Foggystorm, the door handle screw is opposite thread. Just undo the screw, and wiggle the handle free from the door. It's possible to fit the repair kit, but it's pretty tight. If you can't do it in situ, you'll have to take the doorcard off, pull back the door membrane and unplug the handle loom + all the clips (think there's 3?) that hold the loom into the door frame. Then you can just carefully pull the plug up through the door handle aperture. HTH!

just_say_meth, totally agree with you. When I had a Magnex fitted a few years ago, the garage said the same thing- best fitment and build quality they'd seen. Also got mine from Motorsportworld, and they were brilliant too.

The standard red ones from VW are made by Beru- they look identical to the black Beru ones from VWspares (apart from the colour of course!).

Chris, these have a very good rep afaik. Have thought about getting one myself. Several people on here have them. You'll need to buy a lot of heat wrap for it!

Yep, a couple of times. Take the lights out. Give them a good clean and rub down with wet and dry paper. Use a course one first, then a fine one 1000+ to get it nice and smooth. Spray several thin coats (at least 5) of tint. Only takes 10 mins to dry between each coat- use a hairdryer to speed things up. Have some nail varnish remover handy in cas you make a mistake. When you're happy with the colour, spray some laquer on. 2-3 coats + it takes longer to dry between coats. Don't worry if it's not that shiny. Leave to dry really well for a couple of days- airing cupboard is a good idea ;) Give them a really good rub down with very fine wet and dry (at least 1200 grit). Then polish them thoroughly with a cutting compound such as Safe Cut (yellow bottle from Halfords), until nice and shiny. Sounds like a lot to do, but as long as you take your time, they will look really good. Good luck!

Owen VR6, you can get tinting spray from any motor factors. Savage spray is supposed to be good, and Halfords stock it ;)

My temps aren't too bad- usually around 106, and never going above 112. I'm changing the stat for a Neuspeed 70 degree one and will give the coolant a good flush and change. Gonna use only 2l of G12+ (see Goldie's thread). I'll let you know how this affects the temps.

Yeh, there or thereabouts. Think it's around 32-35 for the 4-stud models and 43 for the VR6.

My Mum and Dad have had a long succession of Hondas (with the odd Toyota or Nissan). They always get a 1.6 too. They both drive really slowly- however, Dad had a go in my first VR6 and went a bit mad! He floored it whenever he could- thought it was great!

Insurance-wise, the 1.816v is the best to go for being a group 15. The VR6 is 18 (Storms are 19!) and all the others are 17 (inc the 2.0 8v :? ). The 1.8 16v is faster to 60mph than the 2.0 16v largely because of the lack of cat. IMHO the 2.0 16v is the one to go for because the engine is a fair bit more torquey + you get later exterior/interior. If you put a 1.8 16v KR inlet cam in (or whole KR head), get the head flowed, decat etc, you'll be pushing out 160-180bhp. Your best bet is to drive them all to get a feel for the different models- they are all very different. Personally I'd go with the VR.
