  1. fuel was my line of thought too Jim, thank you unfortunately i dont have a long enough socket to extract a spark plug & not sure where the fuel pump relay is i will have a look at fuses when i get home. its not immobiliser at it turns over ok. gona have to dig out the bentley.....manual rather than car though lol
  2. balls - new leads fitted. they seemed to be an ok quality too. unfortunately still no joy, same event, just turning over & not trying to fire i cant hear the fuel pump when i first turn the ignition on but i cant recall how loud it was on the valver it is audible on the VR but for life of me i cant remember on the other rado guess it may have to go join the VR at the mechanics :(
  3. thanks Mic - im looking forward to their shiny yellow-ness! i agree with the grooves, not nice for a daily so back to plain discs will be nice hopefully they are only a couple of weeks away
  4. indeed Jim - i cant recall if i asked Vince about it at the time, something is niggling me that i did but im not sure
  5. thanks Jim will keep an eye on the thread to see how you get on i wonder why Vince didnt swap the valves out of our original hoses
  6. tidy be good to hear about it just checked & the gf's old storm is still listed on that traders site. it has been there for some time now, i wonder if he is getting asked about the chains after he bleated on about them not being done & then his advert doesnt say they now have been lol
  7. i have gone for a set of Hi-Spec billet 4's with plain discs & entry level pads i was of the mindset that it would be sensible to invest in the better calipers first & then look at better disc/pad combo in the future i have also found that i dont really like grooved discs, having done nearly 30k on EBS USR discs, due to the noise & vibration pls by all means recommend on disc/pads from your experience :) though no track days etc in the VR EDIT - forgot the image for you mic lol
  8. GSF didnt dispath the leads yesterday due to how busy they were - fortunately the HQ is only 25 mins away so ive just popped over there to collect them fingers crossed the valver will be running again tomorrow
  9. hmm methinks i need to take a look at this too Jim, would you mind letting me know where you got the after market one, place & part number if possible pls? an update with a pic when you do yours would be very much appreciated too :)
  10. ahhhh - you know i have always wondered why the VR started to do that gurgle after id got it back from stealth from memory i think i mentioned it to vince but im not sure
  11. result & in time too same temp here this morning as well, glad i filled up the log burner before i went to bed last night lol EDIT - on a separate note Mic, not sure if you have seen but ive ordered the VR some 4 pots (not AP though)
  12. i have heard of that before Jim - i wonder if stealth did it when they fitted my hoses during head refurb
  13. ha ha ha!!! errr that would be a no - though i am sure with some simple wiring it would be very easy to extend the cables so as to put the charger itself on the outside of the garage, its only 2 wires
  14. tidy keep an eye on the clip for the inlet on the aux water pump, mine came loose ;)
  15. only just seen this Mic - have you sorted it? what was it doing? or not as the case may be?
  16. i use a solar powered trickle charger, £15 from maplins & swap it over depending on which rado i use EDIT: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/solar-powered-12v-24w-battery-trickle-charger-n59fu?cmpid=ppc&gclid=CLmM9cbJzdACFYdAGwodchEOKA
  17. agree - only in retrospect i wouldnt bother with the jubilee clips & keep the OE constant tension ones
  18. new leads ordered from GSF - code blackfriday for 50% ish off - nice!
  19. when it rains it pours valver let me down on saturday but she did get me to where i was going rather than die on a country lane she just refused to start, seemed to try but wouldnt go. thinking fuel or spark, checked under side & couldnt really hear fuel pump but then the valver's is not as loud as the VR checked under bonnet, ignition lead wobbly in seated position - removed lead & feels like the core has broken in it & it flops around like a weeble GSF saying £39.02 for a new set of electrospark leads - anyone heard of or used them?
  20. hi m8 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V/page7&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r page 7 has links to 2 youtube videos & page 8 has pics of its install, which is rather neat & tidy i absolutely love the system fella!! couldnt be happier with it the balance on it softened up beautifully after a month or 2 use - it sounds fecking mint when you drive hard but then is very quiet when off throttle & motorway cruising
  21. i have a Longlife SS with hiflow cat on my VR - 2.5" all the way from just before the cat back birmingham branch fitted mine, took him 7.5 hours to custom fabricate on the car which is lowered to a 2 finger gap between tire & wheel arch there are pics & videos in my build thread on here if you want to see it i couldnt be happier with it & i got a great price of 400 notes :D
  22. order placed - roll on 3 weeks ish!!
  23. good point lol not sure my mechanic would like it though lol

    Window Decal

not sure - i know my gf's storm used to have a CCGB sticker on its windscreen but it wasnt really a decal maybe worth a try there
  25. hi coullstar the discs i believe are 283mm & Alex at Hi-Spec said they use a Volvo 240 pad - Pad Swept Area: 95.7x50.7x10.8mm - not sure how that compares to 280 or 288's the billet 4 are a fixed caliper, rather than floating like the standard, and so should produce a much more effective retardation they are made from billet aluminium i would guess a decent weight saving, specs says 1600g - a bag & half of sugar does not sound very heavy at all. anyone know the 280 or 288 caliper weight? the site does list the actual specifications but i had cut it out of the image i put on the previous post.... Specification: HiSpec brake calipers are available with the following specifications: Disc Width: 6mm up to 32mm Piston Size: 4 x 34.6mm; 4 x 38.6mm; 4 x 41.2mm Piston Material: Hard anodised billet aluminium Colour: Black, Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver, anodised silver, anodised black Body Material: 6082T6 billet aluminium Pad Swept Area: 95.7x50.7x10.8mm Weight: 1600g Hydraulic Thread: M10 x 1.0 Radial Mounting: 152.40mm however i am not sure which piston size it is based on but i will ask as for trying something different, i was kind of loathed to spend nearly £400 on a standard setup which was refurbed 'as new' (in terms of cliper). 288 would also likely be as new or need to be refurb'd. i cant afford new wheels on top so needed a solution to fit under 15's. which kind of only left HiSpec i am also very pleased with the 'different' choice of Longlife exhaust & dragon green on here has had HiSpec's on his rado for quite some time & is very pleased with them fingers crossed & i will definitely update on here as it progresses
