    New Sprinter

It's entirely fair feedback mate and I did expect one or two comments to that effect - I was just really short on content this time around. I did have another article or two in the 'bank' but there's an element of trying to keep stock for future issues as well, rather than just blowing it all on a bumper issue and then having nothing. I'm not sure how many times I can ask for people to send articles to be honest.. I put a comment to the effect, or some kind of steer in the editorial of virtually every magazine I've produced over the last few years - as well as mentions at every AGM, and at every opportunity I get. Of course that's not to say I shouldn't write original content myself - and I have done such as a number of articles on the new Scirocco (the IROC presentation in 2006, reviews of the GT/R/BlueMotion rolled into road trips), and the Stealth Turbo VR6 Corrado - but as you can imagine it's quite difficult coming up with new ideas for an old car, if that makes sense? I have said it many times but if folks have some realistic ideas for features they'd like to see in the magazine, I really am all ears! :) And as stupid as it sounds - feedback, of any kind, is always useful. Positive or negative. It always hurts to receive criticism but I appreciate it if it's constructive and something I can do something about, or build on.
  2. Well at least getting more power out of one of those is no real hardship! Be interested to hear how you get on with it! :)

    Who owns CCGB

Enough of this nonsense. I'm involved in the CCGB and even I get fed up with how often CCGB discussions spill over onto here, and usual descend into squabbling matches. VR6 Lee - if you have any more club related questions you'd like answers to, I'll do my best to answer them or direct them to someone who can answer them. Please just PM me directly. Thanks.
  4. Sorry to hear that Andy - but I totally understand! Hope you'll keep in touch after the car has gone though.
  5. Details are on their website :) http://www.rayneautomotive.co.uk/shop/article_2/Corrado-Uprated-Headlight-Loom.html?sessid=pfn0ApgqftCuxrSo6GBI2jVaHliCiJq1j1eipuCS8AUZAgeNGoNOD1yiA4gBqKVT&shop_param=cid%3D2%26aid%3D2%26

No problem Lee :) Other questions have been answered I think.. forums wise - well, the web master and a few committee members are admins / mods on the forums. Not much more to say than that really.
  7. Spotted two this evening! One was on the back of a trailer - red, in racing car livery, just as I turned off the M1 for the M69 at about 7pm'ish.. and then a black Corrado parked on Earlsdon high street in Coventry at about 8pm.

    Who owns CCGB

Nope - not sure where the thread came from, or where the direction of conversation is going! :) Our membership level is pretty normal (and from what we've found very good compared to most 'single model' clubs) and things are going ok. I'm just trying to answer the OP's questions.
  9. This is exciting news! Would be a nice transplant for a Corrado! :) Did they ever make a 3.0 VR6 - in either 12v or 24v guise?! I know there was 2.8, 2.9 and then thought they went 24v and onto 3.2 and 3.6?

I'm honestly not sure what would happen with any surplus in the event the club were to fold. I guess we'd take a vote on it, and go from there. Either donating the entire lot to charity, or refunding members. The money certainly would not go to the committee. Just to be clear, committee members don't get any money from working in the club - only refunds for expenses occurred (e.g. posting items on club business, purchasing merchandise or equipment purchased for shows like banners, gazebo's). This sort of information is all documented in the expenses.
  11. Well as most people are willing to stump up a few extra quid, we should be in business - but we really could do with more people to be safe. Payments I take up front, yes, for exactly the reason you say. But will of course accept people paying on the day if they decide to turn up.
  12. What would peoples feelings be about paying a little more to offset the missing people? By my calculations another £5 per person (taking it up to £30 each) would fill in the blanks for 5 missing people to take the total amount of cash up to the same as if 20 people had come.

    Who owns CCGB

No-one owns it as such. We have a committee elected by our membership. Most senior position is the chairman, Paul Kippax - aka KIPVW on here. I may be able to help with any questions you may have though?
  14. Chaps - have spoken to Vince this evening and basically we need to crack 20 before this can happen. Can you please ask any car friends you have outside of the forum, who might be up for this, if they'd be interested. If we don't get 20 folks, there will be no rolling road day :( Cheers.

    bonnet cable CLIP now!

Also worth mentioning as this has become a bonnet cable parts discussion that the little grub screw mentioned on the first page that secures the cable into the last 'trumpet' is available individually from VW still - I know cause I bought one last week :)
  16. Yep - ditto for photobucket or similar. I tend to use imageshack (http://imageshack.us) for sticking my pictures on - dead easy - you just browse to your pics, upload them (and it asks if you want them resizing) then it spits out the code you need to use for putting on a forum post to embed the images :)
  17. It's a little hard to take an article like that with any shred of impartiality though, given that it's on a website billed as "Your Gateway to the Oil and Gas Industry", and with sub-titles in the article like "Water Conservationists Line Up Against Fracking Companies" :|
  18. Sorry to hear that Fay - hope you get the car sorted soon. I'll remove you off the list.
  19. If you can be bothered, you will make more money breaking it for parts I suspect. As much as I hate to suggest that for a Storm! :(

    blower probelms

It's probably the resistor pack on the fan motor.. I'd try and get one of those second hand off someone on the forum and try that first. Pretty easy to get to it and swap it out so an easy check.
  21. They really are a must have for the VR6 - really nice little bump to the power, but also a real improvement to all round drivability when combined with a remap - makes the VR feel much more grunty lower down the rev band!
