25k is way too much. The problem is what else you can buy for the money. I'd probably be looking at an M3 of some kind. However I do think they will, slowly, appreciate in price. Interesting. Do tell?

Yay that's me sorted for another year. Insured and MOT passed

Yes it seems forever (in a nice way :D). -
VR6. In Claygate near Esher.

Happy days. Passed the MOT today. But a few days ago the CV boot came off completely (grease everywhere!) so that needed doing before the MOT. I also took the opportunity to get the thermostat changed as well as the plugs and they also needed to replace a droplink. As they drove the car off the ramp to give it back to me I fell in love with it all over again. The look and sound is great and even with a few bits of work it costs peanuts to run. I've not had much time to use it recently but I want to get to a few more shows through the rest of the season. I've now owned PWE for four years which is the second longest I've owned any car (the longest being 8 years for my 4motion). Also just a quick recommendation for SE Autoworks in Guildford who I have used for several years and always seem to do a good job. They often have interesting cars there too which is a good sign - mk1 Golf, mk4 R32 and another Corrado (also a DeLorean last year).

I may be up for this as have not managed to do many shows this year. Depends on date and location. I am in Surrey but don't mind a few hours drive. I think 53 cars is the highest I've seen together.

Black (or midnight blue?) VR6 today at SE Autoworks in Guildford while mine was in for its MOT. M*** EGF

Yes must have been you. It looked blue to me but the rain was so heavy I was very mistaken :) Your car looked great. I just saw you as I came past so thought I'd pull in front to have a little convoy. Unfortunately I wasn't going to Stanford Hall today as I didn't think I would be free this weekend. But it turned out I was. So instead I met my brother at IWM Duxford to look at the air and war museum, and they also had a car show there as well.

Got a chufty from the petrol station cashier today. When I paid he commented on it being a lovely old car.

Blue VR6 I think. On the M25 today at 8.50 around junction 14. Also my brother saw several today, presumably on the way back from one of the shows. He mentioned a dark blue one with twin headlamps and sounded turbo'd. Edit: And a Blackberry VR6 M***GGJ at IWM Duxford today.

I got the two box bundle a few Christmases ago at a cracking deal of around 300. Great boxes. Would recommend.

Great video. It reminds me so much of the third car I owned and certainly the first one with any decent performance; a Scirocco mk2 GTX. It's the reason I now have a Corrado. At the same time my brother had a mk2 Scirocco Storm but with a dealer fitted Oettinger 16v engine. His car is still running although he no longer owns it. Such fun cars.

If he sits on the bonnet I'm taking out a contract on him :afro:

Lovely car :)

Welcome :) If the TT alloys are the highly polished wide 5 spokes then they are "Competition Alloys" (also sometimes referred to as fat fives although that's not quite correct).

New (old) member soon to be seeking some nostalgia

Welcome. -
If the mileage is genuine then that seems a good price. But look at the overall sale and decide whether it appears genuine. The advert and black wheels don't scream to me the sort of owner to have and keep a low mileage car. So check for other supporting history. Apart from that check the usual things such as rust, service history, do all other electrics work, heater fan, sunroof, spoiler, heater matrix, etc. But if genuine and it all checks out then it seems a good price, although I am basing that on UK prices. I don't know US prices but it would still seem good.

The aux belt is easy least. Even I managed to change mine. The head gasket will be harder but I would probably give it a go if it were me.

Welcome :)

It looks like Clarkson is indeed to be sacked: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11493270/Jeremy-Clarkson-to-be-sacked-by-the-BBC.html

Congrats :)

Lovely car. I am a little interested as a replacement for my mk6 GTI. But sadly no sunroof (not a deal breaker) and stronger money than I think I'd be prepared to pay (worth it though - just too much for me).

Warm start issues. Spoiler doesn't work automatically. Sunroof doesn't work. Heater matrix gone. Heater fan only works on speed 4. Driving puts permanent grin on face.
