It's not the end of the world if there's no badge on the grill is it?
  2. The usual trick is to remove the corrosion with a rotary wire brush or caramel wheel, followed by painting the bead area and wheel well with chassis paint - not hammerite as it chips too easily.
  3. All engines burn oil, its just that contaminants from petrol (diesel too) top up the oil level hence the darkening / deterioration over a period of time / mileage. The time to get you wallet out is when the spark plugs are fowling creating misfire.
  4. Isn't that each for the Speedlines?

The problem with copies is that you don't know how the plastic will weather over time, I'd rather a used original than a Chinese or 3D printed copy any day.
  6. Not me, I'm there on a weekly basis and never seen one, I don't think I've seen another around here for 12 months..
  7. I'll take these please, paypal?
  8. Some new audis use 1L per 500 miles, stop worrying about what could happen sometime never. £30 per year on oil burning is nothing compared to £4-5K for a full rebuild
  9. You just keep pulling relays and trying the lights until you pull the one that makes no difference to the current light situation, the fact the relay has failed usually means they are of cheap construction (Chinesium! lol), so the others are likely to fail soon anyway. I've not have to replace an OE relay in the 25 years I've run my own cars, most of which are over 10 years old when I buy them.
  10. If you have the skills to do this sort of thing you wouldn't be asking here for here for advice.
  11. Just swap the relays around to confirm the relay is faulty, if that's the case buy a new relay or replace them both for a few pounds.
  12. That consumption is normal, keep it topped up and it'll last years.

    A brigher front end?

Sorry, it's a no from me
  15. 6L per year is cheap motoring
  16. Do you have the time to commit to it?
  17. Will new cat fit inside old cat? If so you need a similar size pipe (if you want to keep the old cat?) to make a sleeve.
  18. MK2 pic taken in 1999, the day I sold it, MK3 pic 2001, the day I partex'd it for a new MK4
  19. I'd have a really good look at the circuit for dry joints and clean up the contacts by sliding a piece of wet or dry paper between them
  20. And the VR I replaced it with, should have kept the 8V
  21. The first VR I should have bought was alpine white - went for a Golf VR6 instead...... I owned an alpine white 8V MK2 for 5 years before that
  22. Both of mine are, ones buried under loads of Audi spares in the garage, the other sitting outside wearing 3 speedlines and one solitude
  23. Lets see some of the valver then
