What featured/cover car Corrado can you remember!

 -
nothing i dont get the time to work on it, too busy with work and family. Did you get a break down for the bill, it seems a bit excessive for the work you mentioned even if they did make the brake pipes and stuff, engine rebuilds normally would come to that amount of monies. Shame about the G man, get it back on the road! N yup ive got a full breakdown, honestly i questioned it alot aswell as its a large sum of money but it all added up tbh. I called a local Vw specialist and asked for a quote for the same work and was told 1400 give or take a couple hundred lol so i figured i did alright. These lot deal with all sorts of cars but tend to do rebuilds on luxury motors; astons n the like and tbh their work aint cheap but at the same time i feel confident leavin my car there knowin they'll look after it. They did some random tidyin in the bay for me 2 for free without me even askin which was nice lol. When i pick up that bloody report ill update with everything that was done, ive slept 2 hours in the last 2 days, im not really with it right now lol. Hey Zak, the body is pretty straight, its got 2 small presure dinks on the doors along the swage lines so i dont know if they can be pulled? It has also got some rust on the front two arches but its just surface. Ill be honest, the factory paint finish is really really good, looks lovely right now but up close has tonnes of defects. Not sure if i have the balls for the wet sanding but if it flops it just means ill have to respray it which i want to do sooner rather than later anyway. Im not sure where the best place to get some touch up paint mixed up would be? Ive got some halfords touch up stuff and its the same colour as my bumper which has more purple pearl than red!

I did plan on painting the front but the vr chewed the money up lol. N yup the indicators and fogs need protection, one of my fogs is cracked at the mo and i got 2 fresh ones on the way so want to laminx em before putin em on... Dude, whats this mushroom leather u speak of? Im goin to check your thread now lol.
-
I did think of that but then the valvers thread would end up getting lost sooner or later! This way it'll always be here! Thanks for the kind comments... Whats happening with your G man? I still aint seen it!! Bro, the bill has murdered me lol. Like im screwed for now lol, i definately need better luck. I did think of getting a bra but i really cant get myself round to them! I might get some clear laminx to protect the lights, did consider smoke but i want to keep the car looking classy to some extent! I would like some single piece 17s (no way can i afford splits, paint first lol). My rado can be yours younger sibling lol. You've got the storm interior too right?
-
I cant wait to get crackin on these free mods from next week on!!! Going to be fun... 8) N yup, wat an awesome first bill LOL, if i did have more time i would have sourced some 2nd hand mk4 rear calipers for both sides etc but you live and learn right!! Out of interest, now that my brakes are sorted i would quite like to change my fuel lines and fuel filter next as they're looking a bit 'old' now, these expensive parts? Please tell me u can stil buy the fuel lines unlike the stupid brake lines lol.
-
Thanks fella, i like to keep it discreet, going to lose the vr6 rear badge too... the right pedal does the talking/barking for me!!! :D :D The leathers are nice, i need to treat them though, maybe even furniture clinic em one day! I want to get all the carpets out and clean em up like Butler did with his and then run my cables for my sounds as these are all free mods lol.
-
Good plan! Im just going to leave it now untill i get a 50mm splitter... Ill do both together..
-
Damn, nah its home now!! Oh well, ill leave it for now. Ill fit it when i have the funds for a 50mm splitter, so much easier to do that when the cars on a ramp too. Thanks fella.
-
Hi guys, my lower grill literally has a huge hole in it and the previous owner gave me a spare. So i tried fittin it today but i couldnt figure out how to get the old one out? Seems like a bumper off job or didnt i look close enough and i missed some kind of fixing? Thanks Abdul

