Hi Paul the engine no. on a KR is stamped onto the cylinder block on the front face top right hand side as you look at it (installed) just below the join with the cylinder head. It will be on the prepared flat surface and will require cleaning off with a scraper and emery cloth in order to read it. Give me a call if you require further assistance. John, JMR 07974 020031

THe OEM cats are a very effective unit and do offer respectable flow characteristics. Having said this i have supplied and fitted the Milltek Hi Flo Sport Cats for both late 16V and VR6 Corrados which have offered considerable improvements above and beyond that of the OEM cat. I would not recommend you have either a cat or cat by-pass section welded into your system, from a practical point of view you will immediately loose any issue with choice or to replace a faulty component without ditching the exhaust. I can offer you options for both cat by-pass pipes and sport cats which will be able to be bolted into the system onto the existing OEM fittings and come fitted with Lambda sensor ports. I can also supply you with used OEM cats. The Milltek Sport Cats are £285, Cat By-Pass pipes are £55 both are plus £15 Carriage.

I have 5 sets of Inpro Corrado Angel Eyes headlights available on a first come first served basis. These are as discussed on a recent thread where also an illustration was to be found. These headlights are UK legal for right hand drive and E marked. I am planning to try and source more of these units later but for now i have the 5 sets. The asking price is £260 inc vat but plus carriage to your address. I need to hear from interested parties asap and will require your payments by cheque to confirm and secure your orders. If you wish to proceed with an order please send me a cheque for the full amount, made payable to P J Mitchell, to JMR 39 Jubilee Avenue Rustington West Sussex BN16 3NF. Owing to the nature of how i believe these first sets will be sold, could you please contact me on my mobile to state your interest, the first five confirmed calls backed up by payment will be accepted. I look forward to hearing from you.

You can have a used G60 front pipe for £30 plus £12 p&p. To discuss details please contact me on 07974 020031

If your front pipe is blowing from a deffect in the flexi joint, then indeed replacement is the only cure. Sadly this is a relatively common fault on Corrado G60's and 2.0 16V, and given the age of our cars these pipe flexi joints have done pretty good service. I offer a Hi Flo upgraded front pipe for the G60 which makes a significant improvement on the performance of the OEM item, and furthermore it is made from high grade stainless steel and warrantied for life. My JMR Hi Flo Front Pipes are £220 inclusive of vat. Alternatively i have used standard front pipes, but if you are going to go through all the work to have the pipe replaced it would be the ideal moment to make a genuine improvement.

Synta Silver is the oil i use in all G60's and indeed many other VW Seat and Audi cars that i service. I agree that there is no majic about this product, it quite simply has a specification that suits the engineering, as indeed would any other semi synthetic oil of the same spec. If i'm honest about the whole thing i use Synta Silver in particular because my local dealer delivers my 208 Litre barrel and it is one less thing to worry about.

I would not recommend a universal Lamda probe for your G60, despite the cost difference. You can however save a few pounds by using the NGK G60 specific aftermarket replacement item. I have used these when a customer's budget was a little fragile and they seem to perform in a satisfactory fashion.

Hi Ranj, I have sent you some detail regarding your requirements.

This setup procedure applies only if you remove the bracket. This bracket does not require to be removed, and to remove the pivot bolt is the way to go. The use of the special VAG tool for removal and refitting of the bushes does however make life a whole lot easier. Make sure you orientate the bushes correctly when pressing them in.

Kev, with all due respect you are taking a view purely based upon your own short term experiences of your VR6, one which both myself and Milltek took very sincerely, and i think their actions are somewhat harshly described on your part as "faffing around" Every effort possible was made to satisfy your needs. Whilst you as an individual were clearly not to be content with a Milltek system many others before and since have. I however was taking a view in my last post based upon the complete range of systems wherein the majority of sales are to the 4 cylinder engined Corrados. I respect the fact that you are entitled to your opinion, but no one product is going to satisfy everybodies needs.

In all the cases of rear axle contact that have been brought to my attention, it has been due to the fact that the fitter has not cut down the centre pipe sufficiently in order to give the correct system length. The centre pipe is supplied longer than required in order to accomodate different length cats fitted at times to the Corrado. If this centre pipe is not accurately shortened, the over axle section of the system will not be positioned so as not to contact with the beam. One also has to accomodate the tendancy for stainless steel systems to grow in length as they attain full operating temperature. This growth can be up to 30mm, so again the fitter must consider this also when installing the system. A system when cold in this example may fit well, but because insufficient clearance has been made by centre pipe length, will knock as it becomes hotter in use, or vice versa. Please do not jump to the assumption that the system is always at fault, in my experience it is more a matter of the system being fitted correctly and the use of the correct rubber hangers.

