Gonna have a go at fitting a new one tomorrow- does it go over or under the fuse box? Cheers!

Can you afford to run a corrado, 1.11 per litre?
CazzaVR replied to anndy's topic in General Car Chat
I paid £1.14 p/l for BP Ultimate on the way up to Stealth the other day. That was near Worcester. Only put in half a tank  -
Here you go :)

Corrado 1.8 16v; 37,000 miles. Whats it worth????

Looks lovely- I'd love a standard, mint low miler 8) -
Could be the rocker cover gasket...

Have a go at doing it yourself. I managed to do mine on my own- and I'm certainly no mechanic! It took a whole afternoon, but reckon I could do it in less that two hours now I've done it once. The bumper bolts were a nightmare to get off- had to use a breaker bar and my neighbour to get them off! Apart from that, it's pretty self explanatory. Bumper off Grille off Slam panel off Disconnect hoses/drain coolant Rad out Fit new rad Replace coolant Replace above parts That's it really. Make sure you buy all new fixings when you get the rad. Well worth replacing all the old nuts and bolts while it's all apart.

Whatever you do, don't try to 'lever' the rotor arm off, or you'll probably dent the dizzy. Crushing's the way to go!

Have a look here - and stop SHOUTING! They're reasonably tuneable to a point- some good tips in there, especially with the WUR ;)

You've got to make it into double figures now... only one more!

I'd agree with Mr Corsa- that pic is superb. Just love the engine bay too- looks nice and factory 8) Shame we didn't get to see it in the flesh again the other day, but it was good to see the Goof- made me want one too! So, are you gonna go with beige Recaros to keep the Storm colours? Hen's teeth! Fancy selling me your interior?

Performance wise, a very simple and cheap mod, with decent results is a decat. I'd also recommend a BMC CDA. The VR6 doesn't respond particularly well to gas flowing, unless you're going down the forced induction route. You could go for a Schrick or VW VSR manifold (if you can find one!). Won't give you huge gains, but will change the characteristics of the power delivery. If I had the money, I wouldn't bother- I'd put it towards a Rotrex charger instead ;) Remaps will only give 5-10bhp on the VR6. Coilovers are a must for the handling. 288 brakes are also a worthwhile mod- will do this to mine eventually.

GPC do sell them, cheaper than anyone else too. Only prob is, Parcelforce recently put their delivery charges up to a minimum of £15 on anything over 5ft in length. Once packaged up, the splitter is this length :( I found it cheaper to get mine from my local stealer. The guys at GPC were a little peed off about this as it's basically killed all their splitter sales, and they used to shift quite a few.

Tried to buy all the bits ready to replace my cable. However, VW told me that the rubber grommet that the cable passes through into the bulkhead, is obsolete :( Mine is split- anyone got any ideas where I can get one, or if there is an alternative that would fit? Also, the little white plastic 'trumpet' that mounts the cable on the front offside of the slam panel is obsolete as well. Vw call them 'nipples'

What an absolutely stunning car! 8) 8) 8)

 That made me laugh- the kids in my class are the same. One has an older brother with a pimped up Corsa- he always says how it's much cooler/faster than my Corrado, because it has a big exhaust and stickers on the side! I always put my old copies of Evo in the book corner- they love reading them- I've made them check out the Knowledge section in the back, where the C gets a good review ;) Hopefully it's starting to sink in...

Octy vRS all the way! Know I'm biased, but I absolutely love mine. The engine is soooo tuneable too. A Jabba remap will take it up to 220-230bhp with no other mods 8)
-
Yeh it is. Nice wheel, prefer OEM though.
-
I'm thinking Speedlines are better too. The more I look at them, they seem too modern for the C.
-
The 24mm socket worked a treat :) Anybody want a Momo steering wheel? ;)
-
2.0 is a nicer drive imho as it's noticeably more torquey. Just drop a KR inlet cam in and it'll be at least as fast as a 1.8 + nicer to drive. They respond well to being gas flowed as well. KR cam, gas flowed head, decat etc and you'll be 160-170bhp. Do a search- been discussed a fair bit.
-
Nice one. Thanks guys :)
-
Anyone know what size socket I need for the steering wheel bolt? Looks around 22mm to me.
