  1. Wow, can't wait to see how this turns out. Bet you'll change your mind next week though! ;) This must be the first 2.0 FSI conversion?
  2. Don't even think about it, Nikki! Very difficult to put a price on it really- £5K? No matter what anyone says, Cat D defo puts people off, although anyone who really knows the car would probably pay good money for it.
  3. Nice work, Chris 8) Looking forward to seeing this at some stage, when we eventually get a Bristol meet sorted!
  4. Therapor, sounds like the same person who said that to me also ;)
  5. I've heard that the improvement isn't that great for the money... Think I'd save a few extra pennies and just get a charger instead.
  6. Also worth checking the isv pipework in case the sponge from the damper pot has been sucked into one of them ;) happened to mine, making it stall all the time.

    what now!!

KR cam + get it gasflowed.
  8. Reckon it could be the camber/tracking. The tyre pressures were getting low, so pumped them up to day, and it feels better, but still not quite right. I'll see what the garage say, then maybe get the wheels aligned.
  9. Looking really good, mate 8) How's the engine now? Probs sorted?
  10. Had a quick look tonight, and the drop links look fine. The tyre looks OK too :? I'll wait and see what the garage come up with. Hope I don't end up having to change lots of stuff to get to the bottom of it :(
  11. I'm with Rodders. Got mine for just over £2K with very good paint, full engine rebuild and clothe Recaro's. Admittedly, that was a bargain, but reckon £2.6-3K (max).
  12. Poor Vicki! :( This is bang out of order- there are ways to complain- polite, constructive etc, not have a right go at someone who does the sec work out of the goodness of her own heart.

    Carbon Canister

There is room- did it on my last VR. It's a snug fit, but it works with no need to mess with the pipes :)
  14. It's not terrible, but not great at the same time. Defo worse over bumps, and the steering wheel gets dragged around more, and visibly shakes when I let it go. Before, the steering was really smooth with no shakes at all.
  15. Bojmobile, haven't had any time to look. It's still driving the same. Will try and get under the car tomorrow night!

    Carbon Canister

You don't have to block anything- just slot it on it's side, underneath the MAF and cable tie it in place ;)
  17. Looking forward to watching this when I get home. Sounds mighty stupid though. Reckon a properly remapped vRS could stay with a standard VR no probs in a straight line. Different story round the twisties though.
  18. Thanks guys- wouldn't be surprised if it was either of these. Will get under the car tomorrow night ;)
  19. Yeh, reckon you're right. It's going for a service in a couple of weeks, so I'll get them to look at it then.
  20. Drove over one of those horrid metal speed bump things in a carpark the other day, with 3 passengers in the car. As we went over there was a loud ping/bump sound from the front nearside wheel area. I initially though maybe the tyre had gone. Immediately after, I noticed the steering was a little wobbly, and the car bump steers and is occasionally vague. Any ideas? Something has definately happened as the car felt so sure footed before, and the effect was immediate :(
  21. Think you may have to do the engine/ecu reset procedure if you've run it unplugged.
  22. Got the vRS back on Friday- looking really minty again 8) I was gonna give the interior a good clean before the accident- glad I didn't bother 'cos it's had a really thorough valet from the repairers :D Will get some pics up. Still haven't heard back from the Council- will give them a call this week.
  23. Nice one- exactly what I want to do with mine! Keep the pics coming 8) Is yours pearl green?
