i'll just leave it with jim so he can scan it in when he has time, i'm just a bit crazy with moving house to think about posting mags at the mo, so you will get to read it :D bc student- would be a shame if it's been written off but it does happen, i'm prietty sure my first vr k330 fec has been written off but i can't be sure.
-
kev- i got mine from ebay as i'm prietty sure they've totally sold out of this issue, it was john barker who put it forward and yeah it is a good atricle. i have been keeping an eye on ebay for ages for one to come up and finally this one did..... jim what i'll do is just bring it down to stealth, so i'm afraid Dr Forinor you will just have to wait till then buddy.....
-
jim - it's not in this months, it's from january 2000 issue but would be happy to lend it to you so you can read/scan it if people wanted to have a read.....

i've just got my hands on the 15th issue of evo with there buying guide on the VR6 :D makes a good read and they only have very good things to say about the car. "i wouldn't share this information with just anbody, You're smart enough to buy evo so you can be trusted. The rest of this buying guide is just a smoke screen to deflect interest away from the corrado". they include a TVR S3, Clio Williams and Porsche 944 Turbo, the porker beets it to the winning posts but only from what i can see is because of the extra 50 horses it packs to be honest. The VR they use for the photo's is silver with the reg. L183 RWV anyones on here :?:

F40 all the way for me, saw one coming out of london the other weekend and he came of the roundabout flat out and went past me so quick  you can't beat an F40 for a proper drivers car.

would love to see that.... someone out there must have it.... can't we get in contact with the bbc archives or something..... -
stevemac... 18-20 mpg thats good going :D for my 160 mile round trip to work it has'nt cost me more than 20 quid and that is'nt being too generous.... just ask the jag driver who got a licking... but he deffinately asked for it  your right tho my style has changed i find myself looking in the rear view mirror a lot more........

mine has a stage 4 jmr rebuild but.... when i had my chip and pulley done with darren he had a nightmare getting the oe pulley off  which should'nt happen!!! and once it was off there was deffinately a small leak from around the seal behind the pulley nothing to really worry about but will still need attention sooner rather than later and that was 7 thoudand miles from rebuild...
-
so took my car down to darren on monday and had the chip and pulley done :D  :D what a really nice guy and what a different car to drive, i really liked it as it was before, but now i just can't stop smilling, why did'nt they leave vw like it !!!! anyway really happy and am looking forward to stealth on the 27th :D
-
almost had this problem too, but luckily i suggested we just give the the car a little lift and they went straight on :D i had to lift it up tho which was a bit of a task...
-
i've just been out and had another look at mine and the only way i reckon i could it is to fit one in the vents just above the splitter but it would deffinately need some kind of guard or mesh to stop anything flying up and straight through the cooler, Henny- is yours with a standard bumper :?: if it's ok with you might have a look at yours on the 27th, as i'm making a visit to to darren on monday and if all goes well will have the chip and pulley done, so would like to get this little mod done to keep the oil temp down as much as i can...... :D
-
the analog one on the left of your fuel gauge is water temp, digital one of the mfa is oil temp.....
-
mine never goes over 114 on the motorway, my mocal is fitted right next to the rad.... has anyone fitted a way of feeding it cold air. or this not really needed, i just replaced my rad and on each side there are black plastic sides that bolt on to the side of the rad to direct ithencoming air straight onto the rad what about removing the left hand side one or something, basically wondered if i got more air moving around the mocal would it reduce the oil temps even more :?:
-
cheers, think i am gonna have to invest in a boost guage, i just don't want one that goes on top of the dash or the pillar by the windscreen :!: Blue joe- well just got off the phone to darren and it's booked in for monday as long as everything is the way it should be.... so if it does'nt happen will deffo keep you in mind, looking forward to seeing your car at stealth on the 27th by the way, and cheers.

no it is deffinately a storm. the advert is out of the August 2000 edition and basically within the advert this particular vr came with vw motorsport VRS inlet and had a AMD throttle body, back then it was pushing 209 bhp and 232lb ft, just wondered if the current owner was on here and might want the mag to put with the history, or is it just me who likes to collect things like that  oh and it was going for a lot more money, compared to todays prices....
-
Looking through an old evo mag and came accross the old prestige cars for sale section and amongst it is an advert for a VR storm with above reg and an interesting spec list that might interest the owner.... hope i have'nt offended the owner in anyway.
