  1. I would do this sooner , rather than wait till summer . When it gets worse , which it will , not only will you have wet carpets , but wet underlay as well. This is not pleasant. It soaks water up like a sponge and will take forever to dry out .
  2. Ah , thanks Ian , I didn't see that . I will have a go myself then .
  3. They are a huge improvement on the original faded badge .
  4. I would like one of these too . In red please . Are they still being made ?
  5. Thanks Hasan . Im not sure really , it's hard to say . It's fairly quiet inside , definitely not noisy . By the time the underlay is stuck down and the new carpet in , there should be an improvement.
  6. Thanks James .Its nice to get broken things fixed , I can't stand it when things arn't right , bugs the hell out of me .
  7. Chris [Vaghag] may be able to help you there Rog .
  8. I visited Rog today . It was pouring down , so we put the car in the garage .How nice is it to have a garage with benches and tool boxes to hand , it was bliss . So first of all we , i say we , Rog tested and found where to hook up the heated seat loom to the fuse box . I had already put it all in place , so Rog plugged it all in and it works , so all good there ,thanks Vaghag for the loom. We then removed the centre dash bits to get to the heater controls as the directional control was broken . We had a spare unit , so we robbed the parts off of that and put it back in all working . I had a forty minute drive back and dinner at the outlaws at 4.30 ,so i drove back with nothing fitted back other than the heater controls as we run out of time , but at least i had air blowing on the screen . So i now need to find the thread , of the chap who makes the coloured backlit stuff to make it red behind the controls and i can start fitting the interior back in . Im a little dissapointed with the delux underlay set i bought for under the carpet . Its all well and good having a double layer , but fitting the seat on to the rails and sliding it along to put the bolt in is a real task . I can see me removing one layer from under both seats otherwise its going to drag on it when the seats need adjusting , i may as well have bought the normal set to be honest . Im waiting for new parts from Heritage , new carpet , handbrake trim and the stub axle covers . Once i have the covers the car will be going in to have the rear end underside taken off and all the new parts fitted . I wanted to be in on this with my friendly mechanic , but im up to my eyes in work and i just cant see me being able to take a day off and help to do the job . but never mind . Oh and ive ordered a Seat cig lighter , im hoping to rob the red plastic surround off of it , so i can make the Corrado one light up red in the dash instead of green , thanks to Hasan for the tip . Massive thanks to Rog today for all your help , Bacon butties , coffees and a nice dry garage .
  9. My Mrs cousin came down from the Lake District for the weekend , she is struggling to get home atm .Her local FB page is saying no roads in are passable .
  10. Glad these have turned out well . Thanks again for taking over this for me Rog . See you tomorrow mate .
  11. You can't beat a clean bay Jim . Looking great .
  12. Thanks Hasan , I bought the Seat one on the bay . About £7.00 . Rob
  13. I would take pics and label everything as you unplug it . If the connecting end has the same label to its opposite plug , you can't go wrong . If it's not a new loom rap it in emalgamating tape as your connecting each plug .
  14. Sorry Hasan . The Seat , lighter you mentioned , I've looked on flea bay . Not sure if they are the same ? Or am I just buying it to remove the red filter ? . Rob
  15. Done it , it's all separated . Thanks mate .
  16. I'm now left with the green ring on the metal part .
  17. Yeah , I've got both parts of the bulb holder off now . Just gently struggling with the rest of it lol . Thanks Hasan .
  18. I've tried Hasan , but the bulb holder clip wants to come with it ? . Am I trying to place a knife under the green ring and pull it away from the case ?
  19. Is this possible ?.After removing the bulb and holder , I can't see if it comes apart . The reason for this , is because of the green ring , I'm trying to go all red with the alluminations in the cabin . I'm trying to get as much info on doing this mod as I can , as Rog will be helping me and two heads are better than one so to speak . . Many thanks Rob
  20. Thanks for answering my questions all of you . Having chatted with Rog today I'm going to go all red . I like the green to , but the red is fine . Looking forward to a mini meet at mine on Sunday . Bacon and dog rolls all round !
  21. Evening all. Sometime back , when i had my interior in bits , i was given some parts to change the lighting . So the clocks are red , along with the wondow switches . With one thing and another it didnt get finished . Now im doing a lot of interior work, it makes sense to get this sorted . While i like the red illumination , it does not look good when the heater controls , lighter and headlight switch are still green . I presume this is because you cant get the red see through tube that goes inside the heater control . If i put red bulbs in i dont think it would work . So im thinking of going back to green . Now i didnt do this job so im not sure what went in behind the clocks ?, is it some kind of red illumination tube instead of a green one ?. Plus the fact that the replacement headlight switch is the standard green .Am i right in thinking its just a small bulb that lights the window switches ?. Any help and advice would be very much appreciated . Many thanks , Rob
  22. I stopped buying the mag a long time back . The way i see it , the Corrado takes a back seat when it comes to the Golfs . Ive noticed the same at shows . You will be lucky to see a Corrado in PVW more than twice a year .
