  1. the gearstick is tight ..ive taken everything apart that i can and checked/replaced greased as req as for how notchy...like you said , i can feel things happening when i change gear , it doesnt slip into gear that nicley , i feel sometimes i have to force it its usable , but im picky and want it better...put it this way the g/f grumbles about it and misses gears and im sure average joe would comment on the gearchange not being normal
  2. hmmmm, sounds like i need some vr bits
  3. my laptop cant use etka... how notchy are we talking here?? i dunno if im too fussy sometimes, its prob all the time i spent working on vauxhalls lol and yeah..i have got the weight on it
  4. yeah its all greased up etc....im sure the box has its fair share of wear , but id like to get it as nice as possible i was thinking maybe a 2nd hand selector thingy ? if theyre easy fit
  5. ive never been that pleased with my cable gearchange, ive put redline mt90 in it, and ive gone trough the gearstick and linkage bit to check for wear/play and its all good the change is fairly notchy..and if i do get it close to right it seems to go out often  so...can the bit on top of the box be changed ..is likley to be worn ..easy job?? or has anyone got the ajustment tool they can lend me any advise welcome

    Hello

just a note on g60's....if you see a rebuild reciept from jabbasport, dont trust the charger as a few of us have had probs with under 10k miles on them g werks and pitstop both come on here and can take of any charger work you need
  10. the earth wires on my g60 were looking tatty so i decided to cut the ends of and re-do them at the time i thought it made sense to run em to the earth point behind the batt instead of the head is that okay..or do they need to be on the head??
  11. yeah just yank out the old dizzy...it may take quite a tug...and refit the new one making sure you try put it in the same spot then give her a whizz on the timing light
  12. did this fault happen overnight for no reason or after you'd fiddled with something?? i bet its something daft
  13. i paid about £175 for the widband kit......you could always sell it on once your done
  14. i bet its bigger bore too.....big bore tend to offer more top end power..smaller bore help torque low down ebay it and get a vag one or supersprint
  15. the standard vw system has hundreds of hours put into it to tune it to that car and engine...the longlife version is just a few universal silencers made to fit onto you car i think your going to need to live with it really...alot of "perforamnce" exhausts pop on over run..the loss of torque is due to poor design compared to the vw system
  16. i asked this a while back....one guy said he swapped his old on , they just pull off and tap onto the new inj another guy said he had never had em on his maybe try it without...see how it goes
  17. im sure whoever sold you the chip would provide another one to try...have you asked them?
  18. yeah i havent felt right sinse i just didnt feel confident enough ,considering the replacement cost if it goes wrong :(
  19. yeah g man it was me......only joking about jabba its on its way mate be there thurs something i gota ask about the "coating" theyve used...there seems to be alot of baked black bits coming out where i started to clean it...doesnt look nice little hard bits cant be good for it....u seen that before g man?? ive always ran clean synta oil at 4k changes olly...im letting darren sort it , the bearings look harder to change than i thought, and i lost my job the other week so i cant afford to balls up a charger..at least i know whats going on in ther now, id probably do oil seals and apex strips if i needed to
  20. sod it....ive parceled it up and send it back to jabba
  21. thing is gav....i was just looking at it...theres hardly any gap under it to get anything under there
  22. just looking at cheapys on ebay....no way im buying snap on
  23. only joking bout the passat :) i dont have a slide hammer as it happens ...sure i'll think of something i think whatever they greased it with wasnt suitable.....as im cleaning it up, its little black flakes especially in the strip grooves
