the rubber and it was fine still to this day lol... but, all week i was having a little problem with the clutch and having to pump it every so often after a long drive without touch the pedal. so after 1000miles drive around devon, newquay etc. it decides no more to the clutch (master cylinder) and does not want to do anymore.... 5 miles away from my house, which just meant chucking it in a gear and driving it home. lucky does not come close lol
  7. Yes please, that would be great! For most of the wiring was it just a case of redoing the existing wiring or did you buy adapter wiring? think kris was asking about the dash fitment, im also wondering about that, it looks like there wasn't any fabrication needed but what do i know lol!
  8. Right, seeing as im supposed to be doing college work i thought this would be a good time to start a members thread. I been meaning to for ages/years and i just keep forgetting. My previous car was a red 1.8 16v in my signature that i loved/hated with a passion. It broke every other day, must have gone through 4 engines from various different non wragging related incidents (cracked head, water pump going bye bye, oil pump, snapped cam belt etc etc.) but i still loved driving it when it was working. I once changed a cam belt in a layby to get me home. anyways pictures of said car... then bought some new wheels, after a giant scare with spacers and longer wheels bolts So i read up about r32 conversions and thought, hmm... ill have a piece of that and bought a corrado with a blown VR6 engine and bought the audi 3.2 engine to throw in it. Then i had a rethink, its a 100% standard car, standard brakes, standard suspension, paintwork needs attention and im wanting to chuck 250bhp+ through it... not a good idea and i really do not want to throw all my money at it straight away. So that engine went to fund some coilovers Anyway, enough of that, heres some pictures!Touch wood been an absolute pleasure to drive since i got it on the road, few little niggles but other than that im absolutely chuffed to bits with it! Can't find the day i picked it up but day i got it in my garage, theres hundreds of pictures so im just going to put up a shortened set. work started engine nice and pretty after cleaning etc off to my dads where he has a little more room to work on my car than my garage lol engine back together!!! havn't got any pictures of it all back together before KW's happened :D and as it is now :D next on the list is a proper detail, but it has come a HUGE way from the pink i bought it as. few plans for it but i just want to get it running 100% and replacing every little part thats rattling etc enjoy!!!
  9. nah its fine mate, like you say it was a bit of fun! and it really was, can't believe i got stuck at the bottom of the hill though!!! i liked alex's daring erm... take manoeveur on me, in the form of i saw a car flash past my rear end into the gravel lol
  10. I really cannot get over how nice that looks and sits! do you have any wiring diagrams for the clocks? what have you done about the mileage, did you just find some random clocks and record the mileage on both? i presume you found some gti 98-99 clocks with 160mph on them? If its alright i might have to badger you with some questions about my possible install?
  11. There are guides kicking around the place for brake conversions. Basically you can use the same hub, its the carriers you need. under standard wheels you can fit 288's, what i don't know however is if you can fit porsche brakes on 288's. People use carriers from seat cupra r's (leons use 323 and ibiza's use 312's i think) but they are hard to find and expensive for obvious reasons
  12. Yea same with me monkey, i went down the inside and saw your front end alongside and the next thing i know we have hit and spinning off. was crazy following you, wish i had saved my replay... saw you driving along then all of a sudden you did a bunny hop about 20ft in the air, very funny!
  13. was a fantasic bunch of races, sorry i went, my internet went down then it was taking too long to sort itself out so i went to the pub lol first race was hilarious, i was leading by a good lead then rolled it and couldn't get up a hill to the pit lane... alex to the rescue... and then everybody else decided to park themselves in the rear
  14. just seen this on edition and i was thinking, hang on... im sure hes on rado forum but how have i missed this! that install is beautiful, looks loads better than the TT or mk4 dash! absolutely stunning, may have to ask your help for a future project. been considering putting the mk4 clocks in for ages but don't know where to start. guessing you have to find something along the lines of a very early mk4/cabby 3.5 for the clocks? how was the dash for fitment, i presume it needed trimming
  15. This doesn't have the eyebrow but you can compare the difference between painted and unpainted grills
  16. and like magic he appears to save the fair maiden... riding on horseback from the burning castle. roughly translated: hopefully should be on
  17. try soaking it in elbow grease, i hear that shifts anything :D
  18. can't really just check the filter, i reckon if hes taking the fuel filter off it might as well be changed so fuel additive might be best first option. probably cheapest and easiest. no point buying new filter if the injectors are blocked  i don't know how good this additive is but i always chuck a load of optimax through my system for a couple of weeks for a good clean
  19. funny that, so did i! what did you race? 1/10th off road wins! i get the shakes from the start as well, thats why everyone goes quiet lol No way!? At what level, Club, National? I may have even raced against you! I did 1/10th off-road for a long time, about 10-15 years, then I did touring cars for a bit, but since my little boy arrived I dont get the time. Will be great once he is old enough to come with me, and then to race! I used to race for Team Losi via their uk distributor (and they still let me order bits to this day!) lol, yea same raced for about 15 years. i've still got my car, ran a losi for ages then went on to the x-5. used to race, local, regional and done a few nationals but im north east so doubt i have raced against you. few of my shells below if you recognise them http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y212/s ... 006123.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y212/s ... job004.jpg
  20. funny that, so did i! what did you race? 1/10th off road wins! i get the shakes from the start as well, thats why everyone goes quiet lol
  21. gutted gutted gutted :( i had mine setup almost perfect this time and was putting in some good lap times and i reckon my setup would stand a good chance of keeping up with jamin. bloody women and bathroom breaks!
  22. i've got a gearbox to change tonight but if we get that done in reasonable time i'll probably be on with my mate.
  23. i know, tell me about it!!! gutted, was clockwatching the tom tom thinking, ooooh gonna make it! then, "im going to stop at the service for the toilet" which i knew ended all chances of getting back on time :( any idea what order everyone finished in?
  24. you finished this weeks racing then kris?
