  1. a faulty fuel pressure regulator can cause this concern, maybe worth swaping it for a know good one.

  4. yeah i find that two, you get the odd few bits and peices, clips,screws, ect,ect, and with the vat its always over 100 quid, and i even get all parts at cost!!
  5. thanks joe blogs, glad i cleared that up, myn looks a mess, is all of the daviva a/c equipment, easy to get hold of at the dealers is it listed , or is the parts obsolete for the a/c system?
  6. a bit off topic, but i have a/c aswell and it looks as if im missing that top foam/cardboard peice, a pic would be awsome, and with all a/c corrados is the passenger shelf been cut and shortened to allow for the blower motor and a/c pipes ect, a picture of that would make my day, my looks so bodged in there, and is there any way to get the plastic bits the remake the shelf with?

  10. there is a microswitch in the door handle, you can only replace the handle complete, about 60-70 quid from the dealer.

  12. i dont think it is, beacuse its listing 14 units, 7 on each, and there is only 2 clips on each lamp equalling 4 . give it a bash and find out!!
  13. id prob do gearbox oil change , while you in there, unless its already been done, makes a big diffrence to the smoothness.

  17. i have a full recon spoiler mech ready to fit,greased up came off a low mileage 95 vehicle, check out my for sale thread.
  18. the battery light indicate a charging issue, you need to check the charge rate from the alternator, check and clean connections on the battery terminals, ive seen these go green over time a cause high resistance, you need a multimeter on volts, and check the output a idle, should be between 13.6v and 14.2 v if the battery is good, the load alternator by switching on all electrical consumers, and see if the alternator is still delivering good voltage, you can also check alternator amps output, put that test should prove if the alternator is doing its job, also check connection on the back of the alternator.secure and clean.check the alternator belt is tight and not slipping. let me know how you get on.

  20. am i right in saying you cannot buy standard size piston rings from vw anymore, only oversized 1mm, and these can me installed on the original pistons, with the block being bored 1 mm out, ? :shrug: id also inspect the big end and main bearing shells, for wear, and replace as neccesary,not sure sizes again, think you have to use a plastiguage to measure for correct shells.intermediate shaft /bearings also need inspecting for wear,damage. id personally going doen the rebore route, as soon as i get the money, and if i wantted to charge it id go with the thicker metal headgasket. can someone tell me where to find arp stuff and what is good, ie conrod,headbolt ect, and the advantages over stnadard equipment, stronger?
  21. where do you get the 3.1 pistons and rings from.
  22. i think you can just get 1mm oversized piston ring set from the dealers.so you may not need to replace all the pistons ,only the damaged ones.
  23. thats rite, give them a flick with the engine running and make sure they are fitted in correctly/tight.
  24. i had this exact same fault, and it was a dry soldered joint inside a relay in the relay box, try this, remove the fuse box shelf, with the engine running, tap the relays one by one, the relay that was faulty on mine was the ecu power relay, causing the engine to cut out,when tapped or moving over rough ground, let me know how you get on alex
