I have one of these, removed from a 16V that had a VR6 conversion last summer. In good working order - how soon do you need it for? Cheers Tom

Hi, I have a pretty good condition 90mm splitter, as removed from a 1993 VR6. It is in pretty good condition apart from one crack on the O/S corner, as pictured: I have manipulated the splitter in the pictures to 'open up' the crack so its more visible...when fitted it isn't all that visible but if you were to pop a bit of decent glue on there I think you'd probably make it almost invisible. Anyway, there it is...collection only please from Derbyshire DE56 2FL. £30 or near offer Cheers Tom

Hi, To cut a very long story short I have recently ended up buying two Corrados - these wheels were fitted to one of them and I have no use for them as I have acquired some different. They are fairly 'classic' looking 5 spoke wheels, a little like Borbet CB's. They are the following specification: Dimensions: 17 x 7 PCD: 5x100 ET: 35 CB: 57.1 They are all in good, used condition, balanced and ready to fit. Each wheel has small scuffs and some light kerb marks, but nothing excessive. It looks to me like they may have had a fairly basic refurb around the outer edges at some point in the past. There is no corrosion or lacquer peel and no sign of any damage or buckling etc. They all have tyres in good condition fitted, three of the tyres are 'Champiro HPZ-40' and one of them is an 'Autogrip Radial F107'. All are in 215/40R17 87W flavour and each tyre has 5mm (or ever so slightly more on a couple of them) of tread. The wear is even with no signs of major feathering or inner/outer edge wear. There are three generic 'VW' centre caps, one is unfortunately missing. Pictures, including one of them fitted to the car: So, to summarise, these are pretty decent wheels that would suit a Corrado, mk2, mk3 etc. They all have good tyres on and come balanced and ready to fit. Collection only please from Derbyshire, DE56 2FL. £200 collected Thanks, any questions please ask. Stainless is hard but its not tough. It doesn't have the tensile strength for the job of mounting load-critical components like brake carriers. If you're going to fit standard hex bolts then get hi-tensile jobbies in the right flavour and then get hold of some of the rounded bolt head covers that are used on kit cars to get them through the SVA. The covers are pennies and are worth using on all exposed bolt heads underneath the car if you plan on using it through the winter etc to prevent this kind of thing happening. No idea why VW chose cap-headed bolts though, although there'll be a method behind their perceived madness somewhere. Cheers Tom

Out of interest Chris, what's the VRM on it? I found a green storm about 5 years ago which had been laid up for about 5 years prior to me discovering it. Not long after I enquired whether it was for sale it mysteriously disappeared and I didn't see it again...just wondered if it might be the same car, although thinking about it I'm sure the one I looked at had more than 100k on the clock. Here's the link anyway Tom

Bit of a hard question to be honest. The fact its low milage and comes with a Shrick means that if it were in good running order and good condition bodywork wise (and original, unmessed with) then it'd be worth pretty strong money - maybe approaching £5k to the right buyer. But being stood for 4-5 years and the problems that that can cause means that it could be a big gamble. A lot will depend on how dry the storage is and what condition it was in before it was put in there. I imagine it'll want at the least a decent fluid change, and the engine spinning over with the plugs out and fresh oil in it to see what the condition is before you even try to start it. In my (relatively uneducated) opinion I would say that anything below £1000 and you've got a bargain, big time. From £1000 - 2500 you've paid a reasonable price on what could be a big gamble. £2500 and upwards and you're going to start to struggle to recoup the purchase cost should you decide its not worth putting back on the road and that it's better to break it. Unless of course you're willing to do what most of us do and pour money into them whether its worth it or not, because they're just a little bit special (the cars, not the owners, although having said that....) :-) Hope that helps a bit! Radiator Lower Fixing Bracket in Stainless
Purple Tom replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
It's worth mentioning that when I did the TDi conversion I bought what I was told were the last 2 remaining genuine items that were left, so if that is anything to go by then it's worth snapping these up while you get the chance! Incidentally, put me down for a pair please Dave :-) -
I doubt that the dealers would have any clocks available but if they did I imagine they'd be very expensive. Second hand clocks are fairly common though, I have two sets myself if you want a set? They are very easy to change, it can be done with the steering wheel still on or the wheel can be removed which is a 5 minute job if you've got the right tools. Tom
-
Yep, I've got one in good condition. Not the lightest thing in the world but I'll be willing to post it...drop me a PM if you want it. Cheers Tom

If you've changed the stat and thermostat housing then you might have unplugged the crank sensor and knock sensor plugs which are down near the starter motor area behind the radiator. Check that you haven't inadvertently plugged them back in to the wrong connectors, it is quite easy to accidentally plug the crank sensor into the knock sensor plug and vice versa. This would lead to the problem that you describe.

I've got a set in good condition, will do them for £50 posted for you matey. Cheers Tom

Rich - the Corrado ABS light will not work, end of. It's a completely different design. Can you post up a picture of the Golf ABS light?

Yeah, it'll be one of them that I'll ask nicely to see if they can find a space for it in their car and bring it back for me. I'd love to do Stanford but unfortunately I'm on nights that weekend. Happy to settle by Paypal, its one less thing to worry about for you, at least you've got payment for it then. Send me your address and I'll get it over to you. Cheers Tom
-
Yes please. Payment by Paypal ok? I'm not going to Stanford Hall however I will speak nicely to a couple of people that are and see if they will pick it up and bring it back for me. Whereabouts are you by the way? Thanks Tom

Hi Rory, I'd definitely be interested. I presume that price includes postage? Thanks, Tom
