I was looking online last year , i typed in modified car ins , the ones we normally use on here did not come up on a compare site , i had a look , the most expensive came in at 10,000 !! lol and i am 43 years old with no convictions accidents etc . Check out the ins brockers on here , dont forget to look at performance direct who i use , they have never been beaten when i look . Well its mot time on tuesday, ,due to lack of funds i had to sorn the vr around a year ago?. Now back on an even keel and cant wait to be driving her again . I no longer have access to a garage[dont think the ex would let me use hers anymore lol] and dont really fancy doing a service on the drive ,so my friendly mechanic who does the harder stuff i cant do, is going to do it . So fresh oil , filter, plugs , gearbox oil and g12 and she will be tip top . The battery has been on trickle charge , put that back in today and did a sneaky drive round the block !. So its fingers crossed for a pass on tuesday . Looking forward to a good 100 mile drive to clean out the cobwebs .Rob

As above , like you said it all depends how its been treated , the vr is a strong engine , as above again 130k is nothing really .

And very expensive to replace if you have to !

Me bein self employed have to go to work if im ill , best thing though is hot bath when you get home , vitimin c , and plenty of sleep , night nurse really helps and olbus oil on your pillow to keep your nose from blocking up . 2012 and no cure for the common cold lol

Will be looking into this myself as my revs are goin up n down on cold start but fine when warm , dont have any stalling probs though . Could be something to do with the battery going flat ,then re connecting , also could do with a good 100 mile run to get it back into shape ? Rob

Only a small update , my vr will be back on the road in november , i will have the money by then to tax and test . So looking forward to those winter mornings when you can just jump in and go for a drive . Will be changing oil , gearbox oil and fresh g12 . Rob

Mine has been off the road for a long time now , left it in the garage after splitting with the mrs , got her back to her new home now, next month is mot n tax time !! .Can honestly say i cant wait for those weekend mornings when its crisp but dry , jumping in and going for a drive , cant wait to hear that vr roar again .

Try revs west , they should have a site , breathable and soft lined, three air pockets, and goes right over the wheels . I need a new one as i left it in a garage and its now full of holes , pesky mice !

,Was watching the tele while i was doing other things . They featurured these cleaning products from jml , from what i saw , there is no cleaning needed other than to spray on and wipe off !!!??? , is it me ? where does all the mud and grit go? ,surley to god it must scratch the hell out of the paint work . It showed a car that was filthy ,then the spray on and wipe off bit . A women saying i dont have time to get the hose out and wash it !Anybody on here want to try it out on a dirty rado ? , dont think there will be any takers on here .

Sh=t happens mate ,its good to be back .

Well its been a while since i have been on here !, my relationship broke down and i had to start all over again , the vr went to robbie r32s garage[who now has matts vr ] and there it stayed for five months . Had a lot of sorting to do , so have not been on the forum , cant believe i have not logged on for all this time . The vr has a new home with my new mrs ,so we now have a mk4 golf , a t4 and the vr .I drove it for the first time a while back from robs to mine and it was a bit lumpy to say the least !, but she soon settled down and ran fine . Mot has now expired , but i hope to get that sorted soon . looking forward to getting back into the forum now . Rob .
