  1. Hard to really tell the true condition of that Storm from those pictures - 24k miles is very low - and the seats have more wear on them than that. A full service and parts/restoration history would tell all, or even better a visit in person. If I was looking for that kind of money I'd make sure to put on a Storm badge that hadn't "faded", and throw the old ones in as extras.
  2. Yep, I have one of these fitted - looks nice, but I'd prefer a proper scuttle tray, but that's a different thread...
  3. Give them a call with the part#, or else there's a section on the site that let's you search the classic parts catalogue at: https://classic.heritagepartscentre.com/?ClassicLookup=FLAP You can enter the part# and order from there - be aware that if they don't have it in stock it can take a couple of weeks as they bring stuff over by monthly consignments - hope this helps.
  4. VW Classic Parts have new (not NOS) Corrado ones for around €30.00 https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/schalter-2997eb.html You could order via Heritage to save on shipping - I have one of these in my car and has worked without a problem for two years so far.
  5. It could be that the spline on the passenger side arm is worn down, or that it needs to be re-seated slightly higher. You can get a cool mini puller thing that looks like a small robot's claw for removing the wiper arms easily. If you come across a set of the the 928S blades at a reasonable price it would be interesting to compare, and see what you think.
  6. Picked up the 6x2955426A Lupo GTI driver's side wipers from VW this morning and fitted them, and to be honest, not sure which I prefer. These are both 475mm, and fit fine, but leave a gap on the passenger side, which should definitely be longer. The Bosch 928S aero set which I had been using previously is 475mmm and 530mm, but this is very close, but clears much more of the windscreen. The thing is that all these blades have the mounting point in a different position along the length of the blade, so this changes the swept area. I think the ideal would be 475mm driver's side and 500mm on the off side, with the mounting points positioned in the same place as on 928S set. I'll take a look at some of the individual blades to see where the mount is, but from what I can see they can't be moves once the blade has been assembled - I'm not sure which I'm going to stick with really.
  7. Not really - the only major difference between early and late bonnets was that early ones had a dipped middle section (-___-) and late were raised, to accommodate the VR6 (_---_). Your best bet is to get some Lupo wiper arms, or some have had some luck grinding down part of the raised nub on the arm to let the wipers sit closer to the screen - although I think the weak springs don't help. Bosch blades are best - you can get retrofit Aero ones that will fit on the old arms, but not sure if they make much difference, best bet is proper Aera arms - have also heard of TT wiper conversions for the Corrado.
  8. Is the core not always made of aluminium? I was assuming that "all alloy" meant that the plastic parts of the body on the sides and the casing was also the same...
  9. I always liked the look and idea of having the US spec factory third brake light, and have all the parts bought including the light, holder, loom plug and a loom I made up, but have never got around to fitting it because the car hasn't made it much needed trip to the bodyshop yet and is long overdue. Someone on here had a really cool one where they put pin hole LEDs in the spoiler. The aftermarket ones in Halfrauds etc. always have the problem of how to attach them securely and make them look factory - although I have had them in a few other cars.
  10. Ha ha - I think I might actually have a few of these bought when they were more reasonably priced stashed away. Methinks I'll stick them up on Fleabay for something outrageous! ;)
  11. Parts availability and cost are killing the Corrado at the moment in my opinion - no-one wants a classic car that they can't run, maintain and enjoy. You can still buy nearly everything you need to build a Mk2 Golf or Beetle from scratch. Those dealer prices above from Scott's in the thread were for second hand stock in the late 90s, post 95/96 - the Campaign was early 92, and the one on the list has quite high miles on it. I think no-one was really sure quite what to do with the Corrado, at the time, and now.
  12. Interesting - is it listed anywhere else? I wonder which car it was (each of the six was given to a different high-sales dealership) - maybe the one that travelled to Ireland some years ago?
  13. I think it's the round VW logo that's being asked about - available in both silver and black, but I think stock from factory they were always silver/chrome on a black background - it comes in two parts, the silver logo and a black insert. Could be wrong though.
  14. I'd say these could do the trick on the Lupo arms - 475mm for the driver's side and 500mm for the passenger, which is 30mm less than the Lupo standard passenger side and the ones that come in the A928S pack - assuming the hinge position is correct. https://www.windscreenwipersdirect.co.uk/ap19u-bosch-aerotwin-multi-clip-19-475mm-158.html https://www.windscreenwipersdirect.co.uk/ap20u-bosch-aerotwin-multi-clip-20-500mm.html and works out at half the price of buying from VAG.
  15. Cool - so they have the exchange rate spot on for once. Have ordered two over here as well.
  16. Is it the knurled knob of the adjuster that breaks, or the white plastic clamp thing that sits on the end of the ball joint/screw? I have a nice set of electric adjusters stashed away, and they have a manual dial for adjustment as a backup.
  17. If the outer housing is old, it might compress enough with the clip on to make the inner cable hard to move.
  18. I've seen people use cable ties successfully, but that won't give the slight movement that's needed.
  19. VAG here in Ireland claims to have 6X2955426A available at €23.10 per blade incl VAT - might give it a punt and see.
  20. It might be the little metal clips that secure them each end have come off. If the outer cable is not fixed, the inner can't act on the levers etc. You might also find that a cable that appears to move freely when removed will not move easily when it is bent or clipped in place - in that case the best bet is to get new ones if you can.
  21. There is a gasket I think, but not really needed. The airbox should be held in place by 2-4 (can't remember exactly how many) rubber loops that hook onto the casing and the engine bay area behind the headlight - you should be able to see these if you have a hunt for them. This allows the airbox to "float" a bit while being damped and also held securely in place.
  22. Yep, I stand corrected! Goes to show that I don't have any direct experience of the G60, and was going on my old 1.8 8v PB Golf. They have a single V-belt for alternator and water pump, and when PAS is fitted you uses a double pulley and a second belt. Interesting to know that the G60 setup is different even though based on the same basic block.
  23. Electrics aren't that bad - but can be expensive to fix and troubleshoot - but no worse than any other car of that time, it's just that the Corrado was more loaded with electrical extras than other VWs of the era, so more tends to go wrong. Hell, the Merc W124 even had a biodegradeable engine loom that would just dissolve into nothing. Make sure the ABS light comes and goes out like it's supposed to. I would say bodywork and rust is the most important factor - and if it's a VR6 a lot of mechanical stuff is no longer from the Golf 2 , but rather the Mk3/Passat and a lot of Corrado specific parts. Biggest issue is that you simply can't get some important stuff.
