Group B was fantastic and really massive at it's peak. There is a documentatry about it somewhere which is worth watching. Spectators used to try and touch the cars as they went past. Madness. It's on DVD but occasionally appears on the BBC too: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Madness-Wheels-Group-Rallyings-Years/dp/B007PQP8R2 VAG in F1 could be interesting and they could change to a different part of the group each year depending on their prospects... start with Skoda then move all the way up until they are Porsche during their wins :)

Have you noticed that almost without exception Corrado's get positive comments from the car community whenever one pops up somewhere? I know they aren't worth much but they definitely have a nice following.

I've lost the love to some extent for mine. But I know it will return and luckily it is a second car and I've tucked it away in the garage. I know if I ever sell it I won't get another one and I can't bring myself to do it. Strangely I can't bring myself to SORN it either so I just renewed the tax even though I could quite easily leave it in the garage the whole winter. I like to know I can drive it if I want to. Come the warmer weather again I will get the love back. That first day with the roof and windows open in the sun will make it all worth it :)

Does this help? http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=57847&page=2

Also the Golf Recaro's have one way electric movement (back adjustment I think) while the Corrado Recaros have two way (back and height).

Looked at it once more in the garage and realised I've not driven it since I changed the oil and filter a couple of months ago :( I'll charge the battery tomorrow and take it for a blast later this week :)

Nice to see it mentioned: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=31047&utm_source=2014-10-22&utm_medium=email&utm_content=html&utm_campaign=newsletter

New tax rules. Thinking of selling. Panic or not ??
Portent replied to feeenix14's topic in General Car Chat
That's actually a really good idea. They could charge an extra £10, or whatever, to make it attractive to the insurance company. Then a buyer would have the option of the standard price at a post office/online, or the convenience of tying it to the insurance. -
SE Autoworks in Guildford have worked on mine a couple of times. A little further out but I would use them again.

My brother has an E46 M3 manual and it is a wonderful machine. I would go with that.

What annoys me about this system is the double taxation it causes, combined with making it more difficult to just buy a car and drive it away with a simple call to the insurance company. -
Very nice. Strangely I've been thinking about learning to ride recently.

I can't yet bring myself to remove it. I have a folder full of history so am quite tempted to find the earliest one in in the folder and put it back in. Retro baby :)

There are good deals on these again. Quite tempting: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/golf-r-tsi-300bhp-personal-lease-178-79-month-inc-vat-centralvehicleleasing-2013734

I watch that site quite often and am fairly sure that's the first time they have had a Corrado on there. Which is a good indication that they are becoming more collectable.

I just did a vehicle check and it's currently SORN. So still around but not on the road at present.

That's very nice indeed. I love the Ed30's and almost bought a Pirelli edition (similar to Ed30 but with funky seats) before the mk6. It sounds like it may already have been mapped as my mk6 (with almost the same power as an Ed30) feels quick but not savage like you describe. As well as the front wheel arches watch for rust on the boot lid. Shocking build quality by VAG really. But lovely cars to drive and you should even have a free bottle opener with it :D

I'd say either silver or black centres with a silver rim. I saw a white 944 with black/silver recently and quite liked it.

Should be something you can do yourself. Mine had a minor leak but I just had to tighten up the connection around the hoses. Stand in front of the engine bay looking into it. On the left (drivers side) of the engine block should be two black rubber hoses going into the top of the engine (it's actually into the fuel rail). The rubber pipes age and they can leak at this point. Sometimes tightening them is enough but sometimes they need replacing. If there is no leak there, then follow the rubber hoses back looking for any leaks. If you need to replace them, then original shaped hoses can be expensive. But a lot of people just replace them with standard fuel hose.

The Industrial cabs are good and on offer. Very happy with mine.

That looks good. Depending on cost it's probably worth a try.

They may hold it but if not then they could probably get it in 24 hours.

Just looked. I only have small ones unfortunately.

Where in Surrey are you and what size do you need? I have a socket set here in Claygate near Esher/Kingston you can try. Edit: Not sure I have any big ones though. Will go and check.
