Hm.. that does seem optimistic but always good to see these kinds of prices!
-
Yeah - VW over here don't deal with Classic Parts I don't believe, which is why VW Heritage have managed to fill that niche.
-
That is extremely concerning.. though it may be obsolete from VW, 3rd party companies that make them for VW such as Mann may still make them?

Was the Corrado meant to be the Mk2 Scirocco
Jim replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in General Car Chat
The Corrado was always intended to be the MK3 Scirocco however. It was just that development costs (and therefore the retail price for the car) spiralled beyond what was originally projected, and they quickly realised that they couldn't simply release it as the new version of the Scirocco with a significantly higher price than the outgoing model. So they ended up having to market it as a new model, and keep the MK2 Scirocco going a little bit longer. -
Black hole glaze works great on Classic Green :)

I'm sure they will get back to you, but you're better off picking up the phone honestly. I'm also curious to know why you're choosing not to use VW coolant, and using some stuff from Halfords instead? The VW G13++ (or whatever we're up to these days) works extremely well.

Always nice to get that kind of feedback on this community, and sorry to hear you're putting the car up for sale and moving on. Hopefully you find your way back into a Corrado again in the future and hopefully we're still here :)

That's daves16v's car. Have a look at his members gallery thread to get some idea of how much TLC has gone into that car! -
Corrado in Classic and Performance Car top 10 appreciating 90s classics
Jim replied to Portent's topic in General Car Chat
Some impressive company to be amongst there as well... nice find! Have to say I was looking at Corrado's on Autotrader & eBay the other day out of mild interest... there wasn't much around for under 2k! -
What happens when you actually select the intermittent wipe function? Nothing?

B4 should be perfectly suitable for that application. Just don't consider them if you ever plan to use lowering springs, as they are not suitable.

Reliability - 2.0 16 vs VR6? Anyone using a VR6 daily? Anyone want a valver?
Jim replied to MZpog's topic in General Car Chat
Will say the VR is great in winter as the heating systems comes up to temperature quite quickly - so you get warm air out of the blowers in no time! -

Jim replied to MZpog's topic in General Car Chat
Having run both as a daily, to be honest they were pretty equal, but the VR is definitely a nicer daily driver just because of the gruntier motor and longer gearing. Not sure I'd want to go back to using mine every day now. I'd have no hesitation jumping in it now and doing a long drive, but just don't think it's the kind of car to put through the daily grind any more. I know plenty of people who do though and love it. -
Even if you do, so long as you keep turning them, they should unwind the threaded bolt from the back of the heater box anyway allowing you to remove it then work out how to get the nut / bolt combo out of the firewall! Don't do like I did and saw the heater box out of the car, and have to buy another heater box!

Welcome aboard :)

Same colour as mine, but yours looks a million times cleaner / less scratched / less rusty!! Speedlines look mint too. Very nice indeed :)

Not entirely a surprise I wouldn't think. Ultimately the timing chains is a big job and Wheeler Dealers has always been more about fixing the stuff that needed fixing to get it roadworthy again, rather than a full top to bottom restoration (except for some special exceptions). Not sure a Corrado really warrants a total overhaul really so no surprise that the chains were overlooked. Would have been a good job to demonstrate but hopefully the tensioners and chains are in good shape on this one.

Best lock this up then!

Unfortunately won't available to watch online (legally) as it's a series shown on Discovery.

I will also follow up my previous comment by saying if I can do a heater matrix replacement, ANYONE can do a heater matrix replacement. I'm perpetually terrified about working on my own car, and the matrix job basically was done out of necessity rather than wanting to do it as at the time it was my only car and winter was fast approaching. I can't overstate the level of satisfaction when I put it all back together again and it looked like a car, everything worked, and the first time I put the heater on! :) It's not a hard job. Just take your time finding all the little hidden screws. Ask on here if you run into problems :)
-
I've done it myself and took the dash out. I know a friend of mine has managed to do it dash in. So. It's really up to you :) Advantage to leaving the dash in is that you won't have to worry about rerouting the wiring again once you come to put it all back together which is a big plus.

All the Corrado's I've ever had, I've only broken down twice needing to call out the AA. The first time was after driving through a ford. I never found out exactly what happened but.. it wasn't crazy deep (I'd seen a few other cars go through) so I ventured in and kept at a steady speed. Booted it up the hill once I was out and the car hiccupped a bit but was fine then. About 5 minutes down the road began to get lumpy and then just wouldn't run. Uh oh. AA guy spent some time looking at the problem, and ultimately towed me home. In the end I'd assumed some water had got into the fuel system somehow and after a tankful of fuel additive that somehow is supposed to fix that, the car would eventually run a bit, and then run a bit smoother, and a bit more and then eventually was fixed. Never worked out for certain what happened though!

Ah - I was sure I'd read they were obsolete. I'll look into new ones I think! :)

Are the rear brake disk shields present and in good condition, suitable for powder coating or similar?

Price is only showing up as £1.00? I'm guessing you want more than that for them, so you may want to double check your listing :)
