i am thinking of having my G60 chipped and pulleyed with darren, but just wondered if it makes a huge difference to the overall mpg, mainly on the motorway really, anyone had one before and after, cheers josh :D

ah that will explain it then, well in the end i got one from e38 so it worked out well cheers tho stevemac that was buggin me for ages.... what pricee do you get them in for then....

done :D :D put in the lower temp thermo switch, and what a difference, have'nt seen higher than 95 yet, and so nice not to have a really bad vibrating 2nd speed fan too.... henny cheers for that tip of filling through the top hose, worked a treat.....

well i would just like to say i spoke to exturbo2003 yesterday and he sorted me out with a great deal, really nice of him i reckon as there is nothing in it for him :shock: which in this day an age is rare anyway cheers buddy and i'll get you that beer if you make it up on the 27th. :D

maaaaaaan that is a hard one, i can totally see why you like the mk4 and why would'nt you nice motor un-suspecting (to the law) and touch wood reliable, but if you got those little problems sorted and had the finished project sat in front off you your right you probably would fall in love all over again. if it was me i would probably have no idea what to do but then i drive a g60 as am every day car and love it, so what sensible opinion can i possibly offer :lol:

works for me... it really annoys me when you get to the accident and the only reason we are doing 25mph is cos everyone wants to have a good look, i'm not saying we should all be doin 80 but if the wreckage is on the hard shoulder then 50 is acceptable..... and keeps the congestion down...

don't forget it's not just the tracking but camber too... and if yours is a vr i would reccomend you use oe vag top mounts as opposed to gsf as they cope with the extra vr lump ..... trust me i've done this on two vr's.

so gonna do this job tommorrow, can anyone give any tips on filling the system back up, i've different ideas about how to do it becuse obviously it needs to be pressurised, but when i did this on my mk2 16v i just put the heater on hot left the cap off and topped it up as the air was forced out, surely this will be fine for the G60 too :?:

fk coilovers on the original 15's 195/50/15 front is 56.5 cm and rears are 58.5 (thats with a quarter tank of gas) and it has the 50mm splitter to make life easy.

so even the k&n panel filter is'nt recommended :?: are the oem filters from gsf any different from the ones vag supply :?:

cheers buddy from what i have read today it's case of just make sure everything works electicaly, obviously check the box, and watch for the head gasket especially towards the front of the engine, to be honest i reckon it's a rac or aa inspection job, just to be sure, thanks for you info tho....

ok so got the top mounts done yestarday, to cure a creaky noise from what seemed to be the drivers side top mount, turned out they needed doing but still have this really anoying sort of creak/squeek when i pull away, it's only when i pull away but it has new wishbones, coilovers, wishbones, arb droplinks, new bushes anyone got any ideas cos it's one of those things thats drivin me crazy....

check the master cylinder it will still work but just get worse and worse not overly exspensive.... i take it you still stop but just gets quite spongy and the the pedal travels further the longer you brake ?

does anyone know what to look out for on a 1988 convertable Merc 300 SL, it's an auto with f/s/h (not sure yet if thats all merc) and it's done 65'000, my mums been after one for years and is on my case to find out what she should look out for as it looks like she has found the one she wants :D

in my valver i used to use the redline quite a lot for obvious reasons but in my vr and now my G60 i hardly ever see the redline to be honest, it's only on special occasions :D when i may touch it. otherwise 95% of the time 5k tops.....

H8RRA- i like your style, i've been on the isle of wight for a year now and believe it or not there are quite a few mk v gti's and not one i have seen has ever looked like it's in a hurry, there's plenty of mk 4 that have a go :D tho, there always good for a laugh..... quite a few mk 2's too...

as the title whats the reccomended amount as gonna swap out the rad in the next couple days and would like an idea of how much i can exspect to put in as not to over do it with the g12............
