Dave, good to meet you yesterday- car looks awesome in the pics- can't wait to see it in the metal- hopefully it'll be ready for the next meet :)
-
Looking 8) Love the number plate!
-
Always check the engine bay THOROUGHLY before shutting the bonnet- in the past I've forgotten to put the expansion tank cap back on (twice!) and also managed to smash a brand new Clifford keyfob into tiny pieces when I left it on the slam panel
-
Well, just ordered the sensor, all the seals, bolts and bottom two parts of the housing (won the top part on Ebay for £11 ;)), and all I can say is: GET YOUR VR6 ENGINE PARTS FROM FORD! Sooooo much cheaper, and they get them in quicker too (next day). Everything is basically 1/3 cheaper, so still cheaper than VW even after discount!
-
Nice one- thanks Steve!
-
I'm miles from any VW garages, so getting parts is a PITA! Got a Ford garage up the road though- anyone know if the blue temp sensor in the stat housing is the same as on a Ford VR engine? Gonna get all my stat seals/housing/bolts from Ford too, as they are all quite a bit cheaper!

It's Jason Dawe isn't it? He was on the first revamped series of Top Gear instead of James May.

Why you shouldn't live in the country! Oh Deer!!

Blimey! Defo would've been a right-off! They're hefty creatures- I remember a few years ago the husband of one of my teachers was killed by a stag which jumped over a wall and hit his motorbike. -

Sorry to see that mate :( Should be pretty easy to fix though. I take it the deer didn't survive? :( -
Thanks to Roddy ( vr6storm) for the K&N panel filter, which arrived safely today :)
-
Excellent stuff- defo needs to be in the Wiki! :)
-
Excellent! Any more pics (side, rear etc)?

Goldie, glad you're getting somewhere with this :) Which stat did you put in? I need to do mine soon and I don't trust VW ones after reading this! -
mic_VR, you're a star! Thanks :)
-
sounds too complicated, mate. I'm sure it can be done with adapters etc, but will probably cost a bit. What's the ET?
-
Nice one! Gotta do this myself in the next few weeks- not to bad a job, just a bit fiddly! Which part numbers do all the O-rings/seals have? Have sourced housing elsewhere, but want VW gaskets.

Looks good, mate. Love silver Corrados 8) -
Car is looking absolutely stunning- love the wheels!
-
There's a nice one up the road from me- never seen it being driven though. Always parked up- looks immaculate! 8)
-
I'd agree with Jim on that one. How about the SWG twin inlet airbox though?
-
Personally out of the valvers, I'd go with the 2.0. More torquey, later interior, bonnet, grille, wings, bumper, lights etc. Get a 1.8 KR cam too- will drop straight in, no mods needed. A good stepping stone to a VR. If you have the funds, however, get a VR!
-
Nice one- will be superb when you've ironed out the little probs :)

Snapped a quick pic the other day- she's looking nice and minty again 8) Just need to put the eyebrows back on- make it look nice and mean
