Just had new OEM VAG engine and gearbox mounts fitted to replace the tired old ones - no more engine judder and the gear shift is much smoother.
-
Do you happen to have the Bosch part number for the ISV that fixed this? Thanks.
-
Would you be willing to post them to Ireland? Are they known to be working? Thanks.
-
Cheer for that - I have an old MAF that I will swap in and test and see what the results are. At the moment there is practically no difference in engine behaviour when the MAF is unplugged.
-
Power is down and sometimes it stalls when coming to a stop, and hunting idle as well intermittently.
-
Ok - thanks. What's the best way of testing the MAF?
-
Ok - nothing wrong with mine so. What about the MAF?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to tell if an O2 sensor needs replacing? How long are they supposed to last? Thanks.

Have one on mine

Is there an ECU with the parts? -
I have the issue where it comes on after driving for a while, usually when the engine gets hot, and a stop/start of the ignition makes it go off again. The VAG-COM error I get is on the left rear outlet valve. Will check those fuses though.

Depending on price, I might be interested in a set for a late spec VR. What are you using to stick them on? Is it some kind of tape?

HELP - radiator fan on all the time with ignition off - draining battery
fendervg replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
It was the three pin fan sender in the radiator. -
Try some water and milton ligquid - works wonders if you give it a scrub with an old toothbrush :)

HELP - radiator fan on all the time with ignition off - draining battery
fendervg replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
Managed to get this changed over the weekend - it was the sender that was faulty - now everything runs normally and the after run fan cuts in and thankfully cuts out as expected. The sender I had in it was a low temp one, so not sure if that could affect it. All fixed now anyway, and thanks for all your helpful suggestions. -
Very nice - only eat the spoiler when the car is at rest!

Great - it's started snowing here now - with no garage that puts paid to any plans to change the temp sensor today! -
HELP - radiator fan on all the time with ignition off - draining battery

Thanks dr_mat. I will be replacing the sender first, just in case. Then I'll be looking at the module. Is it this one that I need: http://www.arz-tuning.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p11564_Radiator-Fan-Control-Relais-Module---VW-VR6.html ? -
HELP - radiator fan on all the time with ignition off - draining battery
fendervg replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
Right - when I disconnect the sender on the front of the block it keeps going. When I disconnect the radiator sender it stops. Faulty sender? Or a short somewhere? Does anybody know where the after-run takes it's power feed from? Is it straight from the battery? Thanks. -
HELP - radiator fan on all the time with ignition off - draining battery
fendervg replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
I really hope it's not the sensors as I replaced the coolant ones about 6 months ago when I did the thermostat housing and crack pipe, and the radiator fan switch a year before that. Not looking forward to half drowning in coolant again. -

Ok - will check that. When you mean the air con switch do you mean the third coolant sender at the front of the block?
