  1. I finished work early today for a change , so ive made a little progress on the interior .Because of the weather and work its hard to get much done . Its dark when you get home or its raining on sundays . Anyway , the heated seat loom is fixed from the rear door card to the switch , ive left it hanging ready to connect to the fuse box and in position to connect to the seats . I then laid the closed cell sound deadening . It was nice and easy to stick down , although you have to get it right first time as when its stuck , its stuck , there aint no moving it after its stuck down . I realised after starting that i had not ordered enough , Bum !. So i need another pack , but at £17.00 inc the dreaded its not going to break the bank . The delux underlay that goes on top that you can see in the pics is not glued down yet , i just laid it in to check the thickness . Its nice to take my time and get things done right , ive no interest in driving the car in the winter , its no fun in the wet and dark , but with just the drivers seat in at least i can drive a few dry miles and keep the battery charged. I find it hard to do any major work in the summer ,as i always want to be out in it . Ive spoken to one of my neigbours that has two compressors with all the spray attachments and he is more than happy to lend it to me ,so i will be painting the front seats and cards when I'm ready . As for the under side as im working rear to the front , i just need the hand break cables and im ready to fit all the parts . A few pics from today .You can see from the metal trim connector that sits on the floor that its rusty , it just shows that if you get a leak inside the car ,membrane or matrix , whatever the sound deadening sucks it up like a sponge . I will order some more of the closed cell tonight . Hopefully by next week i will have the loom working and all the underlay down .
  2. Just a shame it's taken so long . I was told by the graphic shop , that you can't scan the badge . It was in the van when I picked my daughter up , who studies graphic design . She looked at it and said why not ? . Then AGB sorts it straight away . If you don't want the job just say so !
  3. Nice work as usual Darren . Our conservatory has a passenger seat and rear door card in it ATM . Er in doors hasn't said a word yet . Good as gold really . She Did tell me to push the rear beam further under the spare bed though , she came home from work at 1.30 am , went to climb into bed and stubbed her toe on it ! .
  4. Rog and I talked about this during the week . A massive thanks to you mate , for taking this over . The only thing I need to check is the colour . Now I went online and the answer came back as Tornado red . So I'm presuming that this is correct . I have a G60 badge in my possession which should be the same colour . The only thing to do after that is sorted is Bung AGB a drink , which I will sort out . It's the least I can do seen as Rog has sorted the proccess out for something I started and the time it took to sort the art work size . Rob
  5. Nice one . Maybe I will see you around . Great feeling to get it back on the road .
  6. I also put parts in different places . Tonight I will be looking for the long bolts that go through the rear beam , I know I bought them , but where are they , in the shed , under the spare bed , in the wardrobe , in the eves , who knows ! . SR Neal , I will see if the one I'm connecting up ATM works first . I don't want to sell the spare and relays , to find there's something wrong with the one I have . It's tempting fate . Rob
  7. I didnt have to go out to the car to find out the part no . Ive just found a heated seat loom in the wardrobe . Completely forgot i already had one !
  8. Like most of you i collect parts as and when im doing a project on the car . We also pick up parts that will be useful in the future. But does anyone else store them away and forget you had them ??!! , then double up on the order? I was getting some parts together tonight for my projects I've got on at the moment. Oh i have four sets of wheel bearings , two of this, two of that . Ive got boxes that are sealed that i didnt write on and had no idea what was in them . I have just bought a heated seat loom from Vaghag , what do i find in a box in the wardrobe , yep a heated seat loom , compleat with relays . Obviously this isnt a rant ,more of a jokey thing really. But i must learn to write on boxes , what they contain . No wonder my car costs a fortune to maintain lol.
  9. Evening chaps . Quick question . Im fitting my heated seat loom and just wanted to check i had the relays the right way up . My thinking was, if it was the other way up, it could pull on the plugs , when fitting the rest of the loom in place . Oh and it just looks right . Also i presume the plastic head next to it is where the earth fits . Thanks in advance . Rob
  10. I think a lot of us feel like this Jim . The frustration drives you mad . I guess it goes with owning an old car . Another thing the frustrates me is , you work your nuts off , in my case six days a week , the weekends being cash work , to pay for the bits you need to be replaced . Leaving no time to do the jobs ! . I'm trying to leave my car alone now , till I find the time to do the work I need to do . I'm not squeezing in 10 minuets in here an there anymore . It's just not worth it .
  11. I have sent Matt a text . Hopefully he will take a look on here soon .
  12. I do like a nice bit of crumpet .
  13. Hopefully I will get some time this weekend to find someone to print the vinals off for us . I'm sorry it's taking so long for such a small job . Just been up to my eyes in work recently .
  14. No one on here would sell you the wrong badge , so you can't go wrong . If you find one on eBay , just make sure it states Corrado and not Golf . They a much bigger .
  15. Thanks Sean . Looking forward to getting these jobs done . It's just a time thing really .
  16. Well after the heavy rain , that's been coming down in the last few days , I've had no water coming in to the boot of the car . Also since removing the last of the sound deadening I've had no wetness on the floor pan . I think I'm ready to go with installing the heated seat loom . I'm awating the arrival of my closed cell floor covering . I will install a a quality carpet underlay to go on top of this ,then I can get on with installing the delux set to go into the front and rear foot wells . After that or in the mean time I have a set of working heater controls to fit ,as my directional control has broken . Then it's on to the repairing and painting the seats and door cards . I only need the rear wheel bearings for the under side and I'm ready for the back end refurb too .
  17. Thanks Fla . That's good news as the one I've ordered is closed cell . Rob
