  1. Looking for a standard original spec late VR6. Ideally a Storm, but definitely leather interior. Looking for a low mileage cherished example with full history and low number of owners. For the right car I am willing to pay up to £7000. Colour wise anything except red and white. Prefer Black, Blackberry, shades of blue or Classic Green.
  2. Love the Mk2 Golf Colour, sensationally retro VR

    VR6 Storm

Well, that's always going to happen. But an advert has to entice people, certainly in an online auction! You want to create interest and competition. A poor quality advert has one of two effects generally. Either, you end up getting questions galore (which takes upsignificantly more of the sellers time than writing a good quality advert would have done) or alternatively people make their own assumptions as to why a seller would be so brief with detail/description. At the end of the day you want people to actually turn up to a For Sale advert or bid in an auction.

    VR6 Storm

Not enough information provided on the Storm to offer without viewing. If it realists hopefully the chap provides service history detail and mileage for example! The poor quality of some peoples adverts never ceases to amaze me. When I'm selling a car I try and make the advert as detailed as possible to avoid people contacting me with every question under the sun. From the scant detail provided and the photos it does seem a good honest car
  5. I've got a 2003 986 Boxster S with 74k on the clock available for £7900. Super spec and 2 boots for the shopping. With careful use easily 30MPG. When do you want to collect?
  6. I would also be interested in one of these
  7. Insurance company antics never surprise me anymore. Only this year I swapped my 2004 Boxster S Anniversary for a 2003 Boxster S. The premium nearly doubled! I spent nearly an hour trying to explain to them that the cars were more or less identical, if anything the Anniversqry should be more (slightly increased power and higher spec). They would not budge and could not explain it. I look forward to renewal time and the usual dance
  8. Welcome to the forum & ownership Chris. Look forward to seeing some photos of your Storm
  9. Welcome to the forum. Regards which engine is the best, this is not an exact science. They both have their positives and negatives. For driving experience you probably need to do just that-experience driving a good example of each. If you pop along to a Corrado Forum or CCGB show/meet, you may be lucky enough to get a passenger ride in both. Personally I am a fan of the VR6, but the G60 is a great car too...Probably doesn't help much!
  10. Is that Mystic Blue with beige?! What a good idea!
  11. Lovely original looking car with nice bright paint. Welcome to the forum
  12. There is a fair bit of artistic licence on Wheeler Dealers. It's widely acknowledged that many of the 'buyers' are stooges, friends of the production staff etc. I would be very surprised if the price sold is a 'real' price, likewise the leather interior price, amongst other things
  13. I sold my 94 M VR6 for just under £7k in July 2014. It had done 58k miles with 17 VAG service stamps, 2 previous owners, all old MOTs, huge file of history etc and everything worked perfectly with not a mark on it anywhere. The Aqua Blue Paint & Beige leather were pristine. This chap setting a reserve so high with little info seems ridiculous to me. A 50k mile 20 year old car could be a dogs dinner if it hasn't had work. The market for these cars generally isn't anywhere near that despite a few recent 'Dealer' pricing strategies & those cars haven't sold.
  14. I just keep the receipts for every part bought for the car, including sundries like bulbs & wiper-blades. It is reassuring for a potential future owner. I always like to see such items retained when purchasing, along with the usual garage receipts & stamps. I once bought a car off a chap who kept all his petrol receipts to prove that he only ran it on high octane fuel!
  15. Welcome. I had a 2.0 16v as my first Corrado, really good memories of it and with less weight up front many prefer the handling of the 16v. Look forward to seeing some photos of it and hearing how you get on with it. That VR6 will probably follow at some stage!
  16. If I am back in a Corrado by then would like to attend this
  17. 'N' registration Mystic Storm parked up on a driveway in Ringwould village (near Deal, Kent) this morning. Looked very original
  18. The colour looks sensational, nice and original. Welcome along
  19. Lubrication of sunroof is imperative for longevity. It should be treated as a yearly service procedure
  20. I have owned 3 Boxsters and 8 Corrados!..keep coming back to both!
  21. A truly epic car Nick, with fantastic sympathetic well thought out mods..wish I could afford it at present. Best of luck with the sale. Be sure to post up regards the replacement as and when
  22. I thought this was going to be a thread about jammed open sunroofs!..
