  1. Welcome to Corrado ownership and to the forum. Always nice to see them go to good homes. Very nice original looking car you have there. Looking forward to seeing your progress with it
  2. I considered this one myself. It looks like a nice, honest original car. Always nice to see original supplying dealer plates on a car.
  3. I should be attending Nick. If so happy to meet at Cobham Services
  4. some excellent work there, very jealous of you guys with AirCon in the last few days!
  5. Whatever version it is, Ijust hope they don't 'ruin' it! Some of MBs refurbishsments are excellent, but on other occasions he does have some funny ideas! Think I would rather not have the Corrado featured than Mike turn it into a beach buggy or give it a full length fabric roof with snoop dogs entertainment system installed in the front headrests
  6. If all 246 people who've viewed this thread got on Pistonheads and gave their view of the VR6, then I think it may significantly firm up our cars values!!
  7. I have used Pistonheads to buy and sell various non-mainstream cars, including Corrado's. However, there has been a definite drop off. I remember not too many years ago seeing 30-50 Corrado's in search results! Long standing members get free adverts, so there are still some really good cars on there, but I definitely wouldn't pay the fees to use Ph. I have bought my last two Corrado's through the Forum/Owners Club though. Unsurprisngly, thats where the best low mileage original cars seem to be advertised first these days. The occasional minter pops up on eBay, but its not the ideal way to buy for me.
  8. Lovely wheels you have there, very Lancia DIntegrale look! As for Gwithan, it's one of the best locations in Cornwall. I stay at Gwithian Farm first couple of weeks in July every year. Will be taking the C this year. Have only ever seen one Corrado in Cornwall though, a bright orange one near the Foundry in Hayle
  9. Welcome back to ownership, lovely looking original Storm. I was also in the Lakes last week (in the Corrado) and didn't see another on the whole 900 mile trip! Love the VR6 on those roads
  10. fitted (glued) Cup-Holder in lieu of rear Ashtray. A truly superb practical & cheap mod. Highly recomended.
  11. if you don't mind the plain unbadged version then maybe give Veedubmachine a try. I had one off them when I needed a grille that had more airflow on a previous car (due to high under bonnet temps). I seem to recall it was only around £20
  12. Like I said I have regretted it ever since. I never wanted to sell it, but without a garage at my property and transient work schedule meant I was living out of UK for a while. I tentatively put it up for sale telling myself I would only sell it to somebody who would treat it as we'll as the previous owner. The chap who bought it was excellent and I know it is being taken care of. It definitely wasn't the mileage, although this one has done nearly half the miles I still think Craigowls old Storm is a better car and probbaly more loved. I hope this one is a good one, but regardless will always regret selling that lovely Storm. I need to stay in one place long enough and keep one eventually-regardless I find it hard to survive long without a Corrado in my life!
  13. The latest obsession, it has just clicked over 59000 miles
  14. Well, since I sold the Storm I have pretty much regretted it every day. Circumstances conspired against me and work dictated that it was probably best to sell. I had been browsing the various classifieds pretty much daily, till funds/time and available car all fell into place at the same time. Approx 2 weeks ago I made the short journey to Woking to collect my eighth Corrado (seventh VR6) since 2003!. It is Aqua Blue Pearl with Beige Leather interior. It was for sale on the CCGB site exclusively. The history is very good and it has had 14 VW Main Dealer Service stamps, every receipt and MOT/Tax Disc from new. The original purchase receipt from AFN Isleworth ( this was down the road from my Brunel Uni campus and I was always browsing around the Corrado's in stock), it was then sold to the 2nd owner by HWM Walton on Thames in 2000 with 16k on the clock. The 2nd owner had owned it ever since, always getting servicing/MOT/prescribed maintenance work done at Colbornes VW Dealer in Guildford. It has just over 58k miles on the clock when I collected it. The car was in pretty original fettle when I bought it, with only updated door speakers, very subtle tweeters set into the wing mirror internal plates, Alpine HiFi and Clifford premium Alarm having been altered over the years. The car has barely a blemish as far as I can see and has been garaged from new under a soft car cover. It doesn't look like any seat bar the drivers has ever been sat in. Everything on the car works (sunroof/seats/spoiler etc) bar the wing mirrors. This was diagnosed as an £80 switch by VW, so the previous owner just lived with it, as he stated he was the only one who ever drove it so why worry!? I will endeavour to get this fixed fairly soon. Since the previous MOT in October 2013 the car had done just 19 miles!!!, the owner said he was selling because he just doesn't drive it anymore and didn't want it to deteriorate by not being used. Wen I collected it the speedo wasn't working and it took two or three turns to start ( I assumed this was just the Well known petulant Corrado reaction to lack of use), it cleared itself up on the first day of driving and now seems faultless. The day I collected it was a Sunday, which coincided with Pistonheads Sunday Service at Mercedes-Benz (Woking) hence I thought it would be rude not to attend before heading home. So many people lingered to look at the car, mainly due to it being parked in a prime position near the Catering Van, but nevertheless some very nice comments. Porsches (even GT3s) were two a penny there so glad I hadn't turned up in the Boxster! Since driving it away I have bought a new number-plate for it which I am waiting to get the documentation sorted on it and replaced the Aerial Gasket and Gear Knob from local VW Stealer. After bonding with the car in the first few days and feeling reassured, I decided to take it on a Camping road-trip last week from Surrey to Lake District, via Vince at Stealth(for a BMC Induction Kit to be fitted & a general look over). It was my first visit to Stealth and I was very impressed with their professionalism and friendliness. I will definitely be using them again for anything that needs doing over and above routine servicing. The car behaved superbly on the trip to Lakes, returning excellent MPG, much to the chagrin of mates with much thirstiest vehicles! As ever it drew many admiring glances and comments throughout the trip, although I didn't see another Corrado in nearly 900 miles! Looking forward to doing some subtle mechanical modifications whilst keeping the standard look. It would be nice to finally keep one for the long term.
  15. As much as I am an advocate of originality, that rear does look sensational with the wiper delete and the all-red lights, especially lowered with the stainless exhaust..good work

  22. Always been impressed with Corrado fuel consumption. I have just got back to Surrey from a 900 mile road trip holiday in Lakes, averaging 30mpg. Plenty of spirited driving as well as motorway cruising. Also impressed that the computer reading appears to be fairly accurate
  23. These sound great. I would be wanting a set of clear Headlights & Fog/Indicators when they are ready. Cheers
