  1. thats possibly part of the problem. i had to make a loom to get my g60 clocks working in a 1.8 16v shell. look for engine code (9a, 2.0 16v or kr 1.8 16v). stick a picture up of your engine/look in members gallery at known engines.
  2. give us a couple of clues such as what car, has it had an engine conversion, are clocks thought to be original, rest of dials working correctly? commonly your looking at the 3 cable electircal connector on the top of the gearbox. cables are getting old and brittle now so often break. loose/bad connections. follow cables back to clocks if needs be.
  3. they are much like sat navs now. most require you to subscribe to get "live" updates for speed camera vans etc but go off for fixed ones. my mates old boy used to have the jammer thing under the bonnet for plod with the radar gun. he said it works.
  4. just wondering if anyone can get an up to date price on solid front discs for a 53 plate audi a4 1.8t and brake pads to match if possible. bloke at work has been quoted a pretty hefty price through a non vag garage, just hoping to save him a few quid. cheers jim
  5. They are 90-92 can get part number off box if you want it. Cheers jim
  6. I have some brand new boxed green stuff pads. They are 16v ones so 3mm thinner but work the same. £25 delivered if you want them
  7. lambda probe can cause this sometimes too.
  8. looking good to me. do like the silver rados ill keep an eye out for you, being a local whats the deal with the piece of poop in the avatar picture then?
  9. they are the same shape. depends on hangers/early late fitment. but can be made to fit by an exhaust place for cheap regardless
  10. the one next to the oil feed is the important one. as long as you dont go mad on this one it will be ok. have a look at the race spec chargers they go to town on them.
  11. timing is good. changing cam belt for good measure in a couple of weeks. co pot was removed a long time ago. just seems odd that its only happy with it unplugged. exhaust has a slight blow but wouldnt have thought that would kick up a fuss as it seals up when it warms up a little.
  12. my car wont seem to idle properly (1250-1500rpm currently) unless i unplug the blue connector from the temp sender. at which point it idles as it was meant to. i assume the temp sender is dodgy but just hoping to confirm really??
  13. kr carriers no good. need g60 ones. kr calipers are not the same as g60/vr6 ones butuse the the same shape pads. only real difference is the thickness of the pads you use, thinner by 3mm in kr ones. but yes you can get away with just discs and carriers if needs be.
  14. 16v calipers will work with the correct carriers yes. Redrill or change hubs, yes. Easier to use the 280 discs and the 288 carrier/calipers in my opinion.
  15. 288 discs are 5 stud dude. Seat did 304 4stud i think

how can you make a comment like this when youve ruined a perfectly good car? :pukeright:
  17. yeah im sure there will be. shouldnt need to be specific a mk2 golf one would give you more than enough info. they are pretty simple to put in if you have a little knowledge and are spanner friendly. boot solenoid brings up a fair few on egay

  20. cool, wasnt badgering you. just wondering. yes dust caps came a few days after i ordered them. thank you
  21. any joy on my 8 ball yet? cheers jim
  22. lost on me. if you dont want it to be a lambo anymore why put all the badges on show? sort of makes the whole swap pointless in my eyes. this is why people should be made to give away money when they have enough to do dumb $hit like this
  23. i think my car is great, but it isnt. should i get my coat?
  24. i like the carbon monocell bit, only because we make the carbon for them. and yes i am a geek
  25. Haha yeah they do a tiny bit, have to keep an eye on them and grind it off. Big difference in stopping power though.
