Idle Stabilisation Valve Part Number for '94 Corrado VR6
CazzaVR replied to u01mbp's topic in Suppliers Forum
Sorry dude- meant to give you that number the other day  That's expensive! :? -
Blimey, this car must have cost you more than your house! There are some good suspension kits out there, but you really can't beat coillies. It's not just the adjustability, it's the ride quality. I've had several different options on my cars, and tbh nothing comes close to coillies. Definately worth the money imho.

 Hey, I'm still one behind you!
-
Thanks :) Nah, Dan is now 17 months old! Time flies... Yeh, the car has gone through a total transformation. It was pretty much standard when I had it (including embarassing ride height!

Hi Rob, what's the deal with Grant? They used to have an excellent rep, but recently, all I hear is bad stuff :?
-
Here's the new wheels 8) My sis is picking them up for me tomorrow. Have no idea when I'll be able to get my hands on them though, as she lives in London :(
-
Hi Nikki, was intending to... but there's a new baby on the way in the summer :D so won't be able to commit :( I'd love to see it too! Still regret selling it, even now! :(

Blake Services in Stroud are excellent, and quite near you. Give Richard a call on 01453884003. They've looked after my last two Corrados (2.0 16v and VR6), and also look after several others. Good labour rate too- think it's around £35 per hour. Mr Wales made a good point- it's all very well travelling for work, but if something goes wrong, you'll have to travel all that way again to get it fixed. So not really worth it unless it really specialist work, which it isn't by the sound of it. Happened to me before...

Try using some Redex or similar and give the car a damn good thrashing (30 mins or so) immediately prior to the test. Also take the air filter out for the test.
-
Andy, that looks scary! Purple and silver just don't mix! Seriously though, that must have been a real shock- at least there was no other traffic about. Are you going to replace the catches and bonnet cable too? Let me know if you need a hand!

Michael, I managed to get a really good deal on some 16" BBS RX2s 8) Toad- I'll be keeping the Speedies- still really like them, but I've always loved RX2s as well ;) Always handy to have two sets of wheels :)
-
New wheels coming soon...
-
Still fine after 6 months :)
-
The MK2 diesel mount you need is for the gearbox.
-
Another possibility is power steering fluid coming from the power steering pipe. Prob coolant though- as Michael says, could well be the crack pipe, as it seems to be dripping down from that sort of area.

My spoiler would only work off the switch when I bought the car. Pulled the fuse box out and noticed a plug (one of the small ones) unplugged- think it was on a blue and white wire. Plugged it in and the spoiler worked automatically :) Worth a look.

If you're gonna paint them, definately use laquer. Do around 3 coats, wet and dry with 1000+ grit, then cut with a cutting compound. They'll look factory 8)
-
Cheers for that- I was close though!
-
I've just bought some BBS RX2s with exactly the same measurements. I'm sure the rears would be fine, but the front may rub on full lock.

You can also get coloured overlays from Empire GFX. Clicky

Just make sure the wheel nut pcd is 5 x 100, offset of the VR is around 43, so your new wheels will need to be similar (slight variation won't matter). Also the centre bore for the VR (and most other VWs) is 57.2mm. You can buy spiggot rings to alter the bore if it's not correct- loads on Ebay. Also make sure the tyres are the correct size. Have a look in here ;)

Yep, it was hard plastic. They soften over time. Got one from VW a few years ago and it was exactly the same.
-
Renewed today. Adrain Flux quoted me £380 to renew, which was up from £330 last year  Shopped around and got back to them. They dropped to £309 fully comp, protected no claims, £300 excess, inc ANY mods! I can turbo it and they won't up the premium! Well chuffed in the end, although I wish they'd just give you the best price in the first place...
-
Are they specifically designed for early Corrados, like the Inpros are? I know the Inpros fit late models as well, they just don't fit perfectly.
-
Any pics? How much were they?
