  1. I think the 2.0l one has ribs across the inlet tracts, and the 1.8 doesn't? pretty sure my 1.8 doesn't anyways. hth.
  2. Thinking about picking up some of these bad boys for driving in.... sure to pull the ladies! :norty:
  3. I think i've got a good visualisation of the OEM VR sump now. It's not perfect, but I took measurements from a picture of someone else's sump
  4. is this the one that joins between engine block and front engine mount?
  5. if anyone has an R32 intake going spare, i'd be happy to analyse it for you.
  6. Kev what is your sensible driving mpg like? I'm imagining it's better than the stock VR but i would think it also depends on things like when the turbo comes on etc etc.
  7. S2s are nowhere near £10k mic. Maybe they're not your cup of tea though?
  8. same, i got an ATE one when I did my rear beam and they're a lot under £100.
  9. "car must be garaged at night". seems both companies have clauses to their very cheap premiums!
  10. But I am happy your Corrado is insured with them Kip; I just did the online quote thing but no option to select a Corrado :-( so I did the next best thing and chose a mk2 golf gti and voila! £150 a year fully comp! now if only I was 30.... lol.
  11. There's a lot of terms and conditions with that company, the one that rules me out (despite my old car) is they only insure people over the age of 30.
  12. I think carb cleaner works pretty good.
  13. if you can find the part numbers (or get an ebay seller to check them for you) all the derivatives seem to have a different letter at the end, so are slight variations. The cross-member (under rad support panel) should all be pretty similar though as they're not related to PAS or anything, just width of the chassis rails which are same on Mk2 and Cs. Also, Mk2 Golf parts start 191... and Corrado parts are 535... (I think)
  14. 4 pots are the same, VR is different. i've found a whole heap of them on ebay. Some from the Mk2 Golf will fit but be very careful as the rad support comes in PAS and non PAS ( i can elaborate if you need) but IIRC all the cross members (looks like a giant dog bone) are the same. hope this helps, Jon. p.s. some pics of my ones many many pages back in the Plum thread. try an in-topic search for cross member etc.
  15. tbh, you're going to need to be flexible on what condition you find wings in. I've never found any DBP ones and have decided I will use the most solid set I can find and then get them resprayed. My 2p :salute:
  16. yeah the big bolts that go horizontally through the bush :D
  17. the bolts that hold the beam to the brackets are like 100+ lbft though. some serious torque needed there.
  18. Hi matey, I have a pair of ABS hubs you can have if you like. They're pretty rusty but the bearings still spin free (perhaps too free :/) Im in oxford, not looking for anything for them really but they'll need to be collected. I have pics on my other computer, can send them later if you like.
  19. Great updates Alex! Sorry to hear of all the problems you have had :-( Corrados can be so cruel. I'm kinda wondering why you didn't use the battery from the car you went up in to check the sunroof mech? That's what I would have done.
  20. You're right davidwort, the front subframe and rear beam do have locating hole which can be adjusted. I certainly remember the NSR beam bracket bolted into slightly ovalised holes, so I'm guessing it's possible to mount the beam slightly off.
