  1. sorry if this is in the wrong place. how would you adjust the calibration of a speedo to allow for a change of wheels/tyre profile etc? can this be done yourself or is a stealer job? cheers jim
  2. the 288's fit g60 discs though. wasnt any need to sell them on

  4. shame i didnt write it down, but i asked about an inlet manifold for a g60 and was highly unimpressed to be told in the region of £540
  5. 117k on my g60. not a turn off for me. i like old motors, they save me from the wonderful thing called depreciation. mention that word a few times when your getting ear ache about new cars. my mums car is worth £3000- £3500 less than when it was new and it cost a but under £10000. only on a 58 plate

  7. f05.gif[/attachment:ulas714h] ? bad picture i know!!
  8. 'Pininfarina' wasnt he the bloke who designed the fiat coupe? went on to bmw after i believe. think you need to see where he was working then. or wheelwhores
  9. doesnt sound wrong to me. you can pass the shell on to someone that needs it to keep it alive. fairly straight forward to swap into a mk2. better off to start with a digifant though as it has the later wiring/fuseboard, and so much easier to start with an ecu model. we did a vr into an early 1.3 mk2 and that was a right bitch. on the plus side at least you know whats happening now, better than sitting around with your thumb up your ass
  10. I ordered one today £29 for it, will be getting it friday. How so you guys get discount? your ccgb will get you discount from vw i believe. as its an official vw group. trade is the other way
  11. think i made a discovery this afternoon. i think because the exhuast "points up" so to speak at the tail pipe this is allowing rain to sit in it. hence the water vapour when it starts up. odd what you notice when your not actually looking for it
  12. there was a bloke in bmw that had the same problem. long story short he was told he couldnt turn the engine off, ended up crashing at a roundabout. didnt hear bmw being torn to pieces for that though. still yesterdays news now. its airbags today
  13. looks in good nick. reasoanble miles. 2 owners from new. clearly had some money thrown at it. id want to know more about service history and have a test drive. but assuming they are ok id say its a fair price for a clean example.
  14. Not heard of one to be honest. Gwerks do a 720mm one can cut to size. Or i had a small reducer made 2 to 2 and 1/2 then used an exhaust sleeve.
  15. depends what corrado really. my throttle is stiffer than the make two golf i had. not an issue though. gearbox it depends really, the cable change are always a little loose in my experience
  16. there isnt a specific torque as far as im aware. just judgement really. the idea is to have it tight but definatley not to tight. you can feel when it starts to bite so stop clean it up and check for leaks. if it leaks 1/4 of a turn and repeat. just take your time
  17. well had a morning on it today finally. it seems the compression tester i bought doesnt work, nothing but zero readings. doh. on the up side i decided not to top up coolant today and it has not lost any at all. so still about a litre shy of full but not going any where under. tick over was sitting high again, about 1500rpm. warmed up to 92 today then took it out and gave it full throttle to about 4000rpm a few times. had a little cough the first couple of times, but then ran clear. no smoke from exhaust when i got home, tick over had dropped to near enough 750rpm but still hunting. safe to say i now have no idea whats going on and i think im going to admit defeat and take it to a garage to pump up the coolant system tp see of they can find a leak.
  18. seems a little shy to be honest. bump up with labour costs to £2-3000 add a grand on to paint and your more likely to be there. shame you missed the 4wd r32 corrado £7500 a few months ago. FUC*ING BARGAIN!!!!!
  19. i just dont know what to do really. could stand and stare at the rado for hours, such a good shape. maybe twice that if the paint was good. but realisticly if its going to be a pain then i wont be able to keep it. at the same time i would be gutted to let it go.
  20. no aswell as! g for fun, turd for work
  21. nothing hefty for me. doing a mortgage on my own means it needs to be affordable. cant be bothered with doing nothing but paying bills. i dunno, try and find a cheap runaround for the work run maybe?
  22. love it. always loved the noise of a charger, half the attraction i think. not the wrong one just bits and bobs going wrong with it, no different to any othe 20 year old car i guess. only down side really is the paint its fooked, been looking into re-shell but need to confirm where coolant is going first. downside is ive done 60 hours over time in two weeks to help save for deposit. tinkering time has seemingly vanished
