  1. Try some water and milton ligquid - works wonders if you give it a scrub with an old toothbrush :)
  2. Managed to get this changed over the weekend - it was the sender that was faulty - now everything runs normally and the after run fan cuts in and thankfully cuts out as expected. The sender I had in it was a low temp one, so not sure if that could affect it. All fixed now anyway, and thanks for all your helpful suggestions.
  3. Very nice - only eat the spoiler when the car is at rest!
  4. Great - it's started snowing here now - with no garage that puts paid to any plans to change the temp sensor today!
  5. Thanks dr_mat. I will be replacing the sender first, just in case. Then I'll be looking at the module. Is it this one that I need: http://www.arz-tuning.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p11564_Radiator-Fan-Control-Relais-Module---VW-VR6.html ?
  6. Right - when I disconnect the sender on the front of the block it keeps going. When I disconnect the radiator sender it stops. Faulty sender? Or a short somewhere? Does anybody know where the after-run takes it's power feed from? Is it straight from the battery? Thanks.
  7. I really hope it's not the sensors as I replaced the coolant ones about 6 months ago when I did the thermostat housing and crack pipe, and the radiator fan switch a year before that. Not looking forward to half drowning in coolant again.
  8. Ok - will check that. When you mean the air con switch do you mean the third coolant sender at the front of the block?
  9. That's normal - it needs to be at about 80 degrees coolant before the standard ECU cycle and 02 kick in. Cold air helps as well.
  10. NOW FIXED. I've had problems with drained batteries and needing jump starts in the last few days, and noticed that the cooling fan seems to run all the time with ignition off (obviously until the battery is empty!) whereas before it was just the after run. Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips? I'll have a read of the definitive cooling thread, and at the moment have the battery disconnected and will check all connections to the coolant senders and fan switch. Cheers for any help.
  11. 1H0915411B for the 54/63Ah battery, 357915411C for the 60Ah one, which is smaller I believe.

    Rubber splitters.

I have the 70mm Spoonfed item with a moderate height drop and am very happy with it, I think if the car is seriously lowered it has to be the 50mm, even though it doesn't look that good.
  13. You can order these from VW or get one on german Ebay. I have one fitted, you'll see it in the Member's gallery in my sig.
  14. Thought that myself when I was taking the pics - lol. The boot is half full of car parts, so that might explain it.
  15. Just uploading some pictures to show the stance and drop with Bilstein B6 shocks and H&R green springs.
  16. You can get these new from VW Classic parts.
  17. I could be interested in one if you get a second lot on the go.
  18. Now sorted. Thanks to clumpy1 - cheers.
  19. Daily or every second day driver here - bought at 36,000 five years ago and now just over 75,000 on the clock.
  20. Not low at all. I run Boge sports shocks and H&R springs and the ride is just a little lower than normal and very comfortable.
  21. This is mine before it went in: http://www.corrado-database.nl/index.php?item=view_media&sc_id=3471&media_id=30045_6870 But I like the idea of having everything hidden away apart from the wiring.
  22. I simply put the relay part of the loom into a waterproof box from Maplins - the cables come out through some kind of round connector. HAs worked well for me.
