16VG60 replied to Rocket Ron's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Will be there bright and early---------- well early any way!! Will see you guys at Mc D's car park. Will be in my Audi A4 Avant as Corrado being taxed from 1st April. -
No worries Bud will forward details and talk soon.

Give the "big tartan judge" a shout on this forum. Struan has a set of crystal smoked rear lights for sale, not sure how much he wants for them, but the price should be agreable.
-
When I go back to the workshop on Monday o will see if I have hoses as well. I am barred by my familly From going in this weekend as I have worked most of them since the New Year. As regards postage I will weigh them for you and let you know the results again on Monday.

Did the thought of spending £150 scare you too much, or did you just simply go off line? Are you interested still?
-
I think £150 would be a fair price + p&p or collect.

I have a set of 312mm callipers and carriers, and can include a set of new black diamond brake pads. The callipers and carriers are in very good condition having been recently painted black. Not sure what I want for these, are you interested?

My well loved 16VG60, now Nearing completion of the latest phase of works. Getting it ready for the eagerly awaited 2011 show season. It's been a while since we were both present at the same venue!
-
I have done one or two in my time, both for my own car and customers cars ;-).
-
HID's are a fantastic upgrade and the light output is second only to natural daylight! Much lower demand upon charging system and significantly extended lifetime. I have fitted these to all of my own cars and a large number of my customers cars in conjunction with projector type headlights. A point to note however is that it is illegal now to fit HID lighting to conventional non projector lens lights. Another issue is to have your beam alignment checked and adjusted post fitting, to ensure you do not dazzle other road users.

All done John. Well done for posting a reminder to all on the forum.

Good decision fella, should be straight forward enough to source a replacement tommorrow. Shame you don't live down south near me as I keep these on the shelf, allong with most other coil packs, they are allmost a daily request item. The only other point to consider is that it is typical that once one coil has failed the others will follow. Most of my customers now opt to have the set changed.
-
Not recommended to drive with coil pack failure due to emissions system damage from excessive unburnt fuel being present. This unburnt fuel will cause problems with lambda related fueling adjustment, catalytic converters, and bore/ lubrication system contamination. I strongly recommend you don't drive car in this state, a coil pack will cost circa £30, the possible side effects could cost you considrably more!

It sounds like either a wiring fault, or a faulty motor. Check the wiring between the A post and door as there cam often be a broken wire at this point where the wiring is continually being stressed. If the wiring is ok then you it is likely that the motor has a fault. This should get your fault finding process started, but this detail is far from complete, allways better if one has the car in front of you in such issues as this.

These foam pads do wear out over time and when this is the case they become unstuck and perish / crumble upon touch. If yours have got to this stage do not waste your time trying to re-adhere them, just bite the bullet and renew or remove. Only the post "92" model year fos are still available from dealer, early bonnet foams discontinued some time ago now. If your foams are good then you will require an automotive contact adhesive, the best stuff is made by 3M.
-
If you are interested in this system which will fit your VR6, then you will need to contact "big tartan judge" on this forum as the system is his to sell, but in my workshop at the moment.
-
Is this of any interest to you?
-
The earth you mention goes to the bonnet hinge and is intended to prevent electrical interference.

Yes the distributor rotor arm is removeable and can be replaced without renewal of the distributor. Sounds like you have the usual problem of the rotor arm being stuck on to the distributor spindle. To avoid excessive force being transmitted to the distributor spindle by tugging at the rotor arm repeatedly, your best bet is to use a pair of large water pump pliers to carefully crush the rotor arm base attatchment therein breaking the rotor arm away from the spindle. Sounds brutal but if done with care is quick and effective. Before you fit the replacement lightly lube the spindle with LM grease, to avoid same problem next time.

For the majority of mildly tuned G60 engines a Mocal 13 row cooler is plenty sufficient. Anything bigger than this is not necessary unless you start to push out serious bhp. I run a modified RS6 oil and transmission cooler to keep the oil temp sensible. Your aim will be to run a typical oil temp of 92 to 98 degrees.

If anyone is Reading this thread and is sincerely keen to source and buy a carbon fibre tailgate, bearing in mind this will be likely to cost at least as much as a full carbon fibre bonnet, then please don't start listing your names here and hijack this thread. Instead contact Mike at Performance Trim and state your interest. If Mike is made aware that a significant number of Corrado owners wish to purchase this item, and furthermore are keen to place a proper deposit down payment, then it will encourage him to put this component into production. I emphasise that this is not going to be a cheap product and even as a group buy it will put a good dent in your wallet. If we present Mike with 10 confirmed orders, supported by deposits, then I think he will proceed with production.
-
Very glad to hear I have found another campainer for the carbon tailgate. I have been on at Mike for this component for some time now, so another buyer will help us both. For my own part I want this tailgate soon as. As regards any tips on roof fitting you can contact me on 07974020031. I look forward to hearing from you and especially if we can get Mike to produce the tailgate.

Totally awesome event, not the least expensive by a long way, but nuts to the expense cos the Earl of March and his team assemble some of the most exciting motorsport hardware ever seen and run in one location. I love love love this event, and am privilaged to live but a mere nine miles from this historic venue. This is not just a show, it is a place of pilgrimage for the discerning petrol head, and I would erge all to witness this wonder to behold your senses!

Carbon bonnet straight forward enough. If you have any issues fitting the carbon roof I am happy to offer help, as my Corrado was the prototype for this modification and we experienced a few areas that required careful thought. Is your roof from Mike at Performance trim? Are you going for the completely stripped out interior, or are you going to introduce a basic level of trim? If you are intending the latter I have an OEM sunroofless headlining for Corrado. Either way these two carbon panels offer a fantastic weight saving. I am currently trying to secure manufacture of a carbon tailgate.
