Hi all I have recently brought some BBS RX 2's from a Martin_B (thanks muchly) & have a couple of questions as ive never worked with split rims before. They currently have tires on them which i want to make use of but the wheels need a refurb - can anyone clarify if i would be able to let the air out of the tires to release all the pressure & then remove the bolts & split the rims ok or would it be an issue? Also, is there a special bolt removal tool or is it just a particular size of star driver? Thanks in advance

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Saturday - I treated the blackberry VR to a soak & wash, t-cut all over (bloody bits of tar were a nightmare) & a coat of ultra deep shine whilst the gf washed & super resin polished her storm I also took the white valver for a run & returned home to find that the bonnet catch on the drivers side is not closing properly - another job on the list for that then! Sunday - the gf was up when the birds were & very kindly super resin polished my VR & then put the extra gloss protection on ready for me to shine up once id dragged my ass outta bed. We then had a nice drive to Stanford Hall & had a walk around in the lovely sunshine :) -
err maybe there is logic i there somehwere....but i cant see it either sean ;) lol

Thanks both for confirming the difference. Supercharged - have you plans for both of your new RHD ones? -

bugger its LDH :( -
I recently had similar - a loud rattle from the back of the engine bay & increased exhaust noise - it was found to be one of my exhaust manifold pipes had broken away from the part that mounts it on the back of the block it was a scary noise but thankfully a quick weld later & all was well

I will have some wolf race 4*100 wheels available soon but they currently rub the inner arches restricting full lock, which is why i am changing them. PM me if you want any info

^^^^ ha ha ha brilliant lol

I have looked & looked for potential exhaust replacements & after many hours i think i will be going for a longlife system They quoted me recently for a full stainless system, from downpipe back, & to include a high flo cat & with a 'transferable between owners' lifetime warranty (rather than it expiring if/when you sell the car) & it came in around £400 odd mark Interestingly i did get 2 different quotes from 2 alternative branches so they can move on quote price

Get yourself a BMC CDA - they sound very subtle & throaty at low revs & then give a cracking almighty roar when foot is down :D also, they are quiet when cruising on motorway but give a lovely burble with a blip of throttle

Thanks again for your offer m8, much appreciated! Ive managed to scrape some pennies together for the BBS splits in the classifieds though :)

thanks Kempy - thats kinda what i thought but im prolly being over cautious about the offset as ive never gone to bigger wheels before seller had said they fit ok on his valver with standard suspension height so fingers crossed

Sorry for the post being in 2 places but i need to get back to martin_b on here... Hi all - hopefully someone can help as im struggling with this will it / wont it fit I brought back my old 1990 16v 2 weeks ago & need to take the 17" wolf race wheels off as they rub the inner arch, plus im not completely sure what the 'standard' wheel size was as i cant remember from when i last owned it. Im on the point of agreeing to buy some BBS RX 2's which are 16" with an offset of ET45 & currently have 205*50*16 tyres on - can somebody please save my sanity & clarify if they would fit ok on standard suspension height without spacers? Thanks

Hello m8, welcome There are lots of great knowledgeable & helpful people on here :) You could grab yourself a bentley workshop manual, they come in handy on many an occassion. Annavr6 on here works at VW Heritage & has been working hard to increase their rado parts lists & there are some forum members who produce bespoke items & let us share them (daves16v short shifter & stainless steel its for example) good luck in getting the G60 running again & lets see some pics :D

WOW!! i had that kind of mileage from a few sets of avons during the time bridgestone stopped makning 15" tyres However, my last pair of RE002's lasted just over 12000 miles :D

Bloody hell Jim!!!! Well found, that is a good price but would fitting & balancing be additional? If you have 4 they are £78.39 inc vat & fitting & balancing from Event Tyres & no need to pay petrol to drive to a garage either ;)
