    Hi

Wlecome! Find yourself a good one & come join the fun :)
  4. I can almost imagine the feeling in the pit of your stomach as it drove away Rams - a feeling i dont think i could handle again after selling my 16v years ago but good luck......& see you when your back in a rado ;) lol
  5. WOW that is super cheap!! too cheap possibly, surely!?
  6. from my experience OEM just arent what they used to be :( my last set of front rotors & pads were genuine from VW & as i have intermittent ABS i found that they more often than not locked up extremely quickly under heavy braking & even when i was cautious not to jump on the pedal too hard but then steadily increase the pressure applied. the EBC stuff doesnt seem to suffer this any where near as much also, i was very disappointed when the front discs barely lasted as long as 1 set of pads - from my notes this was approx 22K miles but my main issue was with the rears as the pads were not chamfered on the back of the pad & even now i get horrible squealing noises when braking going backwards. yes i could have taken them out & put a chamfer on them myself but other brake companies do that as standard so why not those who supply VW

    Hello

Hello there :) Have you a rado or are you hunting for one?
  8. ive been running EBC ultimax rotors with greenstuff pads on the front of my VR & have been very impressed with them over OEM i need to replace rear rotors & pads soon & am thinking putting the ultimax rotors on again but with the red stuff pads, however my concern is what their response is like when cold - have you tried the red stuff?
  9. Tidy Sounds like you have a great support structure to turn out a cracking rado restoration!
  10. Thanks Duvel! The Jag looks superb!! & it looks like you have a cracking workshop over there. Out of curiosity, what is the motor in the background of the gunmetaljag pic - you can see the bonnet is tilted upright?
  11. ^^^^ my first was a 1.8 16v too mate & im still on the look out for it if i could get it back :D :D :D you have your work cut out but its excellent to hear another rado has been saved I know its a rado forum but could we have some pics of the jg in the back of your garage too, it looks extremely interesting!!! lol
  12. Welcome home then Duvel Great to hear you have scratched that itch again......its funny how thos with the love always seem to come back at some point Pics pls :)
  13. Oh no!!! sorry to read this Rog, really hope you can get it sorted
  14. I think you have hit a nail on the head there Portent. there are many who have fallen in love with the rado but then chose to make a change & eventually end up questioning themselves as to why they ever parted with their rado in the first place. there are very very few cars, & i say this even about many that i could never afford without a lottery win, that i would rather drive than my rado let alone part with my rado for them apart from the exotics i will likely never afford.......porsche 993 GT2, ferrari 288 GTO, pagani zonda, ferrari F40, porsche engined VW split screen camper van.......the only one i can think of at the moment that when i see one it always makes me think 'damn id love / need one of those' is a BMW E30 M3 on a D or E reg & left hooker but even those are rapidly getting to the 'out of reach' value
  15. ^^^ Now thats a great decision!!! lol
  16. i know a friend of a friend who shoehorns a big block V8 into Z3's / Z4's & they are much fun ;)

  21. Oooo cookie cutters!! At one point i had thought about asking my dad to lend me the wheels off his 1978 911 SC - like these http://www.darrylsgarage.com/911/cookie1.jpg but the fitment would have been impossible i think.....well....that or convincing my dad to lend me them lol I know what you mean about the simplicity suiting a rado & i'd love to see what the F40 type wheel looked like - http://jpmenterprises.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54fcc6a028834014e607a0382970c-800wi
