Thanks P3rks much appreciated -
im on the hunt for a matrix for my valver too - i thought valeo were the ones to try & go for.....anyone?
-
if you can make sure you get a 'revised' valeo bearing..... as from my recent experience the only release bearing which did not produce a horrible chirping noise was the final one of 4 which vince at stealth explained valeo rep had described as 'a revised version' ;)

no problem, happy to share experiences & thoughts. unfortunately i am in the midlands so no idea about a mechanic in your area sorry - hopefully there will be someone in your area on here i hadnt seen the pics of your expansion tank previously but as others have mentioned it definitely should not be rusty. if the expansion tank is that bad god knows what your radiator & engine cooling channels /internals might look like :( i hate to say it but i would be preparing myself for the worst case scenario -

im not sure m8 - personally i would probably leave it as is & get a good mechanic to come & take a look BUT i definitely wouldnt try running it again (sorry if thats stating the obvious) reason i say the above is it if you leave it as is then the mechanic should be able to use what he is seeing to trace & confirm the issue, which could be more difficult if it has been drained etc where abouts are you located & do you have a knowledgeable mechanic you can trust? -
good luck :) what size are your wheels by the way? when i brought my old valver back a few months ago it had (& still has until the BBS's are ready) the same wheels as those i your pic. they are 17's on mine & even with the spacers the previous owner fitted they rub the inner wheel arch lining

Options are indeed limited. I have researched for quite a few hours & it really narrows down to either: powerflow - I used BMC in the midlands many moons ago to fit a manifold back full stainless system on my valver a long time ago & it still looks fantastic now ive brought that car back again BUT the guarantee is limited & you have to / are meant to take it back to them each year to get checked longlife - from what ive read on their site & in terms of reviews & the fact they provide the only lifetime guarantee ive seen which is transferable between owners & thus a true lifetime guarantee for the exhaust itself. this is currently my most favourable option having spoken with the owner of the dealership but i have never seen or heard one in real life custom made - turbo thomas in redditch for example makes superb quality custom solutions but wow it would be expensive. I did also see the custom exhaust vince at stealth fabricated & fitted to n3p's VRT & it looked very neat & tidy. i think n3p is happy with it too -
Ahhhh thank you corrado forum & our lovely members - most days you find some way of managing to cheer me up & make the mundane pale away :D

Hi Mr_Rossy - i am in the middle of refurbing my 2 piece BBS splits & have found a very helpful guide online. Link below ;) http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13624

Ooo a standard radiator fitment too, i like it. Im guessing that would give me the possibility of fitting to my genuine VW rad :D

Oh balls!!! Well that excitement didnt last long :( Just went out to fit the RHS one & take a pic to post only to find that the place in the surround on my dash clocks where it fits is broken & is missing the area the binnacle clips in to. New clock plastics required methinks & fingers crossed my valver or the gf's storm aren't the same
