race power motor sport quoted me £350 for a 16v head i think... Grant Motor Sport also have prices on their site. u dont need to get bigger valves put on the 16v head.....they are almost the optimum size as standard. HTH

may sound like a stupid question.....how do u know u want one if u dont know what they look like?

the discs could be craked, or the pad could be damaged or worn....these can give the above symptoms. HTH

cant remember what gear, but try it in all gears..I am sure the lever is out of the way in one of them.

some companies do a wide range of porting and prep work to the chargers....st1-st4 and R1....but one companies st4 (G-Werks) may be more heavily ported the another companies (Jabba) R1. The more heavly ported the charger is the better the air flow out of it.....the delivery of boost through the rev range depends more heavily on the pulley size. HTH

that does offer some form of explanation, yes! not to big a job, can be a bit of a fiddle to get it out past the selecter on the gearbox. Dont think ur car will be going far without that sorted! could be worse..... :lol:

give the system a bleed to start with......I did mine the other day and the fluid I took out of it isnt fit for fiats. See where u are after that. (5 min job)

not entirely true.... if it is stuck open u will have flow through the radiator even when u dont need it...so it will run cold. This is almost unrelated to the fan being on constantly...thats a temp switch problem. I just replaced the thermostat on my car it was £7.07 +vat from vee dubya. HTH

the eyelet, locking nut and bolt had seized on mine, I tried to lossen it off but the bleeder sheered. £9 for a new eyelet :shock: :shock: Still its done now!

maybe its different in scotland, by my friend got a fixed fine for not displaying tax disc (prior to start of this year) £30, and a fixed fine for driving in a bus lane £30. He paid neither and got no follow up. These fines are too small to go to court, they just throw it out for wasting time. yours are bigger fines, and your in England!

the ABF was in the mk3 16v, and I think the ibiza still used the KR, not up on current models tho. But, they are essentially the same thing, so there are no reasons that any one of these (or any other 16v VAG engine for that matter) would be a prob to turbo charge, give them a shout.

there are only 2 of the breather hole seals left at the vag factory, i just got a new one(thats how I know), they are a couple of pound...... I had exactly the same prob as u first time I took my charger off, and just like g-man says, it is the flanger that bolts on the front of the head.......they are less than a tenner from the stealer, when u replace it needs to be tight but, not too tight or the plastic will fracture. Also make sure the sealing face on the head is good, mine was fckued so I had to put instant gasket on there too. HTH *Edit - I just noticed your location....so I guess the number of these seals in the UK makes as much difference as the price of eggs in spain

Is the fuel injection in the Digifant batched or grouped or sequential? Couldnt the ecu give more fuel rather than retard the timing?

thats the one...got footage of it beating 1000cc bikes on the 1/4 at crail. That was a bargan...its still got the full leather interior, but with that engine and gearbox etc.....was sold for £49k...u can hardly get a std one for that money!

I dont think the gaskets are that much, but I seem to remember the 10 head bolts becoming expensive. I think a later metal head gasket would be a good idea. If u bite the bullet and do this, then (assuming u make a good job) u shouldnt need to do it again, but if u go to the bother of having a new kr lump installed, whos to say it wont happen again in a few months? If u do go for the new engine, dont get a kr, get a abf or 9a or 6a.

if u take your time getting them off....think the wiper arms have to be removed too.....then drive to the place to get your nice new double glazing installed.....could I interest you in a lorrimer door for your car? :D
