  1. No rush. PM me the details and we'll sort something out. Thanks. Postage would be to Dublin, Ireland.
  2. Would love to get hold of a set of these - does anyone have any they would like to part with or have any leads on where to get them? Using a set of Lidl generic ones at the moment - they do the job but don't fit right. Thanks all.
  3. Well not today, but a few days ago, at my trusty mechanics as I don't have access to a lift: New Lemforder strut top mounts all round, new VAG rear axle beam bushes fitted, brake system bleed and a new lambda sensor. The car now handles appreciably better and the engine is nice and smooth. I've replaced nearly all the engine related sensors now, so lets see what happens to the idle and cutting out woes. Fingers crossed.
  4. Can confirm needle does not move when cranking a fully working engine. I think the RPM signal comes from the hall sender anyway and also the ignition coil, so will only show when ignition is running as well as the engine turning.
  5. Yep, having a lovely day with my four beautiful daughters! Got a nice set of Star Wars stacking mugs and some t-shirts. Hope you all have a good one. And remember, the Corrado IS a practical family car - two baby seats in the back when needed and keep a 7-seater as a your daily. ;)
  6. I think I got one for myself, so will wait to see what BBA-Reman have to say about it when it arrives. They seem to be getting really hard to find and lots of them are past it anyway at this stage. There were loads of cars breaking a few years back, and now not so many. Keep an eye out on German ebay, and one or two on here may have ones from breakers. The common faults with the pumps seem to be crud in the valve block, dodgy wiring connectors and the dry solder joints and the ribbon cable on the circuit board. Any you buy now are likely in need of a good clean up or repair. Incidentally VAG still sell them new, but for the approx €2400 they are asking you could just go and buy another VR with working ABS! ;) Good luck with your search.
  7. Pretty sure the needle doesn't move when cranking, but will check later.
  8. I'd take two please, one if there's not enough to go around.
  9. I think it depends on what speed the fan is staying on at, as the different stages are controlled by different sensors. When this happened to me (fan stayed on after car turned off with key out and battery running flat) it was definitely replacing the three pin sensor in the radiator that fixed it for me.
  10. Bugger - BBA reman just rang to say that the unit they received had a completely broken loom connector, so could not be repaired. @micromarc - you still got yours? How much are you looking for it?
  11. I'll take a set of these once you have the end pieces in stock. Great stuff.
  12. Thanks. I've ordered a refurbished one from BBA Reman. It should be here next week, so we'll see how that goes, but I'll keep this in mind in case it doesn't work out.
  13. Replaced the oil pressure sender for the VDO gauges as the old one was sticking. Replaced all the HT leads - runs lovely now. Cleaned ISV.
  14. Do you still have the ABS pump unit? Thanks.
  15. Looking for a complete VR6 ABS pump unit with the six outlets. Would need posting to Dublin, Ireland and can paypal. Many thanks.

    VR6 HT Leads

The red OEM leads are made by Bremi - I was able to get them from a motor factors. VW Classic parts also sometimes have leads in stock.
  17. I've never replaced the small o-ring on the allen key drain plug on the filter housing in all the years of changing the oil.
  18. No problems so far with either Mann or Hengst parts - both are good quality items.
  19. I'd go for VAG or OEM quality parts, don't go poly for the top mounts as it will be too stiff in my opinion. The rear lower mounts are only available through VW Classic Parts or Heritage in the UK. Lemforder do repair kits for the front and rear top mounts and are decent quality - I can get the part numbers for you if you need them. These are the VAG part numbers: Front strut mount 357412331A x 2 Front strut top mount bearing 1J0412249 x 2 Rear strut mount upper 191512335 x2 Rear strut mount lower 191512333 x 2 (only available from Classic Parts) Bump stops etc. should be readily available.
  20. I believe Jim is right here - the red badges were for the early VR6s with distributor instead of the coil pack. Mine has red VR6 front and back and a body-coloured Corrado script on the rear. It's a 93 reg car, made in late 1992.
  21. Not to the UK, no. lol: unless I pop into Stealth for a bit of TLC on the way! I can get my windscreen replaced under insurance here, but you get stuck with whoever they send out. Personally I would drive the car to the fitting shop myself and ask to speak to the most senior/experienced fitter there and check if they have done a Corrado before. Then I'd watch the whole thing from start to finish - at least that's my plan for when it eventually gets done.
  22. What about an ABF G60 for some real wellie?
