lj16v send Kipvw a pm this morning to check out those last two places, but either way don't miss this show, and moreover 25th Corrado aniversary. Even if all the places are taken on paper, I would still attend, as there are bound to be one or two who for reasons yet unknown wont make it there. Besides its a brill show anyway, with loads of Corrado owners to meet and catch up with.. Regards the convoy, everyone is welcome to join in even if you aren't in your Corrado for whatever reason. I am going to work out a route today and put some apprx times that i expect to be near various key points. If you would like to join us along the route, pm me your or your group's contact mobile number and a point along the route where we can easily gather you up ie services etc. I will then call you with our eta time as we progress along the route toward wherever you are.

The tailgate will be made to mimic the original. Buyers will have the choice of fitting the original glass screen or a Lexan type, but the tailgate will accept either. All carbon tailgates will be made to accept fitting of the electric rear spoiler. The number plate plinth will be fitted in the same way as the original. I have asked if LWS Design will offer a carbon number plate plinth, and they feel this should be ok to do. The only omission will be the rear wiper spindle hole. This feature is often deleted by many owners, and serves little function on the Corrado as the rear window is not prone to being obscured by spray due to its raked angle unlike the flat Golf rear screen. This having been said, it will still be possible to fit the rear wiper if individuals feel they must retain it. The tailgate will attach to the chassis via the original hinges, and will accept all the original fittings, ie lights, lock, gas rams. Happy to help with this info as I have been largely responsible for driving the proposal forward, but do contact Andrew at LWS Design to confirm specification and secure your order at the discounted Forum / CCGB offer price.

Reading this, and with my own group's plans in mind, it sounds like we could field a convoy to define all convoys, to pull in all of us from the South journeying up to the venue. With a little coordination and planing, would be great way to kick off the first of two 25th birthday gatherings. For my own part we were looking at an early start from West Sussex Setting off at 6am to arrive at 8.30ish. If we were to set out a limited number of pick up points along the route where groups can gather and join the convoy, this could work well. Anyone of you up for this?

Entirely possible Jim, but might offend ones OCD requirement for symmetry. keep working on the ideas, but don't forget you need first and foremost a carbon fibre tailgate to play this game ;-)

Guys, don't get too carried away now, the text does say that the pic is of the donor tailgate for the mould manufacture. I'm having to reign in my excitement at the prospect of finally getting the carbon tailgate. But hey we are in progress now and only a few weeks to wait until my shiny new carbon tailgate arrived. The struts on mine are new as I changed them before they went obsolete, so yer the gate probably will fly open as you say :-D. I will Post pics as soon as I have the finnished item, but in the mean time will Post up progress.

After years of campaigning, and with thanks to the guys at LWS Designs, the end of the long wait for a carbon fibre tailgate is finally in sight. Today at JMR we stripped the Corrado tailgate to be used for the mould. This will be delivered to LWS Designs this weekend, and the manufacture of the mould will begin. We hope to see product in the next 8 weeks, so if you are interested in making a purchase get in touch with LWS ASAP. The full carbon tailgates will retail at £650.00, but a special offer has been extended to the Forum / CCGB of £585.00. This is a superb price for a UK produced panel made to the highest standard.

Hi Lenny, Give me a call I can get very near your budget with good quality AP coilover kit. We have fitted a number of these kits to Corrado, and just recently to a local VR6. Indeed the owner would be happy I'm sure for you to have a demo drive to afford you actual experience of the ride quality before you buy in. AP are made by the KW group and are great value from a quality German TUV approved brand. Look forward to hearing from you.

Well done for getting stuck, good to see another Corrado getting the attention it needs. I see in your pic you still have the bumper fitted? I assume you are going to remove this along with the front panel and crossmember? It makes engine and transmission removal a piece of cake.

Hi Lance, I would take two chrome Corrado script badges from you. Pretty please!

