  1. slugish underfoot is prolly the best description i would say (and extremely quiet without the BMC too lol)
  2. Why thank you Mr Bacon! they were rather diirty on the day but i like the way you can see the valver's kamei skirts (such a shame someone took off the front skirt before i managed to buy her back) Zesty Red Bull kick sounds interesting, please do tell me more? I have read about changing the final drive but not heard the G60 final drive mentioned (unless they are the same & im confused lol) Your right too about the feeling of lack of responsiveness & urgency underfoot when you drive a stock VR compared to a 263'd & stealth mapped - the power seems so much more readily available throughout the rev range now
  3. It was recommended by vince at stealth Ian. The day after i collected the VR from there for the 1st time the starter let me down & vince sourced the part & fitted it. I cant recall what he said other than they are a nice & punchy starter & reliable. Im sure if you spoke to vince he would tell you the full details
  4. Jim you are a gentleman thank you - a job for the weekend then as it was howling when i was trying to clear the screen this morning
  5. Thanks clumpy & cazza!!! I thought all of the bottom tabs were in the wrong place Brilliant info & handy to see pics. Jim - if it would be ok with you can i please put a potential 'yes please i will have it' on your grill & i will confirm tomorrow once ive double checked i have to replace the one i have?
  6. time for a wee update methinks.... 1st of all a nice pic of my current driveway, its called 3 in a bed :D next are a thank you to dave16v for producing high quality shiny parts once again (which tie in nicely with the polished stainless rebuild kit stealth used during my head rebuild)
  7. i had an 'amount' of white smoke before i had the head on my VR rebuilt but it turned out to be excessive moisture gases from my very old exhaust system when it was cold if you can post a video of yours with a bit more info im sure people here will be able to offer guidance
  8. Thanks for your post Ian, very reassuring. Was fitting not too difficult? ive a guide & it looks fairly simple
  9. If you like shiny things it could be a good opportunity to replace manifold bolts etc with polished stainless when stealth did my head rebuild i purchased a polished stainless steel rebuild kit from http://www.liquidmetalrefinement.co.uk/ which tie in nicely with the other polished parts from daves16v :) edit: pics in my build thread in members gallery
  10. I received my new heater blower motor today :) It is much bigger than i was expecting, hopefully fitting it wont be too much trouble If anyone is interested i get a good deal from ebay, linkage below.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-O-E-HEATER-BLOWER-MOTOR-VW-CORRADO-192959101-/321157973200
  11. i think you can with a bit of butchery & some silicone sealant or similar IIRC the difference is that the late grill has 3 tabs on the bottom (1 central & the other 2 equidistant from the centre) whereas an early grill only has 2 tabs which are about 1/3 of the way in from each edge. my valver has a 'modified' late 3 slat grill but im hoping to source the correct early version - however im not keen on paying £75 to heritage for it :(
  12. good advice, especially with a new rad fitted & its pennies really
  13. i brought the specific clip set sold by roose motorsport for their hose kit, which wasnt cheap & 'meant' to be fit for purpose all seems ok so far but i kinda wish i had asked stealth to re-use the VW tension clips :(
  14. Definitely m8!! I have covered nearly 60K in my VR since buying & only renewed rear bearings when replacing rear discs. I dont think i have replaced a front bearing yet PS i also drive it daily & have a dual carriageway clover leaf section near me which gets a regular hammering ;)
  15. Thanks for the advice Jon_vr6! any other related tips or tricks are welcomed :)
  16. great news its arrived Jim! I'm having those exact same thoughts as i type this - though i really need to have it done & my valver mot'd before 9th sept Ive read through Kris' guide many timesm which helps settle the jangling mind, & having managed to get all but 2 of the pics i think it should really help. If i get mine done & you still havent attempted it yet then we are not too far away from each other & might be able to lend a hand :)
  17. for anyone else looking.... also available from the same 'shop' as the ebay shop but via their amazon alternative & is very slightly cheaper @ £58.85 http://www.partshop247.co.uk/VALEO-exchanger-interior-heating-812031/dp/B00BIGRI6E?field_availability=-1&field_browse=1676248031&field_keywords=1755&field_price=5000-9999&id=VALEO+exchanger+interior+heating+812031&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=price%2Cbrandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolor_map%2Csize_name&searchBinNameList=brandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolor_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchKeywords=1755&searchNodeID=1676248031&searchPage=1&searchRank=salesrank&searchSize=12&ktype=1755&vhno=0&make=VW&model=Corrado&year=1995&variant=53I%20[1988-1995]%20Coupe&type=2.9%20VR6&totcat=9
  18. Hi Pauly Could you please confirm the price you would like for the speedline center caps? thanks
  19. arrggghhh the pain lol im hunting for a grill for my early valver but dont think this will fit as the tabs will be in different places :( have you got an early one in the others you mention by any chance? (if your willing to part with it) thanks
  20. hope your ok fella! my good friend from london had a bad time with his one lung deflating multiple times & he ended up having it stitched to his rib cage
