i have the bonrath poly bushes, they are much harder than the powerflex ones, and I have no complaints either!
-
With the corrado i went in one big burst...... Brakes, Suspension, Engine and Exhaust. I think under normal circumstance I would go the same route as above. I cant bring myself to do the gearbox twice, but I really was and LSD now, but I am going to alter the gear ratios once I knwo the final power curve of the car....so the LSD will have to wait!

At the moment, I support your brave words!!! Once I get the car corner weighted things might change though.

that looks grim mate......try filling the water up again....get the car running and up to temp, and squeeze he rad top hose to see if its stupidly pressurinsed....if its hard...then u should not be pleased! :( also look for excessive white smoke from exhaust. Good luck

good luck!

stevemac, do u know wher your car is leaking water from? Same as mine was, or another place worth noting?
-
H100VW, good point...... CorradoCymru, assuming you havent already loosened anything off, if you go out to the car, put it in gear with the handbrake brake on and check if you can turn the hubnut with a socket and ratchet.....a bit of an exageration...but u and 3 of you biggest mates should be able to do the cancan on the end of the ratchet without the nut moving!!! If it moves.....it was too loose. exturbo2003, thats a valid point for the rear bearings, and I dont know how the Vauxhall bearing /stub axle go together, but on the c there is an outer and inner race that come in the bearing kit so the stub axle itself does not have any moving parts touching it, so it shouldnt wear.

I had this same problem on my G60. It was the front water temp sender housing flange that was leaking. The face on the head had become pitted, and was not giving a good seal. I thought I had a pic....I sent it to Henny in MSM...if u still have it, then maybe you could post it. (its a pretty good example of a bad sealing surface!) To fix, take off housing, buy a new one - £10 from stealer, comes with the £1 o-ring Dry sealing the face on head, make sure there are no positive irregularities - i mean scrape of lumps, dont worry about pits Apply a ring on instant gasket to the head (assuming the head is not a flat surface - if its a good clean surface, ignore this bit!) put it back on, not too tight, or else the plastic will crack.....my bently aint installed...maybe someone else could tell us the torque. fill up the water to between the min and max. I found if i put it up to max, the pressure in the system was much greater (there is less space for expansion in the expansion tank) and any weaknesses are uncovered. Dont rev the engine until the instant gasket has dried fully. Mine has been fine for over 2 months....still the same water level. If this doesnt sort it....do the same to the to the housing beside the oil pressure switch on the flywheel side of the head. It is also worth checking the jubilee clips on the rad......the rubber hose that goes onto the metal pipe from the water pump, and the lower connection on the rad was another leaker on my car.....now has two jubilees on the metal pipe side. If all those things still dont sort it.....then start to panic! But sinse u say it needs topped up every 1000 mls, then maybe u will have saved enough by then!! lol

C & R Enterprises are the only people I know that sell the Redline range. HTH

hi dan... bad luck! What engine we talking here?
-
Are we talking the MFA 1/2 functions or the odometer one?

I think that race power motorsport do them. Thats who did my 8v head, and he quoted somewhere around £300 for flowing the 16v head. It will be a whole lot cheqper if you are doing the rest of thework yourself!

at least you can be sure you have a good coat of paint now!! Theres always a silver lining!!!

i'm in the stock camp! (and staying there) 9:1 for me!
-
yes it, but I am helping our man isolate the noise - it could be a mount....but not if its coming from further forward!
-
hi I am not really that familiar with the VR, but I can make afew suggestions!! I think that your power steering pump and (main) water pump are at that corner. They can get noisey when nackered. I dont think there is a mount in the front right corner - just the same as all the other cars, one one ech side to the rear of the eninge, and one at the centre on front. If its a vibration, check that none of the pullies have become bent. HTH (and I am sure Kev will be along soon)

i've never heard anyone say that supersprint is a poor fit, and I thought mine was a doddle to put on. They are also fairly quiet, an attribute ^^^^some people^^^^ are after!!!

did u see the lambo in edinburgh? I saw a countach and a mercialago (or whatever it is) in the same week on the same stretch of road, between BAE Systems and Macdoanlds! I had never really heard that breed of car before - Incredible sound

I dont know about the raddo, cos TBH I aint looked there, but on the golf fuse box round the back, there were 3 clusters of unused male spade connectors, 1 cluster was earth, one was permanent and the other was ignition power, maybe someone can confirm if the same is true of the corrado. (otherwise just put your hand round the back for a feel.) HTH

the torque axis will be at the right of the page. the green will be bhp at the flywheel, the red will be bhp at the wheels
-
is it coil overs or just normal struts? If its not coilovers the simple option is just get a set of std springs and thats u sorted! HTH

i did away with it when i changed my manifold. So there is no reason you cant change its purpose! Not sure how you wouldget a probe in there, but thats anotherquestion!
