A split breather hose of some kind? When giving the car stick it'll expand the pipe because of the extra heat, opening the split and making the car behave a little erratically? Just a thought... I really am not too hot at this mechanical stuff. You wouldn't go far wrong to pay a visit to Stealth if this continues to be a problem tho :)

Well a lot of people just get a front end respray... bonnet, bumper, and wings.. Saves a fortune and pretty much does the job as thats where 90% of the stonechips are gonna be. And as for SUV's.. dont get me started
-
Interesting idea.. i'd be interested to see how this goes. I also edited your post / fixed the link for you :)
-
Stonechips seem to be a real problem on C's in the USA.. there was another member here with a really nice C that had suffered heavily from the same problem. Still looks really nice and welcome to the wonderful (if a little expensive) world of Corrado ownership :)
-
Agreed.. heard nothing but good things about Autoglym leather care products. I use a few of their other products and they really are very good.. their artificial chamois / drying cloth is amazing!
-
Hehe... i'll make myself a 'Rawhide owes me a beer' voucher and hang onto it :) Ace cafe is a bit far for me.. hehe.
-
Got it... its 1 5 3 6 2 4.. thats where you went wrong :) And I have confirmed that by checked a number of different sites.. they all say the same firing order :)
-
Well I dont know the order from past experience, but I am hunting on the net for you right now...
-
Welcome to the forum :) Your Corrado looks really good. Though those look like the same alloys as the 'Campaign' VR6's had...? :)
-
Wow.. welcome to the forum Oichan! Have seen your awesome Corrado before on the net so its a real surprise to actually see you on a forum. Welcome :)

CaiosG60 PWR.. thanks :D Figured I couldn't really keep that picture of a car that I didn't own up there for much longer. Spotted this one on another forum and thought it was suitably pinchable :D

Indeed.. I bought some Hella ones from GSF.. as far as I know, they seemed to be ok and they cost peanuts. Though its worth mentioning that there was no way of getting the Ignition Reference Sensor attached to these leads.. its a sensor used to help the ECU detect knock. I believe it was a 2 litre/16v only thing though shouldn't matter too much with the VR.

Oooh... nifty photochop :) I just read over this and thought there was something missing out of the picture :D Oh.. and 1000th post finally.. yay ;)
-
Indeed... isn't that where all of those horrible swirls come from on car paint?
-
Cool.. wouldn't mind seeing your C in a little more detail because it certainly does look a bit nice :)
-
Now thats a deal waiting to be sealed if ever I heard it :D

Hm.. i'd personally be calling up a local VW specialist, and getting them to give the car a once over or a checkover on a rolling road. If you have any doubts, that will identify flat spots in the rev range and help identify any potential problems.. But could turn out positive.... Had my ex-16v RR'd at a CCGB day up at Stealth Racing early last year some time - came back at a healthy 144BHP, even though I was certain there must be something not right :)

An aftermarket filter element does make a small difference.. induction noise is much more noticable (though nothing like a VR induction noise) and it does make the car feel a little free'er revving :) Definately better than the OEM paper filters!!

Good call... this is starting to drive me nuts :|

This 'ere be made a sticky :) Post here or PM Amit if you are interested... sounds like a good deal to me :)

I think it is to reduce the power drawn. Basically if you close/open both windows at once you are pulling a whole shed load of current through the relay which would make it (and the wiring) have to be heavier duty, heavier in general, and (most likely reason) more expensive!  Dunno if this is the real reason, but it wouldn't suprise me with VW, over-engineer some bits and then skimp on really rather random other bits... :? Yep.. some wonderful toys on the Corrado, but why the heck did they forget to include a 'lights on buzzer' when you get out of the car. That caught me out about three times in one year, resulting in flat batteries and jumpstarts :(
-
Well yeah.. I should have mentioned that it can be made part of the alarm on the C because as you say, full closure is a Corrado 'feature' anyway. On my car its not though.. hehe.
-
No problem ;)

Ah the G60 / VR6 debate... Essentially.. the Corrado is pretty much the same alround in its various incarnations, except the engines. And I am quoting USA stats here... G60 = 1.8 litre 8v with a supercharger... 150/160'ish BHP VR6 = 2.8 litre 12v (?) narrow angle V6... 180'ish BHP G60 is good if you want a car you can tune, tweak, and get good amounts of power from relatively small amounts of cash. But keep an eye on the supercharger.. have it stripped and rebuilt by a specialist every 40,000 miles to keep it in good condition. VR6 is good if you want a nice powerful cruiser which can be chucked around like the G60.. but its slightly heavier because of its bigger engine and is much harder to get good power gains from without spending a bit of cash. I'd personally be putting my money on the VR6. Thats not because I dislike the G60.. far from it, I like all C's equally for different reasons.. but if I really had to pick it would be the VR :)