As soon as the first unit is ready I will take delivery, and it will be fitted as a matter of priority. I will take some pics and post em up. But don't wait for this as quality is assured, just have a look at LWS Design products and you will buy with confidence. At JMR we embrace the opportunity to fit LWS Design panels as we know quality and fit is guaranteed.

Excellent news, am delighted to hear that after many years of trying to get this component produced, LWS Designs are going to add another quality VAG panel to their already comprehensive range. Have placed my order for a full carbon tailgate , and feel sure many more orders will follow suit. With the tailgate going into production it is now possible to equip the Corrado with carbon fibre panels front to back reducing weight from the top of the chassis and lowering the centre of gravity. Sure this wont be every owners priority, but this is only one advantage to composite panels. Many more benefits are to be had from carbon and fibreglass panels, and it is great that LWS support the Corrado, especially at a time when dealer is offering ever declining parts availability.

If your car was running without these faults prior to the cam belt being changed, then indeed overheating and poor engine response could be attributed to your current condition. However in fairness to your garage it is equally possible, that through nothing more than coincidence, your car has developed another fault, not caused by your garage. In either case I would strongly recommend you contact your garage and voice your concern, therein giving them a chance to evaluate and rectify the problem. Approach this situation fairly, and given that your garage are decent guys I'm sure you will reach a mutually agreeable resolve.

Your best move now would be to post up a pic to illustrate your problem. Doing this will overcome terminology and descriptive issues. Happy to help you Fella, but I think we need to be "singing off the same sheet".

I think, from what you are saying, your ECU vacuum hose is "buggered". This is the only hose to come from the ECU, and supplies vital boost / vacuum info to the ECU MAP sensor. This hose is available from dealer off the roll, and you require a length exactly one metre long to connect the ECU to the top vac outlet on the rear of the throttle valve.

Well done looks like you have found yourself a very clean and honest example of our loved Coupe. The G60 is, for my part the right choice. Enjoy your years of ownership to come.

All early, pre 1992 model year UK spec cars were supplied without ABS. The reason for this being the left hand drive cars had a totally different ABS system and layout that could not be fitted to right hand drive models for the UK. ABS system was re-engineered by VAG, and applied to right hand drive UK spec Corrados from 92 model year on. This is factory 92 model year, not UK registration year. So in theory N Chassis designate Corrados and onward, ie wvwzzz50zN should have ABS systems fitted as standard.

Attention please to any of you who have modified driveshafts to fit 02M TT Quattro gearbox into G60 Corrado. Can any of you supply me with a driveshaft length for the longer offside shaft? There is so much conflicting detail on this subject, so short of mocking the whole fit together and generating the required info longhand, I was hoping one of you Guys have been here before and could allow me to fast track my shafts for shortening. Any help will be much appreciated.

Agreed, Gliptone products are top quality. Have been using Gliptone cleaner and conditioner on all my own and customer's cars interiors for many years, and have never had disappointment from the results.

I have a set. Give me a call to discuss. Look forward to hearing from you. 01903718684. John JMR

I have adapted my own late grille to fit early front panel and can confirm the top tabs do line up without modification.

Every day, is a school day. Interesting hidden detail. Thank you for sharing.

Joe Clarke who runs Trim Deluxe will re-trim your headlining for you. Always found Joe to offer high quality professional work, at very fair price.

Mine is another weekend warrior, only sees the road when there is a convergence of ; available time, good weather, clear road (very early morning run), and an event to go to. Of course the other crucial part is that it is actually in road going state, and not subject to more tuning! My time in my Corrado is always highly entertaining, G60 PJM is 22 years old this year and 20 of those have been in my ownership. The Corrado numbers are in marked decline. I rarely see another Corrado out on the roads, plenty in my workshop though. I am looking forward to the big birthday meets this year, and the gathering of large numbers of owners and their rides. This is likely, sadly, to be the last time we will see significant numbers of Corrados assembled together as one display, cameras ready!
