  1. Not sure about ignition switch in this case. Normally the car won't turn over if the switch is duff - simply nothing happens when you turn the key. Can you smell fuel whilst you're turning it over? Makes me wonder if there is a fuel supply issue..
  2. Yep.. took me about two hours to get that damn screw out. Good luck!
  3. I'm not sure whether that'd clear VR6 engine though... but I guess Mike would be ok with a G60.
  4. Rear strut brace is easy.. the trimsport one is very good. Front not so easy as almost all the manufacturers out there are US or German based and of course make the braces for LHD cars - which simply don't fit UK cars as bits in the engine bay are in the wrong place :(
  5. I certainly have heard that before but I'm really not sure whether it's true. The "sensor" is just two metal prongs that go into the water.. I presume all they do is throw a small electrical charge into the water to complete a circuit and, when the water level is too low, the circuit is no longer complete and the light comes on.. It could be that, if it's the original bottle, the sensor is so encrusted with crap, it might no longer be working properly. Worth getting it off the car (relatively easy) to have a look and possibly clean it out?
  6. Clearly you forgot Eric.. car shows these days don't actually sell any CAR parts. If you want some t-shirts, coffee, sweets, air freshners, and other such unrelated tat you're in business. Forget about bits for cars though!
  7. Beautiful. REALLY would like to own something like this one day. Be interested to hear how you get on with it from a maintenance costs point of view!
  8. Sounds like rsgntx... ? --> http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?48781-New-Home-new-ideas-DG-Supercharged
  9. Interesting progress as ever Kev.. can't wait to see this progress :)
  10. Mine says I've got 1,234 unread messages.. but I don't! :)
  11. Get it on PistonHeads if you haven't had any interest yet mate.. I reckon you'll get a few calls then!
  12. Roddy - can you PM me the email address you need / want to use and I'll see what I can do..
  13. I also tried this with the DVLA, using the Freedom of Information act. I filled out all relevant paperwork and was written back to telling me that they did not have to comply with an FOI request if it was financially unviable for them to find the information - and that was it would take more than half a day to get the data I wanted, they were not going to do it. I should have followed it up. As someone who works with databases I know all it would have taken, assuming their systems are all well structured and not some horrendous mess, a few SQL queries to get the information I needed. Tossers!
  14. Don't be fooled by the mild mannered Wendy.. it'd never be the same again!
  15. Very nice and sounds like a bargain for the money. It's stunning what sorts of cars you can buy for the £5k mark these days...

  17. Umm... possibly. No idea to be honest!
  18. You should, yes - it's a crush washer.
  19. The oil drain plug is on the rear of the sump anyway so if anything it'll help get all the old oil out being angled back slightly! But you probably want it level for when you fill it. So jack it up, drain it, refit the bolt & washer and lower it back down again before refilling. Then keep an eye underneath to make sure it's not leaking :)
  20. I'll follow this one with interest.. as Gareth says, you certainly have a clear plan on what's going on here so I presume progress will be pretty brisk! :) Keep us posted!
  21. It does look like a Storm badge on the surround.. sure I can pick out a hint of red in there! I think! :)
  22. Cool - so we should see some big updates coming soon then. Fingers crossed it all works this time mate! I can't wait to see it and passenger in it when it's all working :)
  23. I know it's not a fix but it is at least a workaround.
  24. Jim

Precisely what I thought when I saw them mate!
  25. This is a nearly 8 year old thread! Not sure why it's been bumped. Please PM me if you have any Sprinter related questions! :) Locking.
