Just get the coupling off Ebay for a couple of quid.
-
 - and a very good one at that! :notworthy:

Colouring in eh, you cheeky monkey! This is what my class are doing during registration this morning: Change this active sentence into passive: You must return your library books at the end of each session.

Unfortunately I haven't laid my hands on them yet :( Excellent excuse though  Gonna have to get them soon as the rear tyres on the vRS are pretty shot and the tyres on the new rims are the correct size. Have ordered some Toyo Proxes for the C 8)

Good stuff, Stu! Looks like a good 'un. Really like red Cs 8) Any plans apart from MS?
-
Nah, got mine from Ford. Only found this later. A couple of people have ordered from this company though- can't remember who though :(
-
Adam, have a look here. Everything you need, and even with P&P, works out waaay cheaper than getting it in the UK (even from Ford). Also worth replacing the blue temp sensor and all the bolts while you're at it. I got one from Ford a few months ago for around £8-9 ;)

Good job, Jim- great to have it all finally sorted. How's the ride with the new setup?
-
Don't think it's anything to worry about. Think it's just to keep the water pump/alternator bracket in place. This is one of the bolts you have to undo to get to the stat housing, if I remember correctly. Did it tighten back up OK?
-
It could be any number of things- a faulty ignition switch will cause cutting out. Could also be the ISV, MAF etc. Defo worth giving the ISV a clean just in case. Might also be worth checking that the throttle damper/dashpot thingy is in the correct place and damping properly.

Ignition switch?

Nah, haven't posted it yet- will do later. Some moving shots at the next mini meet will be good! We'll have to drive sloooow so Jon can stay in shot
-
Ah, thanks! Yep, I took those (my sister was sitting in the garden, but she actually looks like a pixie sitting on the car roof! ). How about a provisional date of 9th or 10th Feb, unless you want to join the Air Balloon meet on the 3rd... Edit: yeh, rear bearings, so we should be OK ;)

That would be my previous Deputy Head... I guess you had a little something to do with it too... Glad you decided to sell the G when you did- I was just about to buy his 16v (which was nice, but just not the same ). Talking of the old Aqua, have you got any decent pics of it? I've only got a couple of actual prints- would be nice to have some 'digital' pics. Mini meet in Feb would be grand 8) Fancy helping with wheel bearings/calipers? ;)

You guys are legends! 8) How many months has that taken you? Better late than never  New pics coming soon, which reminds me, do you have any of those pics from when you guys came down a few months ago? Wouldn't mind slinging them in 'ere ;)

Not hungry, Monkey Boy  Mr Prodigal wouldn't even be in another C if it wasn't for yours truly! Mr Prodigal wouldn't have a lovely Pearl White G with black leather Recaros if it wasn't for yours truly! Mr Prodigal wouldn't have a perfect G60 boot carpet, if it wasn't for yours truly! I'm out...

I think the stormtrooper has already been well and truly ignored! How many times have you guys bothered posting in my Gallery thread?!!! Shocking! Call yourselves friends?! :confused4:  :2gunfire:    :nono: Don't ya just love smileys?

Nice one :D ps: My MOT cost... £40

You should get the horn push with the wheel, which then connects to a wire in the boss. I managed to blow the fuse after furiously beeping at a Merc that cut me up  Could hear the relay clicking on it's own. Thought I'd actually broken the horn push, but thankfully turned out to be just the horn fuse.

Also worth carefully moving the flap inside with a screwdriver to make sure it's opening/closing smoothly. Once the carb cleaner has done it's work, give it a good spray with 3-in-1 or similar to lube it.

Check out all the associated pipework thoroughly.

Gotta say, you got a real bargain with the valver- lovely, standard car. The wheels will look superb after the refurb. And as for the VR... wow! It drives like it was built in the factory- work of genius 8)

Popped up to Crazydave's on Sunday for some tinkering. The idle has been a little rough and the engine doesn't seem to like the clutch being used! Gear changes (especially 1st & 2nd) are jerky and it sometimes tries to stall when dipping the clutch at roundabouts, junctions etc. Dave worked his magic with VAGCOM and an ISV fault came up. We eventually traced the fault to the throttle damper/dashpot, which wasn't damping anymore. It had absolutely no resistance, thus confusing the ISV and causing the above probs. Dave adjusted the throttle and wound the pot up a bit to stop the attempted stalling, which has worked a treat 8) I've ordered a new dashpot, but it's gonna take a few days as they don't have any in the country. Can't wait to get it fitted and have a nice smooth VR again 8) We then went for a customary 'pootle' in Dave's VRT  Many thanks again, Dave! Nice pancakes too ;)

Glad it's all coming together :) You've only had it a few months and it's already been a bit of a rollercoaster, in true Rado fashion  Dave's handle repair kit is an absolute must for anyone with a C. Mine failed last year on it's driver's handle, but Dave's kit got it through the retest 8)
