Hi - is the ABS pump unit available?

Looking for a complete VR6 ABS pump unit with the six outlets. Would need posting to Dublin, Ireland and can paypal. Many thanks.

The red OEM leads are made by Bremi - I was able to get them from a motor factors. VW Classic parts also sometimes have leads in stock.

I've never replaced the small o-ring on the allen key drain plug on the filter housing in all the years of changing the oil.

No problems so far with either Mann or Hengst parts - both are good quality items.

I'd go for VAG or OEM quality parts, don't go poly for the top mounts as it will be too stiff in my opinion. The rear lower mounts are only available through VW Classic Parts or Heritage in the UK. Lemforder do repair kits for the front and rear top mounts and are decent quality - I can get the part numbers for you if you need them. These are the VAG part numbers: Front strut mount 357412331A x 2 Front strut top mount bearing 1J0412249 x 2 Rear strut mount upper 191512335 x2 Rear strut mount lower 191512333 x 2 (only available from Classic Parts) Bump stops etc. should be readily available.

I believe Jim is right here - the red badges were for the early VR6s with distributor instead of the coil pack. Mine has red VR6 front and back and a body-coloured Corrado script on the rear. It's a 93 reg car, made in late 1992.

Not to the UK, no. lol: unless I pop into Stealth for a bit of TLC on the way! I can get my windscreen replaced under insurance here, but you get stuck with whoever they send out. Personally I would drive the car to the fitting shop myself and ask to speak to the most senior/experienced fitter there and check if they have done a Corrado before. Then I'd watch the whole thing from start to finish - at least that's my plan for when it eventually gets done.

What about an ABF G60 for some real wellie?

Better to be safe than sorry. It's one of the jobs I've been dreading on mine, I have some slight delamination in the corners and a fair few scratches, but have been putting it off for fear of the fitter messing it all up and breaking all the trim when doing the replacement.

This will turn into one of those controversial Storm/No Storm threads! You can get better spec non-storms, and maybe even nicer colours, although I always loved the green Storm with beige interior (a devil to keep clean though, I'd say). Was toying with the idea of a couple of storm badges on my pearl grey to make a new limited edition! ;) Oh, and Speedlines all the way.

Can you transfer the VIN?

VW Part# 4A0919040C 12V/1.1W, same as back lights for the MFA in the instrument cluster, and a few other spots.

I'll try and check this out later when I get home - I think they might be 5W ones with a black base that are a push and turn fit - but I think you can get the bulbs for the bases seperately.

There could be a hairline crack in your manifold - but hopefully it's not that. Looks like you've checked all the obvious things.

Good G60s are few and far between these days, so should be going up in value.

It's a closed loop pressurised cooling system.

I got both sides new from VW Classic Parts last year - maybe they are still available?

Stay away from the cheap ones - they will only go bad after a few months - been there done that.

It's the red badges I'm worried about - I'm terrified they will get robbed at some point and prove impossible to replace. And they look the business with the pearl grey metallic bodywork.

I'd say they keep a TEVES 02 ABS ECU tester in stock because they know the system is crap and has always been! Most early ABS pumps all work on the same principle anyway, so the design and components will be standardized. It's just a bad design.
