colour choice is personal, for me red is a bit common & chavvy but i guess it would work with the blue body i went with yellow on my HiSpec's as ive always liked the GT2 calipers being that colour again for me, the yellow looks superb against the blackberry body how about a neon green kind of colour? ive seen the sportier behemoth cayenne peppers & alike have a cracking green caliper

ouch!! im no expert but i wouldnt associate the louder of those noises as tappets good luck - it certainly doesnt sound healthy the poor thing

id like to go but sadly distance & cost is too much - off to the website thanks delfinis!! -
AFIK the VR received the 'wider track' as part of the early / late revision, whilst it also received the 5 stud pattern as such i believe all late vehicles would have the same front bumpers, only early or crossover year vehicles may have a slightly narrower front bumper (about 10mm each side i think) a call to VW wit the chassis number should get a 100% answer
-
ha ha i reckon it needs that much just for the bloody repair panels & welding lol
-
WTF!!?? that is an absurd price i would have guessed at around 100 notes max
-
a lot is an understatement!! lol dont think i have ever seen a car with that many car park dings in a door
-
my initial thought is 'god damn if only i could afford your LM's!!!' lol after thought is 'why didnt the gf & i keep her spare set of solitudes as i could have offered you them as part of a trade' PMSL seriously though - the LM's are & look awesome! i understand your motive for OE look but personally i think the LM's look much nicer than solitudes would which would move my train of thought to if you could have a set of solitudes as show spares

hi fender i believe the adhesive backed felt is the right stuff for the airbox relining - that is what i kindly got sent by someone on here not sure on the vents though
-
sorry i should have clarified - thats kinda what i meant as the G60 is a 1.8 lump, as is the 16v i have - thus if the conversion i mentioned was correct it should apply to you too :) 91 will be an early so putting the late caps etc on the vr coilovers should get you there - i have some printed out info that someone posted here for me somewhere, will go check for you
-
AFIK the only difference is if the vehicle is an early or late model as they have slightly different strut top caps, bushes & bearings if i remember right i believe it is possible to fit coilovers from a VR onto a 16v by using the late caps etc - at least i hope that is correct as ive some in the loft ready for when the valver needs it but havent yet got the late caps etc

good question cressa i too will be doing similar & was thinking as per sean's suggestion for the roof rails but am unsure on the door handles previous stuff ive used on them always fades very quickly, worth a look at stuarts link methinks FYI i have been using that gummi stuff that has been mentioned on here on my window rubbers & it seems to be bringing them back nicely so far cressa - are you replacing he door handle gaskets or did you manage to remove the handle without breaking them?
-
hi chris - sorry i wasnt on here yesterday yes i got them from my local motor factor, few £s each
-
excellent, that is very reassuring sean thank you
-
thanks for all the replies people, very much appreciated need a good chat with the window man my painter knows on another note - damn it ive bloody procrastinated & the genuine wing mirrors have now all gone....grrrr
-
hi all i am starting on the road to fresh paint & looking at a window out job as im sure many of you know this is a headache due to replacement parts being discontinued i am hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction or offer their experience front screen is ok as Heritage do a kit but rear window rubbers are nowhere - any ideas anyone? ive seen vintage rubbers in the US but am unsure rear windows - ive been told that the rubber is fixed on the glass but only 1 side is available - is there a way to get them out undamaged so as can reuse? mine are not too shabby also, does anyone have any experience of if the front & rear screens themselves can be taken out without damaging them? any other thoughts are welcome thanks
-
ok, here you go m8 just hope the 2 relay looms have same or similar to those in my KUR2Y 3 relay versions
-
errr cant find the pic, i really should organise them better lol im in the VR today though & ive some in the glove box, will go get one in a mo
-
only just seen this fella - hold on ive a pic of the ones i took out of my loom when i had a failed one the link you posted doesnt look right as they look to be a dual fitting - whereas the ones i took out were single (if that makes sense) back in a tic with a pic....
-
very true Dr i was of the thought that the VR tappet noise is due to the nature of them being hydraulic tappets which require the lubricant to get round them after start up, so they quieten after a short time but never go silent
-
bloomin gremlins - PITA as can end up chasing things around - good luck with it the VR had a gremlin recently too & she tried to put the fear in me by looking like over pressurising but fortunately, i say that with gritted teeth lol, it was the matrix that let go so ive 2 dash's to take out this summer im loving my 4 pots m8!! i dont travel on many highways lately so gave them a test yesterday at highway speeds, my word they slow you damn quickly - id bet you have eye ball marks on your windscreen with the AP's ;) PMSL
