    K&N Confusion

yeah keep your money and stick with a paper filter....it wont go any faster with a k&n
  10. you say about the o2 sensor...i think im right in saying it will be running of the chip at wot so that would eliminate it?
  11. kongo , didnt you once tell me that your old car had a differant gearbox in it? that might have been the reason it would hit 7k in 4th gear not sure 7k is a good idea anyway....the power has dropped off on mine before then
  12. mine ran like poop from cold..it was the sns chip, i had to go back and get psd to remove some fueling from low down
  13. riley the proper way to do the timing is to use the flywheel mark , ive found when doing the cam belt or ign timing that the flywheel and pulleys dont always match exactly ...its worth the extra hassle to make sure its right imo
  14. use the flywheel, hasnt the crank end got a rubber damper built into it?
  15. step 3 do a search for jabba and the quality of their rebuilds
  16. gsf also sell em if you get stuck
  17. looking good karl ...be good to see it when its done
  18. so all you did was spray wd40 on them?? chances are it will wear off soon did you just get one pulley? theres 2 on the car
  19. not sure why youd want to replace them with cambelt tensioners ? try gsf for a price...£20 dont sound too bad from memory you prise a small cap off to reveal the 6mm hex key bolt...if youre still stuck let me know and i'll go inspect mine its sat outside
  20. dont think vag sell the bushes ...forum member h100vw used to supply nylon ones , but he's gone off to live down under lol
  21. proper service with genuine spec parts and then a set up by a skilled person should see things ok i see a shocking amount of garages that have no understanding of how j kets works and how to trouble shoot /tune/fix it make sure the tyres are pumped up hard and the brakes dont bind( try pushing the car on flat ground)
  22. take it back and moan. could be sticky cable, sticky tb switch...maybe the c/o is going out of ajustment
  23. WHAT DID VW SAY? sounds like a basic set up prob, maybe idle switch on the tb
