Corrado Part Duex - 24V Aqua Blue - She's gone.
Sean_Jaymo replied to Sean_Jaymo's topic in Members Gallery
I don't think anyone would be interested in them Mic! Now that I go past it wearing nice shoes, it may inspire me to put the last chunk of cash required into it to get it going! The brake issue was definitely bitter sweet! -
I'm currently serving in the RAF (hence slow progress and no turbos!) as a Aircraft Mechanical Technician and I'm out about this time next year. I'm hoping to get into the ROV world but I'm very interested in the re-engineer scheme that they run. If any contacts are known, then I'll be your best friend! Anyway, back on topic! TURBO!!

Another day, another update! I've cured my brake light VCDS status issue. Turns out that my bulbs themselves were both blown unknown to me. I knew that one had gone, but wasn't aware of the other one having gone. I hadn't bothered to replace it as I was a long way from even getting it running, let alone being MOT'd. New bulb and VCDS shows brake light status as designed! Easy fix if a little frustrating that it was so simple! Got over to the local dealer to order up some bits ready for my to fit the exhaust in a few weeks time and whilst I was at it, I bought a set of locking wheel bolts. When did they become £40?! The wheels that were fitted had the wrong size tyres fitted and were catching the spring seat at the rear so the CHs are now fitted securely. It's looking like a car more and more as the days pass! Also refitted for the first time in 18 months, the lower dash trims. Get the exhaust fitted at some point soon and then the final testing can be done before I get it ready to be put back on the road! I could do with a new mirror though since the old one fell off! A photo for all you photo lovers! -
What do you do at Wood Group Fla? I'm looking good to get a job with them next year!

I popped over for the day, I felt old compared with most of the audience and I'm only 30! Lots of lovely cars though and quite a few sheds but glad I went along. First time in 3 or 4 years and I'm sad to see that the mk3/4/5 and Audi A3/4/5 wheel of choice is still a Bentley alloy and that Air has got a solid clutch of the must haves to be show worthy! I think I need to attend a bit more of a grown up show! Goldies Corrado was beautiful and even smelt nice! I loved the Caddy next to you as well!

Always a fan of the Scirroco stand Eric! Yours is looking great as ever!

Looking forward to a good and warm sunny day :)

I need some studs for my manifold as I sheared a few myself. Let us know where you got some new ones!
-
I'm sure there is, but then I do have the poverty spec AUE 24v so I'll think of changing to the BDE or even a R32 lump before I do go turbo. If I feel crazy that is! I've got 2 different size tyres, I can't remember exactly what they are as they're off the car in the spare room until it goes back on the road and I buy some locking nuts! The fronts are 40 profile and the rears are 40 from memory. They came from Billcor, the resident wheel sources! I've read the first half of your thread, epic transformation!
-
I wish the 24v manifolds would take boost without breaking too easily. It looks so super oem and I'm slightly jealous! Congrats, you've obviously worked hard to both earn the cash and improve your car. What size tyres are you running get on your ch's?
-
Ah replacement lump, good idea. You going to strip the old one slow time then? I've got a few things from c and r and have always been impressed.

Taper bearings you see. They fall apart if too tight or too loose.

The gaps in the face look like really odd comedy coc ks.

Trimsport VW Corrado Carbon Fibre Rear Number Plate Holder
Sean_Jaymo replied to G60MAT's topic in Suppliers Forum
Bad luck mate. I would off paid £200 for a plinth. I know how expensive high quality carbon is. Try over 4k for a screen sun shade on a typhoon jet! That's just me though. I -
I don't think I could choose a tooo leetaa over a 6 though, maybe as a second car to be used as a track weapon. To enjoy the most from a tfsi, you'll be banned very quickly!
-
Ah that could be interesting to know if I fancy another project. I do love the sound of a 6 pot so that's my main driver!
-
Cheers for clearing that all up! It's what I like about this place, There are other big named forums which refuse to disclose this kind of stuff.
-
Without wanting to drag this off course, is there much information on running TFSI engines in a Corrado?
-
What's he done all of a sudden to prompt this banning? He hasn't really been on here since his selling of braided lines went belly up. Don't get me wrong, I didn't trust him, but that was just me.

Trimsport VW Corrado Carbon Fibre Rear Number Plate Holder
Sean_Jaymo replied to G60MAT's topic in Suppliers Forum
Any further news on the rear number plate light holder? Mine is potentially going back on the road at some point in the not too distant future and I'd like to replace the sample I sent you with a nice new shiny carbon piece! -

Well done on the wiring, I need to get on top of mine really, it is a bit tight to clip in! I've got a few hours tomorrow, maybe you've just given me inspiration to fill those hours! -
I personally can't stand the 'scene' take a perfectly good car and make it undriveable. It's ridiculous You can't call it art either. A Polo is not art.

Another day and more updates. I've managed to sort out my abs light. It was bit of mix and match of Mk3 light circuit board and Corrado ABS housing. It's tight and you have to modify it to fit properly and is not the purists choice on OEMness but I struggled like hell to find a B4 light. Anyway. It's all good and I have an ABS light now and all works well! I do have a weird problem though, according to VCDS, both the engine AND ABS systems are showing the brakes as being on when they are not! A lot of diagnosis later shows that the ECU's are both kicking out a voltage on their independent brakes ON pins when they should be reading voltage instead! I did try another ABS pump and that has the same fault but has a software coding issue that won't clear! Very very weird! 1 step forward and 1 step back eh! I've managed to drive it from one end of my driveway to the other and I think I also have a vacuum leak as the brakes go soft and you can here the engine idle fluctuate slightly after you use the vacuum. A second or 2 later and the brakes are firm for the first press then go soft again! Easy to fix though so not all so bad! -
Older cars may be banned from central London

How does it work if you have a new engine in an old car?
