  1. Coincidentally after reading and responding to this thread, saw a Corrado I've never seen before being driven by an older lady not 5 minutes from my house. I've honestly not seen another Corrado in MONTHS prior to this.
  2. To be fair, you really don't see them on the roads very often any more! I should imagine they're even rarer over in the US despite the fact they sold more, just because of the size of the country.
  3. I still think, given that neither of those cars are your 'average' Corrado's, you might be making a decision you come to regret massively. But I wish you the best all the same :) Might be worth getting in touch with 4 Star Classics - I know someone selling a car with them at the minute. They might be a good place to represent both of your lovely Corrado's.
  4. Yeah should be able to - I don't think Corrado's are especially difficult for professionals to get into unfortunately :)
  5. Bummer :( You might have to call out breakdown to 'break into' your car :(
  6. Later cars have full closure built into the door locks - so if you turn your key to the lock position, it winds up the windows. I'm trying to think if it works the other way - so if you turn it to the unlock position, whether the windows will drop? Worth giving it a go I suppose!
  7. Thanks for the kind words! And shame to see a local Corrado owner go - don't think I ever saw you or your car in the time you owned it even though you only live round the corner! :)
  8. Interesting... :) Suspension is on the shopping list whenever I get the Corrado back on the road again. One to bear in mind.
  9. 1. It's a nice car to drive. Gearing is quite long, and whilst it's not FAST in low revs it's grunty enough that you don't need to be up and down the gears all the time - the benefit of a reasonably large engine! 2. They're pretty good but as you say - they're 20 years old. Just find one that's been looked after - don't buy the cheapest one you can find with no service history, and then be disappointed when it breaks all the time! 3. Can definitely get over 30MPG on a cruise (35MPG easy) and mid to low 20's around town I'd say. Overall given the age, and size of the engine, it's pretty damn respectable. 4. It can. Just expect to need to keep on top of maintenance as and when it occurs! 5. Naturally ;)
  10. Yeah - I mean I appreciate it'll be the optimal setup from a handling point of view. Just talking purely on looks.. just feels like it needs to be a fraction lower! :)
  11. The B12 kit really does sound like the best all round package for the Corrado but my only wish with it, was that it lowered the car a fraction more!

    DG Autotech

Graham is fine - he's on holiday at the moment. He has indeed started work outside of DG Autotech so that's become a part time concern.. so not sure why the phone is dead entirely, unless he has indeed shut down the business - but that certainly wasn't the case when I last spoke to him in November.
  13. Welcome to the forum! Interesting alloys - look not unlike the Estoril wheel which came as standard on the 2.0 16v :)
  14. I think it's my favourite Corrado colour :) Looks so good!
  15. If you get a few minutes, check out the modifications that Matt Farah has done (runs The Smoking Tyre, puts videos on YouTube) with their project Fiesta ST. He's getting ridiculous power out of their car using all standard internals, turbo, etc.. http://www.thesmokingtire.com/2014/video-project-fiesta-st-gets-100-octane-pro-tune-review-dyno/
  16. It's honestly superb. One of the best cars I've ever owned. The ride is HARD no doubt about it, but the trade off is that on twisty roads it's just so sharp :) And performance wise, I think it would fairly easily show a VR6 a clean pair of heels. Crazy really for a 'warm hatch' aimed at a younger market than myself! Keep thinking about the MP215 upgrade which is a factory approved remap to give another 35BHP and extra slug of torque..
  17. Fingers crossed there's room at the end of the day to stick my Fiesta ST on :) Be a good chance to take some abuse from Vince & Jon too of course ;)
  18. I don't live mega miles away so would always be up for some sort of meet. I do reckon it might be worth waiting till we get some milder weather though - it's no fun hanging around in a car park as you're primarily there to see the cars, etc when it's freezing! :) Certainly appreciate the effort that was put into trying to organise this though and will definitely try my best to be at any future meets in this area!
  19. Does that mean there's only going to be like a guaranteed 4 of us, and maybe a couple more? Just.. wondering is it worth waiting till more folks can actually commit?
  20. In all fairness I've owned Corrado's on and off for 13 years and last year was the first time I've ever had a heater matrix go on me. They're a common problem in that they fail, but they should (generally) be something you fit and forget - as in most cases the matrix's blowing now are probably the originals fitted to cars that rolled out of the factory 20 years ago!
  21. Get some Quantum Silver from your local VW or TPS. It's not very expensive and is perfect for a 1.8 16v motor :)
  22. Definitely coming though don't think I will be eating.. Carrying on from there to visit my folks for a Sunday dinner!
  23. OK - uploaded a mirror finally. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=45452&page=8
  24. Uploaded a mirror of this article with most of the pictures (thanks to g0ldf1ng3r): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1fJDWZF2UmycWtiY1A5UHNhbE0/view?usp=sharing Cheers.
