yeah normally comes as part of the chip. think the sns stage 5 puts the limiter at 11,000 rpm as apparently the back pressure from hitting it can make it go bang. quote] Ye I know with a 65mm you wouldn't want to go near the limiter, still suprised that the standard was that low On the subject of rados on tv, I was watching Men and Motors top 100 most popular cars the other day. I only caught 60ish up to about 25 then the episode finished, not sure when the next one is (may have already gone). Any idea if the Corrado was in that? They had some right mediocre stuff like Honda Civic at about 40 :cuckoo: Plenty of footage of quirky classics like quattro, cossie and 300zx though :D

Got home and opened mine today, thanks! And can I echo what Jim said ^ Hope you have a good year, I'll be throwing as much business your way as I can. Although you won't be seeing my car as much cos you did such a good job on it! Merry xmas, hope you get a bit of a break!

I've been driving VERY sensibly the last few days  I keep dreaming about writing the Rado off so I'm a bit paranoid now... That, and my parrot getting sick are my 2 main re-occuring nightmares- the Mrs wasn't happy when I told her as she obviously didn't feature as a high concern for me

Good post- I don't think there can be enough of these at this time of year, especially on a forum with so much discussion about upping the power of our motors :D Fair play to you for admitting being silly too- that's the most important thing to stop you doing it again. I have freinds who have had several accidents like this and they never really say 'ye I was being a bit of a d*ck', hence the reason they keeping crashing :cuckoo: I know they won't get away with it forever. On the subject of trees- they are one of the worse things to hit but I was a bit annoyed at the ideas some people had near me. There's a dangerous stretch of road near Kidderminster that a few people have died on in the last few years. I don't know the details of all the accidents but some were in icy conditions and some appear to be a result of people taking corners too fast. Although I have great sympathy with the families that lost people in these accidents I couldn't believe it when I read in the paper that they were campaigning to cut all the hedges and trees down along the edge of this road. Considering some of them are vetran Oak trees several hundred years old isn't this a bit much? Wouldn't it be a better idea to try and prevent people driving dangerously on this stretch? I don't know what the outcome of it was but seemed mad to me.

I don't think people usually use rotrex on G60s usually VRs, Lysholms are the most common. I thought about it a while ago but stuck with the G-lader. I read a few stories about Lysholms siezing (albeit with smaller pullies) and then people having massive problems getting repairs and replacements because BBM are based in USA. However they sound awesome! I think people have used Eatons on G60s too?

I never knew that about the rev limiter being that low. I'm guessing chipping it stops that?

Nugget in Cardiff today, not sure what type

Mine did that when the ISV wasn't on properly so could be a problem round there?

People who say things like that about Corrados, know nothing about them. I've got a mate at work who likes to take the pi55 out of my car, saying its a banger and laughs that its 15 years old. He knows nothing about the car. Oh and this is from a bloke that drives a bright green Fester. :pukeright:  Ye I think she was just winding me up cos so many people were raving about it- but why do people feel the need to comment if they don't have a clue? I'm always quite proud of the fact that my car IS 18 years old and still on the road (and faster than most things you can pick up for under £2k, old or new) But hey, I guess if everyone knew about and loved Rados they'd be a status symbol for tw*ts instead of a cult classic! :D

I took the G60 to a work "away day" on Friday. I knew there were a few car nuts in our department but didn't realise how much attention the Rado would get! I had 5 different people come over to ask about it, 2 of them said they had always wanted one and chatted for ages about ins and outs of ownership. I think my boss was a bit miffed that they were staring at my car when were supposed to be looking at a landscaping project on the opposite side of the car park! I only got one woman wrinkle her face up and sarcastically say something about it just needing some go faster stripes and a bigger sound system to complete the look- I think she was offended by the noise!

One moment springs to mind- I'd just been to G-werks and had a load of mods done. The only thing I didn't have checked/worked on was the charger. I knew it was a jabba serviced one but it only had 15k miles on it. I was floored it on a roundabout in Cardiff, and heard a bit of a 'pop' and then all the hissing and whining of the charger went away... The car just about managed to accelerate along the dual carriageway but I couldn't feel any boost. My first thought- O MY GOD I'VE BLOWN MY G-LADER UP  I pulled over when I could, swearing and shouting, popped the bonnet and found that one of my pipes had popped off the intercooler- All the new mods had obviously put too much pressure on a tired hose clamp  To say I was relieved was an understatement...

Passed MOT today 8) Celebrated by tearing around like a nutter and listening to the sweet music of the G-lader all evening- big grins :D

Toad- as shown in my picture, if you want it for 'after-hours-funtime', I can confirm it hits the spot...

u been drinking? You've confused him with me I think. I gave up on your exhaust and bought a super sprint. :) Haha no I'm just about to start though! Ye sorry I got you mixed up. Has it just been transferred from my big store of unwanted parts, to yours? Does that mean all my wrapping was in vain!!? P1010491a.JPG[/attachment:1adksg36] Considering the other parcel looked like a mumified child, I got some VERY funny looks at the Post Office...

Here's my graphs from the RR day at Stealth: climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfFile0001.jpg[/attachment:1kmlrm1s] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfCopy of File0007.jpg[/attachment:1kmlrm1s] Copy of File0006.jpg[/attachment:1kmlrm1s] The only bad point is that the transmission loss seems quite a lot  But I'm not too bothered as it drives like a dream! I'm having my MOT next Thurs at DG. My gf's Corolla is being done the day after so if they both fail we're really screwed! Still have a few small jobs to do on it but I don't have a garage and it's always dark and cold at the moment :( Roll on spring

Any luck with the exhaust mate? You manage to 'unbodge' it?
-
Not seen that before. What benefit does it give? Just less likely to snap?
-
Haha OK I'll take that as a no... That may make a diff to measured boost, it's more space to fill afterall. You're not far from me, looks like a shiny set up I'll look out for you!
-
Sorry I didn't read properly before- you have tried a boost gauge too. If you have a chip to match the pulley I can't see a remap making much of a difference. Do you have a standard intercooler?
-
oh,so that was you talking to Chris at the end then comparing figures? Yep :D was well chuffed with it. Nice to see Chris and Jonathans G60s, something a bit different. Sorry I didn't match you're face to you're username- you didn't take your car did you?
-
I'll stay out of this one!

I wouldn't trust the MFA readings to be honest. I get a max of 1800 on it and yet I got 230 BHP at the flyweel last week on Stealths rollers with a totally standard engine head. Don't ask me why but I kindof get the feeling the readings can't 'keep up' with the actual pressure, like it's always slightly behind. put in a boost gauge and you'll get a proper reading.

Burgandy C on Porhill Road in Shrewsbury today, got a wave from the driver

Thats crazy- I expected a big chavvy type kit but not that... What the hell is it? It looks like a Corrado has bred with a Rhino!!

If you put USBs anywhere near my parrot, he wrecks them: 000_0031.jpg[/attachment:1o9ziso9] Sorry couldn't resist...