There are spcialised welding rods for cast. The job is best done with the manifold off the engine, this will allow you to pre heat the manifold in readiness for welding. I would add however that with all the grief of extracting an 8V exhaust manifold, why not just get a good used item and replace it in the knowledge that the job is done and will not be a further problem. A manifold from the breaker is likely to cost no more than £40.

Whilst i understand your frustration and dissapointment with the way in which you have been treated by who ever it was supplied and fitted your system, i don't agree with your generic outburst against Milltek. Surely if you have employed somone's services to fit this system then they are duty bound to do just that? I do not understand why you have had to pay £200 to cover the cost of additional attention as required. Surely if the fitter had done the job right initially you would not have had to return. Why did the fitter not honour his work and carry out any additional post settling adjustment FOC? In the worst case scenario are you aware that the people which you describe so harshly, namely Milltek, take a great pride in what they do and will be only to happy to ensure that each and every customer is satisfied. In your case they would gladly receive you warmly at the factory and ensure their product was fitted to your satifaction and theirs. I am a Milltek supplier and system fitter. I would not dream of treating one of my customers in this fashion, indeed if i were to i feel sure Milltek would have every right to terminate our contract. Before you despair and create further cost to yourself, please contact Milltek and ask to speak to Phil Millington, he will be most interested in your case and will be able to offer correction for the poor treatment you have received to date. In my experience Milltek offer a very high quality product backed up by excellent after sales support, at the end of the day it is the fitting which has caused depair not the product. If you require further assistance in this matter please do not hesitate to contact me.

I keep stock of the JMR Alloy front engine mounts to suit both G60 and 16V Corrado and Golf. I offer these mounts for £70 plus £5 P&P, all enquiries are wellcome.

These are "just downpipes" that happen to work exremely well at extracting gasses away from the head and have been very well received by a very large number of customers to date for road and track use. Do not be so fast to condem the OEM manifold once modified and coupled to the JMR front pipe, in this form it provides a very effective 4-2-1 manifold. Furthermore these are not prone to the typical fit and stress fracture problems of a four branch manifold, they as standard come with a flexible joint and are warrantied fo life.

From my experience of those who have tried to complete this exact conversion, and oh how i wish i was to be awarded a pound for every enquiry of this nature, i think that you will be offering somone a bargain very soon. Everyone that i know of who has attempted this conversion has ended up scrapping the hybrid they have "operated on" and buying a system from me that was made for the job. First question, do you have access to a stainless steel welding plant and or operator? How much did you pay for the system? How much will you be paying a welder? After this are you still weighing in under a budget price of £266.36? Sorry to sound so negative, but as i say i have been down this road with others like yourself many times before. I wish you well should you decide to persue this conversion.

I offer a solid alloy front mount for G60 and 16V engined Corrado and Golf. These are available ex stock for £70 plus P&P. These have been very well received by the forum and many have been supplied to date. I wellcome your enquiry.

I am selling my MK1 Scirocco G60 which has an immaculate shell sprayed in Mercedes Linarit Blue, has a Safety Devices full cage, Harnesses, uprated brake mod, Corrado rear discs, Corrado G60 alloys plus much more. I wellcome any enquiries.

G60bv, which Audi handle kits have you bought ? I have just fitted A6 handles to my Corrado, i had the bodywork done locally and fitted the kit myself. The tricky part is allways making these mods work. This particular mod is not too hard to fathom, just a little tricky in designing the push rod required to interface with the existing latch mechanism. I am happy to offer further assistance if required.

The window glass sits in a metal channel into which it is glued. If the glass is not moving with the channel then it will need to be re-fixed using black PU auto adhesive, this is made by numerous companies ie Bondaflex and Sikkaflex to name but two, you will be able to obtain it from any good motor factor particularly those that specialise in car body repair. You will need to dig out any of the old adhesive first and make sure that you re-fit the channel onto the glass in the correct postion. If you require further assistance, i am happy to help.

G60's from 92 model year had ABS as standard, there are alot of Corrados out there that are pre 92 model year cars, in factory build terms, but were first registered in 1992 in the UK. Old stock registered late in short.

Like all things this is a possible conversion, but one might also cosider to be economically unviable. The works involved are extensive and extremely intrusive. It would involve installation of ABS Pump, ABS Servo, Brake reservoir and hydraulic fluid feeds, Additional hydraulic pipework from pump, ABS sensor rings at all four wheels, ABS sensors x 4, ABS ECU and wiring loom. Add all this up and the parts even second hand are alot, now add the labour given that you are not doing the install and i think you might prefer to learn the pre ABS art of cadence braking!