Oops, i took the badge of to paint it black, sorry about that lol.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo where to start eh... Had the rado towed to the garage ive always used (torque exhausts) to have the crackpipe changed and an oil service and mot done. I chose only to do an oil service as the 'full' service was carried out about 3-4 months ago. Anyway, while the crackpipe was being done the garage suggested having the thermostat done which seemed like a good plan so that was sorted. While looking around the bay they found this... Bodged, taped up coolant hose so had that replaced too, car was at this point running sweet and we were all sure the mot would be easy peasy... YEAH RIGHT! So it failed on: Rear offside caliper (totaly seized) so new bought Brake lines fully corroded along with hoses Fuel leak up front somewhere and a few other bits, ive forgotten, sorry Some pics of the retarded pipes etc Calipers were sorted, new brake lines made up using copper piping and fuel leak sorted. Ive got an engineers report but i left that along with the actual fail list at the garage so once i pick it up ill update properly on all the parts that were actually changed. I forgot to take pics of the new lines while the car was up on the ramps, does look quite cool though. Anyway, bill came to £1100 which has left me in a pretty bad state to be honest but its probably my own fault for buying a car with only 3months mot... heart over head again! Now i was on the way to the garage with a mate and i hear this crazy sounding car behind us shooting around the roundabout wth a boxter following it, yup it was my rado with the mechanic 'test' driving it . Suddenly i felt the love again for it, the way it looks on the move and the way it sounds and goes... Anyway, drove the car home and tbh i am impressed, it does drive welll. I couldn't be arsed to wash it so i just wiped it down with some quick detailer and fitted my smoked plates and stubby aerial. Normally i wouldnt just wipe a dirty car but seeing as im going to correct the paint anyway why not  Sorry for the crappy pics, i just put it straight into the drive. Crazy camber... Now, the paint may look good in the above pics and tbh it is in general in terms of finish but the car is far from perfect... The first half of the bonnet and the first few inches of the wings are chipped really badly... Laquer peel on the front bumper which is the only part thats had paint since leaving VW in 94 lol. Shite colour match too.. The front arches also need attention tbh. Thing is, i did consider a front end spray job (not that i can afford it anymore after the mot rape) but i doubt the colour would ever match so will wait till i can get the whole car painted. In the mean time, i think this car is going to be the ultimate test of my detailing skills (not that im great or anything lol), ive been reading up alot on detailingworld about touching up paint, wetsanding etc so will give that a go in the next few weeks. The interior while nice is incredibly dirty so ill hopefully strip that out too sometime soon. Thanks for reading, Abdul

Are your fans working mate? The hottest i ever had my valver was after an 8 hour stop start stint between leicester and essex, i hit 128 degrees on my oil and that was on a humid day too! Im sure your temp readings are out aswell man, i mean 158 would surely cause some long term damage, when u popped the bonnet did u feel a serious blast of hot air?
-
Thats beautiful bro. No scrubbing? Stock arches? Its no wonder you didnt want to sell, it looks stunning. 8)
-
ebay bargain.... 99p no reserve..!!! Wow, i always search the bay for any wheel bargains to be had, id love to refurb some splits myself for my vr! Oh well, search continues!! Anymore plans for the rado?
-
Looks awesome mate, soo purposeful!!
-
Well i should be at Edition38 but ill be fasting so not sure... Ill definately be at westside and players too. Just the general 'scene' shows i guess!! I need to bag my self a spin in a VRT, must be immense amounts of fun in a scary way!
-
I want dibs on your engine if u do it lol. Im pretty sure psi tuning and the likes all charge around 4k drive in drive out which is hardly cheap! Im sure u could do it for less than half that if u know how though...
-
Need some help, what to do with my car im trying to sell..
Abdul replied to -Neil-'s topic in General Car Chat
replied once but its disappeared! as above i would def retax it. is it possible for you to keep the rado running and garage the new car? otherwise its worth checking with your insurers if they would run both cars for a set period of time. with regard to the doorcards, i have a set of late grey leather cards for sale for £150.. could be worth letting a prospective buyer know there are some available if needed. good luck, sometimes these things just take longer than we hope! What this man said, i'd either buy the doorcards or sell the rest of the interior and drop the price. Good luck fella. -
Im sure it is man... sounds good! Will have to catch up at a show some time!!
-
 No money for that buddy. Even then, im going to be a fool and try to get a bit more power n/a. Its just my thing i guess... How much power does yours make? 350 odd bhp? :salute:
-
LOL thanks matey, the valver wasnt bad, awesome on twistys but no grunt in the straights!! VR absolutely obliterates it tbh.
-
Give it a full service to start with and change the oil, coolant, all the filters and plugs. Clean the throttle body and ISV too... Theres alot of things to check really, check these threads.. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84789 viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84757 Hope u get it sorted mate.
-
Hey buddy, sounds ace! Seriously consider C5 OEM's wheels, they're sooo nice!!
-
Has you are so goin to hate me when i pop over lol. Id like to know how accurate my temps are too! Im willing to bet they're a bit off as i blew my crackpipe with both my oil and coolant temps reading pretty normal (oil was 112ish and coolant between 90-100, bare in mind i was stuck in traffic for about 45 mins)...
-
Sorry dude i forgot what wheels you have? A pic please? If i was looking to buy NICE wheels right now id buy Butler's (C5OEM's) wheels, the 17" bbs, proper classy set of wheels that modernise things a bit too. Btw, sorry to go off topic, what is a pack a head? EDIT: I see you've added a pic, yeah id get rid of em if u can afford to replace with something nicer.
