Have just taken the liberty of extracting the segment from the episode.. uploading it as we speak.
  3. Chaps - if you're having issues with Panjo please detail the exact problems and put a post up in Site Comments & Questions. The only person with any power over Panjo is Andi. Cheers.
  4. Very nice - you just can't beat Flash Red after a good detail / polish like that. It looks amazing!
  5. I would imagine it's not likely to be the fuel pump.. I figure that would either work, or wouldn't. The aftermarket immobiliser is a possibility I would think. Is there any pattern to the behaviour? Can it happen with the car stone cold (like first time you use it on a morning) or does it happen after the car has been used / is warm / is partly warmed up?
  6. Would love to see more on that SD1. The little video on YouTube only leaves you wanting more. There's some good videos on Jay Leno's Garage YouTube channel though - he's got a Bentley with a Merlin engine :)
  7. This was Lynbrook Insurance mate - but it's worth pointing that out as I'm sure Lancaster aren't alone in this kind of practice!
  8. I got my policy for about 170 quid with all mods declared. I'm 34, no points / claims / etc, 3000 miles a year, and the car kept garaged. HOWEVER. I think they might have made a cock up on the quote regarding the mods, which they've had to take on the chin financially as when my original paperwork came through, it said 'Modifications: NONE' even though I had declared them all. I rang up, they said "No, it's fine.. they're all here on the system" then a few days later I got a second insurance paperwork pack through with the modifications actually listed ;) My suspicion is they calculated the quote with no modifications, and then when I rang up to query it realised their mistake but couldn't actually increase the price as it was their screw up? But it's certainly worth giving them a try anyway.
  9. The logic behind panjo was so that the first person to actually want to buy an item would just go into the thread, and buy it. Previously there were regular arguments about people saying they asked to buy the item first, then someone else gazumped them via PM or some other method and it caused regular fallouts. The idea with this was to stop that crap.
  10. Frankly I have no idea on Panjo. I've never actually bought anything on it!!
  11. Yeah that underlay is a ridiculous sponge. And when the water has soaked in there a while, it can easily end up smelling like a rancid swamp. Have often debated ripping it up and replacing it with Dynamat..
  12. You hit the button to buy it. So you got it as far as I'm concerned.
  13. Would rather folks bump old threads that are relevant to their topics, than make new ones.. so welcome to the forum :) That's the cover that sits in the scuttle tray, that covers the air intake for the heater motor. If you're getting wet carpets in the back of the car, I'd reckon it's probably not that to blame but always worth checking. A new gasket for the underside of it (sticky back foam) is still available from VW for not too much money, and the area is often stuff full of leaves and crap too so well worth getting in their and cleaning it out and putting a new gasket on. However I think if you're getting wet carpets in the rear, it's probably (at a guess) going to be the plastic door membrane under the door cars affixed to the doors not being sealed properly the whole way round.
  14. I'm with you, robrado974. The inconsistencies and vagaries about what makes up an insurance premium irritate me beyond the capacity to remain rational about it. But if your car is not a daily and is garaged or kept on a drive, etc then I found a good price from these guys this year: http://www.lynbrookins.co.uk In fact they were almost half the price of some of the other 'specialists' I rang around, and that even includes full european breakdown too.
  15. Holy crap that looks awesome. This is a great build thread :)
  16. That is f@cking INCREDIBLE. What a sound, and what a spectacle. My god!! Can you imagine being sat at traffic lights in that thing, the engine thundering away, flames flying out the side of the exhaust..
  17. No criticisms from me here at all. It's clear you're putting a lot of time and effort into getting this right and it'll be appreciated by a lot of folks on here. Keep at it :)
  18. There's not many places left now but one of the best is JMR / John Mitchell Racing.. http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk As I understand it, the toothed belt is replaced and all the seals within the charger. Unsure about bearings, etc. Worth having a look at the info page that explains prices, etc here: http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk/services/glader-servicing/ I've never had a charger rebuilt with John but have dealt with him in the past and he's a real gent so would have no hesitation in recommending him. Cheers.
  19. I believe you can get very good fabric spray dyes which I'm sure would do the headlining just fine.. but interested to know how you're actually doing it (including the switch gear, etc).
  20. As registration is over on the CCGB site, I guess just turn up I suppose!
  21. I think the other problem you've got is, no matter how much you've thrown into it so far, if there's any major / big problems with the car as it stands, people won't bite on a sale unless you virtually give it away. So I think at this point you need to fix it up to even sell it, at which point you might as well just keep it.
  22. You're in Stratford upon Avon. Which isn't very far away from Stealth Racing who are well trusted VW specialists who know the Corrado and the VR6 inside out. As has been said, the aux belt alone is a piddle easy job (15 minutes max), the rocker gasket a bit more involved but no big deal. Head gasket is of course a bit more difficult but it might be worth getting a second opinion on it as a VW dealer themselves will have zero interest in helping you keep your old Corrado on the road. It really depends on, as VAG-hag says, if you love the car enough to keep it and spend some money on sorting it out - or whether you'd just rather dump it and move on. Of course, we all vote that you fix it and keep running it :)
  23. Don't worry - I'm keeping an extremely close eye.
  24. A set of Speedlines would help that massively.

He posts more than enough. Don't think we need another thread for him to post on! Cheers.
