Hi Sancho, sent you a pm as requested, as a first response to this sale. I thought you were going to call me? Any chance of having that discussion tom morning before you choose to split or sell as job lot? I will be about early tommorrow as fitting engine at the workshop Regards, John

No probs John. Give me a call on Tuesday and we can arrange to tick some boxes. You are welcome to observe. Can't do Monday as am at Thruxton for the day.

Yes there often is a great deal of difference. You very much get what you pay for. My advice would be buy genuine part, or the same part as manufactured for VW, but sourced from a motor factor. You want the later superseded style slave cylinder with the resin body, not the earlier cast metal bodied item.

Just discover that my seats are heated but no loom present, advice please?

The job is not at all too bad nor difficult to complete, given that you have good vehicle DIY skills and tooling. The in dash switch I believe is now obsolete, but this is easily checked on Etka or by a quick call to your local TPS / Dealer. The relays and wiring can be sourced as aftermarket items. Of course you would be best employed trying to source the OEM loom and components from one of the many Corrados being broken for sale. There were early and late style switches produced, the item you require will largely depend on wether you have a pre or post face lift dashboard. The early switch was typically the harder to find as not as many Corrados were fitted with this option. Happy hunting. -
Hi John, I think you are getting a little confused with regard to the location and function of certain sensors and senders. The rad fan temp sensor is located in the radiator. The senders / sensors on the block relay oil pressure, temperature . The only temperature sensors on the engine, are located around the cylinder head area and are for the gauge, fan after run etc. call me if you require further assistance.

Hey John, very sad to see this going down Bud! I know the past few years have seen numerous troubles with your Corrado, but didn't think she'd become a breaker. Any plans to get another, or is this it for you and Corrado ownership? This must be a rench for you John, as I know how much passion went into your Corrado story. We have shared some great laughs together, 2007 Le Mans trip stands out. Would be good to hear from you. Regards, John.

Seems to me our French model suppliers are going to be popular with a good many on this forum with this new G60 release in 2013. Is anyone thinking group buy here? Sounds like we could all benefit from a possible negotiation with the folks at Otto.

Hi Yan, thanks for that tip. Will give it a try. I have not had much luck with heritage parts to date but hopefully this time will produce the goods. One more part nearer to my 4WD conversion.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. A G60 1/18 model will go nicely with my Revell VR6, on my model shelf in my office at JMR

I don't think we are talking Digifiz. I believe the problem our man has is with the LCD portion of the instrument display, ie MFA and mileage/trip

Urgently seeking a complete Rallye or Synchro Golf fuel tank, for my Corrado 4x4 conversion. If you can help with parts or information as to location of this part, I am keen to hear from you.

Have had the same framed Corrado ad hanging on my office wall at JMR for many years now, since it was presented to me. Hardly a week passes without me being made an offer to buy. Not that I wish to sell mine, all the same Interested to see how this pans out!

Garages / useless mechanics – That old rant
16VG60 replied to tentonhammer's topic in Off-topic Chat
It genuinely saddens me to hear people telling of such poor personal experience with their local garage services. As a garage owner and mechanic of some years standing, I fail to comprehend how business's can afford to impart such a bitter taste to their work, particularly when everyone is seeking value for money in these austere times. We work tirelessly to ensure we deliver a quality product at all levels, every customer is valued and deserves our best attention. Communication is key, as too is transparency. It also helps if those who are serving you, share your passion for engineering equally. Quite simply treat your customers as you would wish to be treated. -
It would seem that LWS have either bought all the old moulds and production rights from the expired Performance Trim, or Mike has gone back into business under a new name. Either way the product line up is identical to that of PT, even down to the photos of my Corrado to illustrate the carbon roof! With our experience of this product, having had the first item fitted to my car, If any of you opt for a Carbon roof please feel welcome to approach JMR for installation quote.

Hi Leigh, we can do this for you. Apologies for the delay in continuing our conversation, but since return from holiday we have been flat out. Because I know your hours are mad too, please call me when you can to discuss further. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, John JMR

We have done a great deal of work for members of this forum over the years, and it would be my pleasure to help with your torsion beam bushes. Being in Swansea however might be a problem for you. Although however, a good number of our customers regularly travel from all over the country for our services. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
